Congratulations to all our athletes for an amazing season. Over the next 3 weeks we will have Centre Championships followed by Zones, Wind Up and States. Please ensure you read the newsletter thoroughly as there is important information and I am not always available on competition days to answer questions.

March 2 During the Wind Up we will have the Kewdale LAC AGM Please consider filling in one of these positions. Many hands make light work and a club work better when the workload is split evenly between members. Centre Championships
Remember we start at 8am. Be there at 7:30 to settle down and be ready for the first call

1500m walk
On Saturday 16th Feb the 1500m walk will start at 7:30am. Athletes MUST be at Marshalling at 7:15am

- Roster for ChampionshipsIt is a very important for all parents to get a chance to see their child compete in championships regardless if they have a chance for a medal or not! We are lucky to still have enough parents to fill 3 rosters. If everyone fill in their positions we will all have to be on roster ONE championship day only. This means everyone gets to watch their athletes the other 2 days. I have not seen my children compete in Championships in the past 2 years and I don't want that to happen to anyone else. THE ROSTER IS ATTACHED - if you can't make it ... make sure you find someone to swap with .

- 3 event rule / qualification for Centre Championships Please look on Results HQ website (details below) how many times your child has competed in each event. It is a new computer system and clubs do not have access to members results as yet! Every event is repeated 6 times in the season (does not include the 3 Championship Days in Feb/March 2013) In order to qualify for Championships, an athlete must have competed in the event 3 times minimum. For example, if the athlete does Long Jump 2 times in the season and 100m 4 times in the season, he/she will be able to compete in the 100m at championship but not in Long Jump. This rule does applies to Centre Championships ONLY. Not Zones!

If you have not yet used the website to look at your athlete's results, don't worry you can still access the website using your email address where indicated and use the password: blac Results that are posted on the Belmont Website and on the Kewdale website come from the same computer system so until the problem is fixed at their end we are unfortunately unable to extract the information.

- UNIFORM RULES Championships

During Championships uniforms rules must be respected or your child might not be allowed to compete. Black shorts with no branding larger than a matchstick Club shirt always tucked in Age tag on the left and IGA tag on the right. Registration tag on with name and number visible.

(If you have not returned after the Christmas Break you unfortunately do not qualify)

ZONES & STATES

Under 7 to U9: can wear their club inform (see above) Under 10 and up: MUST wear a Belmont shirt (the rest stays the same as above). You can purchase one on the next competition days. Just listen for the announcement.

- BASIC Centre Championships rules If you have not been able to check if your child qualify (see 3 event rules above) he/she can go to the marshalling area but might be told that he/she is not on the list. If this is the case he/she must return to the club area immediately. If you have a protest with regards to an event you MUST talk to your club manager and he will lodge a protest within 20 minutes of the end of the event. Parents are not permitted on site unless they are a rostered helper or acting as chaperon for larger groups. Please stay outside the track and within distance of the site. There can be NO COACHING on site or the athlete might be disqualified.

- Medal Engraver A medal engraver will be on grounds every championship days. The cost last year was $3 per medal but it might have changed. Please be courteous and wait your turn. If you lose a medal there is a cost to replace it. Please approach me or Matthew and we will organize it for you.
