TRUE, however, this U.S Army Field Manual 3-05.213 does NOT explain HOW TO FIT THE SADDLE to the animal. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5.
Why?

Army has never had an accurate method to measure Saddle Fit

BECAUSE THE MEASUREMENT INSTRUMENTS DID NOT EXIST UNTIL RECENTLY

The current commercial understanding of saddle fit assumes that the shape of the mirror image of the animals back is the preferredsaddleshape,however,employingStateoftheArtsaddlemeasurementthishasprovenNOTTOBETRUE.. N
WHY? Because the force of gravity causes the three dimensional shape of the animalsbacktobend,aMEASUREABLEamount, undertheweightoftheloadand causesthesaddlethatappearstofitwithoutaload, toactuallyNOTFITunderload.

These Pressures were found to be lower than current saddle technology,lessthan1PSI,inpartduetothegreatersurfaceareaoftheLDA, more than double the surface of current pack saddles and due to the self adjustable load beams that conform to the shape of the animals back more accurately.

DESIGNED FOR MANUFACTURING Quality, Price, Speed & Quantity

The Modular Animal Mobility Platform (MAMP) is designed for manufacturing employing injection molding, extrusion and metal stamping, permitting HIGH VOLUME /LOW COST manufacturing. The contractpricedependsontheSpecific System, Material, Quantity and DeliveryDate.

That said, the basic MAMP pack frame comprises only 5 ASSEMBLIES created from 10 BASICPARTS.Thesystemiscurrentlydeveloped to Technical Readiness Level 5 (TRL 5) all basic systems proven in a controlled environment. The system is currently ready to be refined for manufacturing, employing Finite ElementAnalysis,ComputerAidedMoldDesign, andfieldtesting.
