he Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 is a smartphone based on Android operating system manufactured by made by Korean company Samsung.

The Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 is on the market since February 2012 and is the next after the Samsung Galaxy Ace Plus. With a dual-core 800 MHZ CPU on NovaThor U8500 chipset and the Mali-400 ad Graphics Process Unit, the Galaxy Ace 2 is one of budgets and comes in black and white colors available. The Galaxy Ace 2 runs Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread and brings with a 3.5 inch display PLS TFT LCD capacitive touchscreen 480800 resolution. So the Ace 2 offers a good set of hardware and an Android OS side which in the future will be update. If youre an owner of this smartphone model and you want to root it, then this article will show you a step by step tutorial about how to root your Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 smartphone. Before starting the root guide you need follow some prerequisites that are required and I will introduce you below:

First you need understand the root process will void the smartphones warranty, whatever if you want to restore the warranty you need unroot your device. All the instructions presented in this article and the root guide work for GT-I8160 model only. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. Download and save Odin in your computer on the desktop. Download the Root Package from here and save it on the desktop Download the update_su.zip and save it in your desktop PC. Now, connect your smartphone to your computer using the original USB cord. Copy and Paste the update_su.zip file in your SD card in the root path. After you copied the update_su zip file in your SD card disconnect the smartphone from the computer. 7. Now, extract files from the ODIN archive that you downloaded to your desktop PC. 8. Open the folder where you extracted Odin archive, and run the Odin executable file with double-click on it. 9. Click on PDA button in the Odin interface and select the Root Package file downloaded above. 10. Verify and make sure that only Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time boxes are checked in the Odin software interface, and leave Repartition box unchecked. 11. Turn OFF your Galaxy Ace 2 smartphone.

12. Boot your smartphone into the Download mode, for that you need press and keep holding the Volume DOWN+Home+Power buttons in the same time. 13. When youre inside of the Download mode, you have to connect the smartphone to the computer via USB cord. 14. Now in the Odin interface click on Start button and it will start installing the file. 15. Your smartphone will automatically reboot when the Odin end the flashing process. 16. Turn OFF your smartphone 17. Now boot your Ace 2 device into Recovery Mode, to do this press and keep holdingVolume UP+Home+Power buttons in the same time. 18. Now, from the Recovery mode, select apply update from sdcard and after selectUpdate ZIP file you copied previously to the smartphone and install it. 19. Reboot the smartphone. 20. And thats all! Wait until the driver will be installed and Odin will recognize the phone! 4) Flash I8160XXLD8_ready_to_root_ANT.tar.md5 using Odin as PDA part. 5) Turn off the phone again and enter to recovery mode ("Vol Up + Home + Power"). 6) Select "apply update from sdcard" and choose update_su.zip file 7) Reboot the phone 8) Got root?

Warning:You will lose your warranty. At least until we find a way to reset a custom flash counter.
