Special events in the ministry

Assembly Meeting for BBC Church Ministry Rhema Shillong: Startup to Graduation Get Acquainted with Rhema Shillong Conference experienced many changes and challenges. Through it all we praise God as He is faithful to complete that which He has begun in us and also in you. You are in our hearts, and you have a big part in all that the Lord is accomplishing through us to take the glorious gospel to the nations.

Ministry Greetings
We greet you all in the joy and peace found only in the Lord Jesus Christ. We are always blessed to be able to send the update of what God is doing in our family and ministry. We have purposed to make it a point to communicate with our partners regularly. Last year was a year full of many great accomplishments, and we were busy about our Fathers business. We

The Missionary Family

In January 2012 we were in a car accident. The car got significant damage, but we can praise the Lord that there were no serious injuries, a few minor cuts and bruises. The good news is that God has given us a new car. God is working everything together for the good. In February, Elishua and Shemaiah started their school year again. Our children currently attend Christian Academy, which is a Christian school within walking distance from our home. In November Elishua graduated from pre-school. Shemaiah completed his 2nd year of pre-school. The children are growing fast. Tehilah will be starting school this year. She is all excited about going to school, and we have to buy school uniforms for her, but she wants everything to be pink. It is quite funny trying to reason with her. Jehoadah turned one year in

November, and is a blessing to us. Early in the year the doctors tried to convince us that he needed surgery, but after prayer and another doctors opinion we were convinced that he would not need surgery. A few months later the doctors that said he would need surgery along with a specialist in pediatric surgery confirmed that he was totally healed. The children are doing fine and really enjoyed Christmas this past year.

The whole family gathered together for a family photo session. Of course, this was an interesting event.

Beautiful Living
Ecclesiastes 3:11 He hath made everything beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.

Ministry: Rhema Shillong & Church ministry

We had many things happening in the family and ministry in 2012. It was a year of great labor in the Lord. We were busy with the plans and implementation of Rhema Shillong, and seeing the start-up and the interest was a joy. Rev. Joe Purcell and Dean Samuel Dhanaraj started us off with a Conference introducing the ministry of Rhema in Shillong. With 74 students registered for classes 32 participated in our graduation ceremony on 1st Dec. 2012. It was an exciting year for Rhema, and we expect great things from our charter batch. I was blessed to teach 5 different modules. The students were hungry for the word and received many things from the instructors overall. Some were healed during healing school, some were set free, some were filled with the Holy Spirit, and we believe that they all received life-changing impartations. The flow of the Spirit was evident in the classroom and many manifestations of the Holy Spirit. We continued to do church ministry and our Great God expanded the influence of our ministry during the year. We had opportunity to minister for Pastors and churches that were new to our ministry and they were all blessed that they invited us to come back in the future. We continued our ministry with Pastor Moses and Bible Believing Church. Again we were blessed to minister in their annual Assembly Meeting this time in the village of Phlamwanbroi. As Bible Believing Church started an English service, Pastor Moses also asked us to minister in the English service every Sunday morning. As the year came to a close we ministered in a couple of Christmas services, and were able to have some connections and ministry relationships strengthened in the Lord. It surely was a year of great joy in the work of the Lord.

We went to the science center in NEHU, a university where our friend Adorelia was studying. Adorelia who is a Rhema Shillong graduate is pictured here with the children.

A Teaching From Gods Word The Walk of Faith

We oftentimes are so caught up in what is taking place around us, with what we see and what we hear that if we are not watchful we begin to forget that we are meant to walk by faith and not by sight. Ones focus can shift from believing the Word of God, and be overcome by what they are seeing. Or some people become so captivated with the circumstances around them that they forget what God has said. Some people like the idea of faith until it comes time to actually live and walk it out, and then they want to see. Great faith is not associated with what a person sees, but rather what they have believed. The problem is that many people become disillusioned when their faith collides and contradicts what they are seeing. But when we are strong in faith our faith is not governed by our sight, but our sight will become influenced by our faith. For we walk by faith, not by sight: (2 Cor. 5:7) and as we do our faith determines what we ultimately see. Faith is the way of the kingdom. If we look to the saints of old, we can see the element of faith by which they lived and how God was pleased with them. Since faith is so important to God, we need to know some things about faith. One of the first things that we need to know is the basis for faith is the Word of God. Faith comes by hearing and receiving as truth what God has said.

So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God (Rom. 10:17).

So hearing the Word of God is required in order to have faith. There were people that heard and were still considered faithless. Thomas at one time was numbered in this group. Jesus said to Thomas, Be not faithless but believing. The children of Israel were also categorized as hearing and yet not believing.

For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it (Heb. 4:2).

they had seen. They exalted their circumstances above the Word of God. They saw giants in the land, but the problem was how they saw themselves, and ultimately revealed how they saw God. Joshua and Caleb were the exceptions. They held unto what God said and were well able to possess their land. In Josh. 14:6-14 we find Caleb speaking the same word of faith that he had 40 years earlier. That was faith in the promise of God to possess the land, and Caleb went in and possessed the land that was promised to him. Even though it was 40 years later, Caleb was strong to possess the land because he had the promise of God and believed that God was with him. Faith is not blind, but faith fixes its focus on the realities of Gods kingdom, not on the things of the earth that are passing away. Just as Moses,

The foundation for the children of Israel to possess the promised land is just that. It was promised land, land promised to them from the Creator Himself.

By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible (Heb. 11:27).

And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Send thou men, that they may search the land of Canaan, which I give unto the children of Israel: of every tribe of their fathers shall ye send a man, every one a ruler among them (Num. 13:1,2).
Before the children of Israel ventured in to spy out the land, God already gave His Word and position on the land. He said, Which I give unto the children of Israel. They were not presuming to take someones land, they had full assurance from God that it was their land for the taking. God was reaffirming the promise that He made to Abraham concerning the land.

Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls (James 1:21).

The Word contains the power of God unto salvation, able to save the spirit, renew the mind, and strengthen and heal the body. The Word of God must be received with meekness. The Word must be allowed to form our hearts and mold our faith if it is going to accomplish what God has purposed for us. The children of Israel did not benefit from the promise of Gods Word because they exalted what they saw over what God said. As a result what they saw disillusioned them from who they were and what they were capable of. Instead of believing what God said they began to see shaded by doubt and fear, and they failed to enter into the promised land. They became captivated with the circumstances and began to speak about the problem, and neglected Gods Word. The problem was the response they had to what God had said, and it was all the result of what

He endured as seeing Him who is invisible. Faith has a sight. It has the ability to see the realities of Gods kingdom and to lay hold of those realities and to confess them as truly as they are. Faith has a foundation, which is the word of God, and He expects you to believe in Him and everything that His Word declares. Faith does see things, for instance faith sees that with God all things are possible and chooses to stand fearless in the face of adversity. When the odds seem overwhelming, faith knows that if God be for us who can be against us. What can stand against God. As the Lord said to Joshua, as I was with Moses, I will be with you. As a result the Lord also said that no man would be able to stand before him all the days of his life. God was with Joshua to accomplish his purpose and there would not be a man on the earth able to stand to resist what God would accomplish through Joshua, because Joshua believed God.

For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith (Mark 11:23).

Faith does not deny the mountain, but faith sees beyond the mountain to behold the eternal realities of what God says. As a student I remember Doug Jones saying something to this extent, People become so captivated with the mountain, that they forget to do what God told them about the mountain. Circumstances shall not rule over us, but we speak to the circumstances, and declare the realities of the kingdom of God to prevail for us.

Rhema Shillong
We experienced many leaps and bounds with the start-up of Rhema Shillong this past year. As I look back at the beginning of my time in Shillong and the vision that God gave for a Rhema in Shillong, it is wonderful to see the early stages of the fulfillment of the vision. We started off with a conference for Rhema Shillong to introduce the school, and to provide a kick-start to the school with classes beginning on 16th July 2012. We had an excellent year, and testimonies from the students of healings, blessings, and the wonderful truths that they learned. It was a wonderful blessing to be a part of what God is doing in Shillong and Rhema campuses in India. We are pursuing the possibilities of a residential program in the future, and the School of Ministry program which will begin in Rhema Nagpur in 2013.

Prayer Requests & Praise Reports

1. We praise God for the healing of our baby boy, Jehoadah. The doctors told us when he was about 6 weeks that he had a rare condition and that they would have to do surgery on him. We told them that we would pray about it first. We went to see another doctor, who had a different diagnosis. So to make a long story short. Jehoadah is perfectly healed without any need of surgery. We praise God as He was faithful to provide for us a new car after our first car was damaged in a car accident. Pray for us to have wisdom in all the affairs of life.

1 Corinthians 9:14 Even so hath the Lord ordained that they which preach the gospel should live of the gospel.
