COULTER reversible

Sizes: Adult M (L) FINISHED MEASUREMENTS

Circumference: 18 (21) / 47 (54.5) cm Length (brim to crown): 10 / 25 cm This hat is worked in the round from a twocolor caston at the brim to the crown. Once the hat body is completed, the contrastingcolor stitches from the caston are picked up and a lining is knit in the contrasting color, making this slouchy hat completely reversible.

Gauge: 26 sts and 40 rows = 4/10 cm in Basketweave st TECHNIQUES & STITCH PATTERNS
TwoColor CastOn: Holding two strands of yarn together (one of each color), make a slip knot and place on needle. This stitch will not be a part of nal st count. *Holding CC to the front of the needle, around thumb, and MC to the back, around index nger, insert needle tip into thumb loop, then into into index loop, drawing index loop back through thumb loop. Drop the loop off your thumb, and tug yarn end to draw loop tight around the base of index loop, which is now on the needle. Stitches on needle will be in MC; CO edge will be in CC. Rep from * for desired number of sts. Slip initial two color slip knot off the needle. Applied ICord: Using doublepointed needles, CO 4 sts. Do not turn. Slide the sts to the right end of the needle. Bring the working yarn around behind the caston stitches, and k the rst st, pulling the working yarn snug. Continue to k until there is 1 st rem on the left needle. Slip this st as if to purl. Dip the needle into the edge of your knitting and pick up a st. Pass the slipped st over the pickedup stitch. Slide the sts back to the right end of the needle, and repeat: k to last st, slip 1, pick up 1, pass slipped st over. When applying icord to a piece worked in the round, begin your icord with a provisional caston. Then, at the end of your icord, undo the provisional caston and graft those to sts the live sts still on your needle. Basketweave Stitch (multiple of 20 sts, worked over 20 rnds) Rnds 110: *K10, p10; rep from * to end of rnd Rnds 1120: *P10, k10; rep from * to end of rnd Rep rnds 120.

LINING
