CHORAL INTROIT *CALL to WORSHIP To worship God is to respond obediently when God speaks! We are Gods children, eager to hear Gods will for us. We can know Gods will through the teaching of Jesus, for He spoke with the authority of God. We yield to our Lords authority, assured that He can cleanse us with His Word Come on this Second Sunday in Lent, and let us remember the sacrifices our Lord Jesus made for us! *HYMN #621G For the Healing of the Nations *CALL TO and PRAYER of CONFESSION We love the stories of Jesus, O Father God, which tell us of love, healing, and forgiveness. But the stories of obedience, discipline, and commitment are not as familiar to us. Forgive us when our freedom to live as we choose convinces us that Jesus has no real authority over us. THE APOSTLES CREED I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth: And in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord; Who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the virgin Mary, Suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; He descended into hell; The third day he rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; From thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.

The Mission of the Month for February is Family Promise (Salem County). The mission of Family Promise is to help homeless families achieve and sustain their independence. Family Promise is a non-profit organization that is committed to providing temporary overnight accommodations, meals, and assistance to homeless families. With the help of trained volunteers and support from religious congregations, civic organizations and local schools, FPSC reaches out to displaced families with compassion and acceptance. The network provides a safe haven to stay while they try to find affordable housing, social service, and/or permanent employment. This organization is also comitted to helping low-income families achieve lasting independence. Please keep this ministry in your prayers. There are 12 assisted listening devices available for people to better hear the worship service. They are located in a basket in the narthex. CD copies of our worship service are also available every Sunday in the narthex. Check out our website for the weekly Bulletin and Insert. Our Facebook page can be found at: Pittsgrove Presbyterian Church Pastors Bible Study - Thursday mornings 9-10am in the manse. We got a coffee cup just for you!

In the midst of the congregation I will praise you (Psalm 22:22, NRSV). We invite everyone to unite in praising God. May the spirit of Christs love be stirred within us, prompting us to reach out warmly to one another. Welcome to all! Flowers this morning are presented in honor of Evie Williams and Dave Ewarts birthdays given by the Ewart family. Happy Birthday!! Flowers this morning are also presented in honor of Jen Gardners birthday. Happy Birthday Jen!! Have you thought about Sunday School lately? Are your children or grandchildren coming? Are you?? Sunday School is for all ages from 2 years old to ?? This spring the adults and teens will be studying The Way: Walking in the Footsteps of Jesus by Adam Hamilton who wrote The Journey, that the adults studied in December. The middle grade students will be doing a study of the Gospels called Show Me Jesus. Our younger students will be continuing to learn more about the life of Moses from a series called Growing with God. We would like to restart our youngest class, the Doves. Age-appropriate lessons and activities will be prepared for our 2-4 year olds. Please let Pastor Paul or Anita Elwell know if you have children for this class. We also need help in teaching the prepared lessons. This can be on a rotating basis; you would not be committed to teaching every Sunday. The Doves class will start as soon as enough teachers and helpers have been lined up. Come to Sunday School and study the word of God!
