De la Seora:
February is a month of lots of activities and holidays. We started by making predictions with Groundhogs Day. This week we talked about Valentines Day and had fun exchanging cards today (after our pizza party!). Next week we will be talking about Presidents Day and Social studies themes. We also will include information for Black History month, with a special focus on the legacy of Rosa Parks. All during the month we have also been reading books on snow and cold. I just wish we would have snow to play in!

Spelling words come from the letter and syllable combinations we are studying for the week. This coming week will focus on initial y sounds, which sound like the English y. We also will practice the ending y sound which when combined with another vowel becomes a diphthong since it takes the Spanish i (ee). A diphthong is a vowel blend that has just one syllable.
