 One secret a lot of neat people keep form the disorganized,
messy bunch of us is that the first rule of organization and
cleanness is order, and that in any given space there should be
a minimum of objects around to keep the job of cleaning and
putting order as simple as possible. That’s nice ha? Sounds right,
and feels right, but its not that easy to maintain, not when just
going over your clothes in the morning is enough to ruin any
closet or room organization.
The good news is that there is an item that can help you organize
every room in your home, and even better, it helps create the
appearance that you’re a tidy housekeeper (even if you’re not),
this item comes in many different shapes, sizes, colors and
materials and can be found in many local retail stores, including
craft stores and discount retailers, and at flea markets and craft
shows and well basically it’s a universal item found all over the
world. This item is a basket, an item like a basket will give you the
space you need to keep the mess from spreading to the outside.
Almost every organizing expert I talk with tells me that the very
first place to start organizing a house from is the kitchen, a great
idea for better organization in the kitchen is to use a hanging
wall pocket baskets, which have flat backs, to store dry sponges,
cleaning materials and scrubbers as well as pot holders, old
towels, oven mitts, dry dish rags and spare kitchen hand towels.
Many people like to use a wicker basket in the salon or television
room, a wicker basket adds some warmth to the space and is
great if you got kids running around, its cheap and it durable so
almost perfect for a young family. You can use a round or
cylindrical shaped wicker basket on the coffee table to hold

television or other electronic remotes.
One place that almost always need more room to keep things is
the bedroom, you can find great wicker products to place in your
bedroom, they come in many different colors so you can almost
always connect them to your bedroom furniture. A wicker hamper
with a lid in the closet can store extra pillows and keep them
dust-free. If you see openings in the wicker slats or don’t like your
linens snagging on the inside of the basket, line the hamper with
a sheet or large gallon trash bag.

up any of your baskets by gluing on your own garnishments. Be
creative. You can personalize baskets with buttons or even plas-
tic candy canes to miniature toy figures or mini cloth stockings.
Baskets are a great way of saving space, and helping you get
organized, I hope you will try using baskets and that they will help
you get your house organized.

The Appliances

need are a coffee maker or an espresso machine, a
blender, and some cups and eating utensils for the final
product.
The Directions
This recipe makes two servings so if you need to make
a bigger batch, just multiply the amounts of ingredients
according to how many extra servings you will need to
make.
First, make your coffee or espresso. Prepare your
coffee as strong or light as you want depending on your
personal choice. Let your coffee cool a bit as you will
not want to melt the ice cream with it.
Next, get your blender and drop two heaping scoops of
vanilla ice cream into it. Drop in a shot of espresso or a
quarter cup of regular coffee along with a small handful
of ice cubes. Blend these ingredients together on high
until you see that all the contents are mixed together
forming a thick and icy shake.
Now, take the cups that you will be serving the Great
Coffee Shakes in. Decorate the inside of the cups with
your preferred syrup, adding as much or as little as you
desire.
When you are done applying the syrup to the inside
of the cups, transfer the blended ingredients from the
blender to your cups. Finish it off with whipped cream on
the top, and you can even add more syrup on top of the
whip cream if you wish.

they are headed. Ditto for driving slowly then
suddenly zooming fast. If you’re confused about
where you you want to go, you’re probably
confusing other people on the road as well. If you’re
lost, park your car and regain your bearings. Check
a map or street directory or maybe even ask
someone for directions. The worst thing you can
do is drive around aimlessly. That’s like looking for
trouble with a capital T.

When making a full stop or slowing down for
whatever reason, it’s a good defensive driving
technique to let other drivers know of your intention.
You can do this by tapping the brake pedal a couple
of times so that your brake lights flash and clue in
others behind you that you are slowing down or
stopping. This is especially important if the driver
behind you is driving fast and approaching quickly.
6. Try to anticipate the worst in others
It may sound cynical and ‘s not a good rule to follow
in life but, in defensive driving, it pays to anticipate
the mistakes of other drivers on the road. For
instance, many drivers routinely signal a turn but
don’t turn at all. Meanwhile, others don’t signal at
all and then suddenly turn. Many people disregard
stop signals or try to run red traffic lights so keep a
watchful eye out for these instances.

 Diesel engine principles are pretty straight forward for the experienced
mechanic but what about regular everyday people who have never taken
the time to find out more about a diesel engine and how it works?
I am going to explain in layman terms the basic principles of a diesel
engine.
What is the difference between a gasoline engine and a diesel engine?
The first thing you should know is a gasoline engine and a diesel engine
are totally different. A gasoline engine is constructed much lighter than
the heavier built diesel engine. The gasoline engine runs on a air and
fuel mixture combined with a high energy spark that is timed to ignite
inside each engine cylinder at the precise time creating power and torque
turning force which drives your vehicle.
A diesel engine uses high compression intake air that is compressed into
a very small space inside each cylinder causing extreme heat. This is
called heat of compression which ignites a very fine high pressure mist of
diesel fuel that is injected into each cylinder at the exact time.
6.7L Cummins diesel engine
So you now know that a gasoline engine needs a high energy spark to
run while a diesel uses heat of compression. The four stroke principle in
all engines run on four strokes or four cycles, both these terms mean the
same.
Here is how the four stroke diesel engine operates. The four strokes are
intake, compression, power and exhaust.
The pistons, valves and injectors work together in each cylinder in a set
sequence over and over.
Intake stroke. Intake valves in the cylinder head open allowing
pressurized air to enter each cylinder while the piston is traveling
downward. The pressurized air supply is made possible by the
turbocharger which pushes air into the intake system giving the diesel

engine a boost of air to keep up with instantaneous injection of fuel.
Compression stroke. When the piston starts to move upward the valves
close which traps the intake air in the cylinder and allows compression to
take place. The heat of compression is reached when the piston reaches
the top of the cylinder, the diesel fuel is then injected into the cylinder at
the precise time.
Power stroke. After injection takes place an explosion occurs in the
cylinder because of the combination of heat and atomized diesel fuel.
This causes the piston to be forced downward which produces torque
and the horsepower required from a typical diesel engine.
Exhaust stroke. After the power stroke the piston moves upward once
again while the exhaust valves open allowing the previously ignited
gases to escape to the atmosphere out the exhaust system.
As mentioned before each
cylinder goes through this
exact sequence over and
over in a set firing order. For
instance, a 6 cylinder diesel
engine has a firing order 1

that each cylinder goes
by, following the 4 strokes
mentioned above.
This sequence has been
engineered to allow the
diesel engine to run
4 cyl. diesel engine
smoothly with no imbalance.
Here is some diesel engine trivia on high performance diesel engines.
Fuel passes through the injector at speeds of nearly 1500 miles per hour,
as fast as a jet plane at top speed. Fuel is injected into the combus-
tion chamber in less than 1.5 milliseconds, the same time it takes for a
camera flash to go off.
The minimum amount of fuel injected into a diesel engine is one cubic
millimeter, about the same volume as the head of a pin. Volkswagen has
developed a one liter diesel powered car that got 100 kilometers out of
.89 liter of fuel, 60 miles on less than one quart of fuel.
There is much to learn about diesel engines and a ton of information
online. If you have ever considered buying a vehicle with a diesel engine
you have my blessing.
The extra cost will be to your benefit, so I recommend finding out more
about diesel engines before you decide which one to choose.

You’ve purchased an RV and the one thing that
will help you have many years worth of
enjoyment from it is without doubt a regular
maintenance schedule. You may have
negotiated a maintenance plan into your
purchase price, if that’s the case great. If you
have bought a second hand RV, you may be
able to do a lot of the preventative
maintenance yourself.
Like any expensive item you cherish, you’ll no
doubt make sure that it’s well protected and
well looked after. Preventative RV maintenance
is all about keeping a check on those parts
that are either known to cause problems or
will probably cause problems if left poorly
maintained.
A few of the more common things to keep a
close check on when maintaining an RV are
very similar to that of a car. These maintenance
items will ensure that the basics are covered.
Fuel System Check
Regularly check that the fuel filter is clean and
free from debris that may have come from the
fuel tank. Clogged filters will make it harder
for the RV’s engine to operate efficiently as
the correct mixture of fuel to air may not be
maintained within the combustion chamber. This
can cause what’s known as “kangaroo” jumping
or juddering and is not a pretty sight.
Air Filter System
Check the air filters and replace them regularly
at least 3 to 4 times a year depending on how
dirty or dusty the local environment is. Air filters
keep the air that’s introduced into the engine
combustion chamber clean. When these filters
become blocked or compromised they will
affect the efficiency and hence MPG of your
RV. Check them regularly and replace when
required or at the interval you have decided
upon.
Braking System Check
Be sure to check the brake pads and brake
fluid before attempting any long journey. Brake
pads will get worn down fast in more difficult
or challenging terrain. Check the brake fluid
lines regularly for damage or leaks.
Ignition System Check
The contact points on the ignition need to be
checked at least once every six months. Your
engine may be having a hard time starting
and this is exactly the type of problem caused
by poor contacts. If you have a direct injection

Cleaning products are readily available that
you can put into the fuel tank that can add
some life to your injectors. You should though
know that if this does not work, your injectors
may be past the point of saving and will need
to be changed.
Suspension System Check
Tires that have uneven wear patterns are often
the result of suspension problems or may just
be incorrect inflation pressures. If the RV leans
heavily in turns or the front end drops low when
braking, there is a real possibility that you
have suspension problems.
The old test for shock absorbers was to
manually bounce each corner of the RV, if
possible and watch to see if there are more
than just a few bounces. Excessive bouncing will
probably mean that the shocks need changing.
If you have a large RV, then it would be best to
get the above symptoms checked out at a local
garage that offers RV maintenance.
Preventative maintenance will help your RV
run for much longer and give you extra years
of service. Look after your RV and it will look
after you. It would be safe to say it’s a bit like
a marriage.
