AIM: - To study the detail circuit description of AV section. REQUIRMENTS: - Colour T.V. receiver THEORY: AV section is used for hearing audio signals or watching the video signals from external source like VCR or VCD or DVD .CD players available in market mostly supply Audio-Video output signals that can be seen/hear only on that television set which have the facility of AV section. If the television set does not have this facility then there is need of conversion of AV signal to RF signals with the help of converter. For using AV facility we have to press AV switch on remote. There will be plane raster on the screen and AV will be displayed on the screen. It means trainer is now ready to accept input signals from AV socket and hence the RF signals present on RF input socket from antenna are disconnected. Pin no.4of IC901 (System Control Section) provides AV signals at the base of transistor Q702 (CI815/BC547) by a diode D704 (IN4148) as the transistor gets the signal on its base it starts conducting and hence there is negative voltage on collector of the transistor. This negative voltage is fed to pin no.21of IC101 (CD7680) by diode D702 (IN4148). It is input pin of sound IF. This voltage stops the sound IF signals entry at IC So in AV mode there is no. In the same way this negative voltage is also fed to the pin no 5 of IC7680 by a diode D703 (IN4148) this pin is video amplifiers pin due to this voltage video signals are unable to go in forward sections, so on selecting AV mode there is plane raster on the screen with sound mute. Now on connecting VCR/VCD AV input sockets the signals from VCR/VCD can be Seen on the screen.1 Video Signals IN: Video signal obtained from VCR/VCD is fed to the base of video signal amplifier transistor Q705 (C1815) by a capacitor C707 (47mfd) and diode D705 (IN4148). Amplified signals come out from its emitter and are provided to TRAP (5.5MHz) filter. Pin no.39 of IC501 (CD7698) gets biasing by resistance R716 (8.2K) collector of Q705 gets the biasing voltage by a regulator transistor Q704 (BC558). Audio IN: Audio signals supplied by VCR/VCD/DVD are fed to the base of transistor Q703 (C1815) by capacitor C703 (.15mf) collector of the transistor provides amplified audio signals. These amplified signals are fed to the base of Q701 (1815) through capacitor C704 (1mf) R704 (IK), C701 (2.2mf) and diode D701 (IN4148) Its emitter provides the amplified signals The amplified audio signals are supplied to pin no.23 (FM detector pin) of IC101 (CD7680) by capacitor C702 (1mf) and R706 (5.6K). Both the above transistors get the biasing from voltage regulator transistor Q704 (BC558).
