What is Ndoto.
Ndoto is a nonprot conference for youth rst conceived by two HKIS students, Karen Lee and Anna Zhou. We came together to plan this conference with one common goal: To foster young creativity, encourage entrepreneurship, and present students with innovative methods to make a lasting positive impact on their world. The word Ndoto (inDOHtoh) means "vision" in Swahili. We chose this particular word because it encompasses the essence of what we hope to achieve with our conference starting with the power of entrepreneurs and visionaries.

Why did we create Ndoto.

As privileged students, many of us feel pressured to pursue traditionally stable professions such as law, medicine or economics, setting aside noble passions in other areas of creativity. To encourage our peers to rise above this notion, we have created a conference that offers a window into the minds of unconventional thinkers, bringing their successful ideas into the spotlight and inspiring the future generation. With a focus on three basic elements of entrepreneurship creativity, innovation and change, we strive to emphasize the importance of thinking out of the box.We believe that creativity is the essence of all ideas and the key to a myriad of possibilities. The initial spark of a creative concept brings about the active development of realistic products, in other words innovation. By creating pioneering products, developing new concepts or even just by integrating old ideas through a fresh perspective, innovation uncovers a realm of positive change, of hope and of a better future. Through our conference we hope to foster relationships between students our age and todays entrepreneurs, ultimately coalescing a network of present and future leaders empowered to make a difference in our world.

General Information
The conference will be held on the 23rd of February, 2013 from 10:30AM to 5:30PM at Hong Kong International Schools Black Box Theatre in Tai Tam. Twelve speakers from a variety of professions and walks of life will come present their visionary successes and explore the entrepreneurial elements of creativity, innovation and change during their presentation. This event is ticket admission only and attendees must register online due to limited spaces and overall group dynamics. Registration is open to all though students will be given priority. We have places for approximately 270 attendees. As the conference is a not for prot event, it will be funded exclusively by sponsorships and donations. In addition, all funds procured from this event and from sponsors will go on to pay for another conference under the same name in India. The India conference (Ndoto.in) will be a continuation of one in the Hong Kong and held in a similar fashion. Its main goal is to illicit a positive change within a rural area of Chennai by introducing students to ways in which they can aid the development of their community through social and business entrepreneurship.

Ndoto. India
Following our conference in Hong Kong, we will bring Ndoto onto the international stage with a conference in Chennai, India on March 9th, 2013. India is still generally regarded as a developing country and in many underdeveloped places the values of creativity, innovation and change are not taught in their linear school system. When two schools in Ambur and Pernambut (Chennai, India) expressed interest in helping their students recognize the importance of these values, we jumped at the opportunity to spread our vision. Anna, having been to the area, has been in touch with the principals there to understand the educational situation and the needs of the community. The aim of a studentfocused conference in Chennai, India is to make known to the underprivileged students a world of endless possibility to make a difference. We believe through education and exposure we can help students in these areas create the tools and build the condence to support themselves and their community. By starting with the students, we believe that they can develop long term solutions to long term issues within their own community without external charitable help. The students participating in the Ndoto conference in Chennai, India will be attending free of charge - their costs entirely covered by sponsorships and funds raised in Hong Kong.
