THE ATLANTIC COUNTY PROSECUTORS OFFICE HAS RECEIVED ACCREDITATION FROM THE NEW JERSEY LAW ENFORCEMENT ACCREDITATION COMMISSION
MAYS LANDING Acting Atlantic County Prosecutor Jim McClain announced the accreditation of the Prosecutors Office by The New Jersey Law Enforcement Accreditation Commission. The commission granted the accreditation by a unanimous vote. In October, a team of assessors from the New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police (NJSACOP) inspected the Prosecutors Office in Mays Landing. The assessment team was composed of law enforcement professionals from similar New Jersey law enforcement agencies. The New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police through its New Jersey Law Enforcement Accreditation Commission is the legitimate authority and accreditation agency in the State of New Jersey. The team examined all aspects of the Offices policies, procedures, management, operations and support services. Assessors also reviewed written materials, interviewed agency members and inspected offices and facilities for compliance with professional criminal justice standards. In order to achieve accredited status, the team must verify that an agency complies with 112 best practice standards. Part of the accreditation process also included receiving comment from members of the public. Upon completion of the assessment teams review, the team reported to the Commission, which unanimously voted to grant the Prosecutors Office accreditation.
