Visiting Teaching

When the Prophet Joseph Smith organized the Relief Society in 1842, he said that the women were not only to look after the poor but also to save souls.1 This is still our purpose. The Lord entrusts a testimony of the truth to those who will share it with others, said President Dieter F. Uchtdorf., Second Counselor in the First Presidency. Even more, the Lord expects the members of His Church to open [their mouths] at all times, declaring [His] gospel with the sound of rejoicing (D&C 28:16). Sometimes a single phrase of testimony can set events in motion that affect someones life for eternity.

In addition to food storage, store water!! In the March Ensign 2009, we were told to store water and that in times of need, having water to drink can be the difference between life and death--or at least between peace and anxiety. If our water system should have a problem, where would we get water? Right from our own supply----If we have one!!! Empty and clean soda pop bottles are excellent storage receptacles for water and take

There are certain principles established of God, which being understood and observed, will put men in possession of spiritual knowledge, gifts, and blessings. When the Gospel dispensation was introduced, gifts and blessings were obtained upon similar principles; that is, upon obedience to certain established rules. The Lord still marked out certain acts, promising to all those who would do them, certain peculiar privileges; and when those acts were performedobserved in every particularthen those blessings promised were sure to be realized. We learn that people were to perform an external work, baptism in water, in order that they might receive the remission of sins, and afterwards the gift of the Holy Ghost. But, before attending to the outward work, the inward work must be performedfaith and repentance. Faith and repentance go before baptism; and baptism before the remission of sins and the reception of the Holy Ghost.
