Job Duties: Corrosion Control: All of corrosion mitigation and control methods and testing procedures according to NACE standard e.g. i. Analyze the corrosion data gathered by corrosion control section staff and estimates the corrosion rates (MPY) of different production facilities in order to: a) Suggest the optimum corrosion inhibitor injection dose. b) Issuance the periodical corrosion control report. c) Highlight the high corrosion potentials points. d) Evaluate the separated/formation water total iron content in order to determine the corrosion level. e) Corrosion rate calculation using Corrosimeter reading. f) Determine the magnitude of rust, sand and scale analysis. ii. Perform lab. Tests for new corrosion inhibitors such as: a) Side stream test (in site). b) Wheel test. c) Emulsion stability test. d) Static test. e) Copper ion displacement test. f) Gunking materials test. iii. Control corrosion caused by Sulphate Reducing Bacteria (SRBs): a) Bacteria counting and calculate the optimum biocide injection dose. b) Biocide selection and testing using serial dilution method. c) Test the new Biocide using a special media (culture) for optimum injection dose and performance iv. Corrosion Inhibitor Optimization: a) Corrosion inhibitor optimum dose calculation. b) Corrosion inhibitor concentration and dilution ratio. v. Production quality control and testing.
