Bison wrestling club has been busy the last two weeks. The wrestlers continue practice two hours a night on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday to prepare for the continued tournaments. Nine boys attended the a Sunday tournament sponsored by Belle Fourche Wrestling Club. Cooper Mackaben earned 2nd place in his first event this season. Colbin Seidel also made his first appearance at a tournament and earned a 2nd place medal. Kaden Glover continues to fight tough matches and fell in the 4th place spot in Belle. Rylee Veal wrestled his way to 2nd place. Ashtin Gerbracht and Corbin Mackaben wrestled in the 9-10 age group. Ashtin and Corbin both came home with 2nd place medals. Shane Collins went 3-0 in the 1112 group earning his first bobblehead trophy for first place. Jaren Beckman, also wrestling in the 11-12 group won 2 and lost 1 landing him in 2nd place. Tanner Cables wrestled in the 13-14 age group and placed 3rd. The boys all wrestled with a lot of heart and continue to work hard. Rylee Veal and Colt Kopren traveled to Rapid City to compete at the Little Big Man Tournament sponsored by Black and Blue wrestling at St. Tomas Moore. The Friday night contest was only for 6 and under or 7-8 wrestlers. Colt worked very hard and won 2, but lost one match coming in second. Rylee bested all of his competitors winning a fist place honor. Congrats to two young wrestlers. Shane Collins and Ashtin Gerbracht along with Coaches Brad and Tracy made their way to Lead on Saturday to give their best at the Lead Deadwood wrestling tournament. Lead had right at 400 boys and girls wrestling in the contest. Ashtin wrestled his way to 3rd place this weekend, while Shane went 3-0 again to bring home first. The boys look forward to a dual with Harding County during this weeks varsity triangular in Buffalo and then will travel to either Sturigs or Lemmon this coming weekend. Keep up the great work boys.
