Newsletter
No : 12 Friday 22nd February 2013

Dear Parents/Carers
A big welcome back and I hope you all had a good half term. We have a very busy term ahead so I would urge you to read through the newsletter which contains a myriad of dates to various events. Id particularly point out the Music For Schools Foundation information evening on Wednesday 6th March. The children will next week have the opportunity to try out various instruments in an assembly run by the foundation and the information evening will explain how the children could receive music lessons. You may remember that before half term I asked for your opinion on moving to delivering the school newsletter and other correspondence via email. The number of replies was :- Happy to receive via email : 33 (75%) Prefer paper copies 11 : (25%). I would just like to reiterate that there is no plan to remove the paper copies for those who do not wish to receive the newsletter via email. I was hoping that we would be able to trial the system this term, however our email system, provided by county, is currently and at short notice, being moved to a new system, so we may have to wait until after Easter. M r Shaw Goodwin - Headteacher

At the time of this letter, our suppliers have confirmed that they have not supplied us with any products or ingredients that have been sourced from any of the meat suppliers cited by the Food Standards Agency and that no meat products supplied contain the DNA of any species other than that declared on the packaging.

However, given the on-going concern around horse meat contamination across the UK and Europe we have taken the decision to remove all beef from lunchtime menus. We feel this precautionary approach is the most sensible course of action in the current situation.

Due to St Christophers success at the Burford Partnership of Schools Indoor Athletics Tournament last month, we were delighted to have been invited to participate in the West Finals which took place this week. As always, the children demonstrated excellent team work and determination and should be very proud with their achievements against the tough competition! a very big well done to you all!

On Wednesday 20th February 2013 St Christophers took part in the Indoor Athletics West Finals. This took place at Carterton Community College. I felt very nervous before my races but my friends gave me lots of encouragement and I felt better. I really enjoyed it and would do it again! We did very well and came 5th out of 7 teams, with 100 points. I had a wonderful time and I hope the others did too! Daisy Keen- Willow Class
