Introduction

In many institutions and organization, attendance is a very important factor for various purposes and its one of the important criteria organization employees must follow. The previous approach which is manually taking and writing the attendance records was a very inconvenient task. After having these issues in mind we proposed an automated daily time record system which automates the whole process of taking attendance and maintaining it. Some commonly used biometric techniques are used for objective identification voice and verification are like iris

fingerprint identification, DNA recognition, hand geometry recognition, signature recognition, and gait recognition. They are basically used for objective identification and verification. various areas Biometrics like techniques are widely forensic used in

our proposed system. It also provides recommendations for people systems. considering adopting fingerprint recognition

Objectives of the Project General Objectives The objective of this project is to design and develop a user-friendly automated daily time record system.

4 Specifically, this project aimed the following:

To ensure that the proposed system will provide more efficiency than the manual system.

To develop an automated DTR system to be used in the Commission on Elections for better management of

employees and the staff members. Allow employees to log-in and out with the aid of biometric scanner so that employees cannot cheat in their time.

Scope and Limitations of the Project

This study is limited only in developing an automated daily time record system for the Commission on

Elections REGION 6 in Iloilo City. The system can

5 is no guarantee that the system will compensate for dirty or stained fingers. The system could be used by two types of users, an administrator and the employees. The administrator can

access and manage the DTR system but they cannot edit the time that is already registered in the data base. The

employees can only log in and out.
