How to access your email using Microsoft Outlook

You need a PC with Internet connection. You need a working E-Mail Id and password. Note: Irrespective of the way how users access their mails, all users need to validate their identity by logging in through web interface (http://mail.airtelmail.in) at least for once and activate their account. To access their mails through email client like Outlook Express, one needs to enable SMTP / POP3 access through web interface.

Stepwise Guide
Before you start here, you need to first activate your account as per instructions mentioned in document How to access your email for first time Once you do that please come back here. In case you have already completed activation steps, please proceed

Step 1
Open URL http://mail.airtelmail.in and enter your existing email userId & password and click click on Sign in button. For example: Email Id yogs Password - test123

Step 2
After successful login, you will get the Inbox page. Click on Settings to enable SMTP & Pop3 access.

Step 3 Click on Forwarding and POP/IMAP link:

Select the appropriate option (pop3 / IMAP) and select the action for email messages from the drop down menu and click button Save Changes.

Step 5
Open Microsoft Outlook and select Email Accounts from the Tool menu.

Step 6
Click on Add a new E-Mail account and click Next. From next screen, select Pop3 as server type and click next.

Step 7
On next screen fill all the fields as per following instructions: Your Name Your Name e.g. Yogesh Sachdeva Email Address your complete email id e.g. yogs@airtelmail.in Pop3 server pop.gmail.com SMTP server smtp.gmail.com User Name Complete email id containing airtelmail.in e.g. yogs@airtelmail.in Password your password After filling all these details, click on More Settings

Step 8
From next screen, select Outgoing Server tab and do following: Select checkbox My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication Select radio button Use same settings as my incoming mail server

Step 9
Select Advanced tab and do the following: Enable SSL for POP3 by ticking checkbox The server requires an encryption connection (SSL). The port of Secured POP3 server is 995 Enable SSL for SMTP by ticking checkbox The server requires an encryption connection (SSL). The port of secured SMTP server is 465. Click OK button.

Step 10
After clicking OK, button, you will get the Email Accounts settings screen. Click Next button. Click Finish button on next screen.

Your Microsoft outlook is configured & ready to send & receive mails now. Happy Mailing!!!
