PRopozitie It can be argued that during high school I have discovered and developed a passion for economics.

In the 10th grade with the help of my new teacher who introduced me to the basics principles of economy I started to become fascinated by the astonishing power of figures and how they really make the world spin. What intrigued me most was the evolution of economic concepts and its complexity not only as an analytical science but also as a social science involving the study of the human behavior. It was a new and intriguing world, which I have never encountered before. My first economic related experience was a summer job at my fathers company which represented my opportunity to acquire the practical experience that is so vital in this field. While working there I significantly developed my communication and teamwork skills, at first by helping the employees with their paperwork and thus learning about filling in different documents, followed by collaborating for a market research that was necessary to overcome one of the companys problems. I also got into contact with some potential clients and, after a lot of effort and with some chance, I even closed a deal, which was a chance for me to develop my diplomacy. The satisfaction of achieving a positive outcome assured me that this is the subject I in which I would like to build a career. The determining factor that made me chose to study in the UK was the opportunity to attend a two-week course at Studio School of Cambridge in England. Some of the things that attracted me were the degree of civilization and culture, the highly trained lecturers, the wide variety of facilities on the campus and the various opportunities to spend your free time. In addition, participation in different international youth exchanges and intercultural projects organized by Youth in Action in Romania, Belgium and Bulgaria not only has helped me improve my communication skills, the ability to interact with different cultures and and to solve problems by turning my ideas into action but has also made me realize the importance of being part of an international environment. In addition to my academic pursuits, I have also improved my skills through extracurricular activities such as photography and volunteering. I have followed my passion for taking pictures by joining a photo-club which, along with my persistence and

dedication brought me 3rd and 1st places in a photo contest organized by the Cultural Association Virgil Madgearu. Another extracurricular activity was volunteering in various programmes such as: the Eno Tree Planting Day 2008 as one of the students from over 1,500 schools in 122 countries where I was in charge of the team of volunteers from my high school. I also helped to promote environmental awareness through events like the International Day of the Black Sea , the World Environment Day organized by the Environmental Protection Agency where I was responsible for the activities that were taking place in my town, this enabling me to use my initiative and to develop my ability to work to deadlines. Another action that I enjoyed being part of was the Danube Day organized by the Center for Environmental Consulting Galati in which I participated and organized some of the activities. To conclude, considering all my previous work and academic experience, the infinitely greater opportunities compared to those in Romania and the fact that education in the UK is one of the best in the world made me choose it as the country where I want to continue my further education, and where I can truly make a difference. I bring with me a strong commitment, an open mind and a strong belief that, I can overcome any challenge. I am well aware of the fact that studying in the UK will bring a major change in my life and is a responsibility that I am willing to take considering that my ambition, perseverance and hard-work will eventually pay off.
