Do not Disturb (DND)

1 Denition
The feature Do Not Disturb (DND) allows a subscriber who does not wish to be disturbed to have incoming calls forwarded immediately to a recorded announcement. The announcement informs the calling subscriber, for example, of the reason why he or she cannot reach the called party at the moment.

2 Mode of operation
When the feature Do Not Disturb (DND) has been activated for a subscriber line, incoming calls are not switched through to this line but forwarded to a recorded announcement instead. The feature can be activated and deactivated by the operator or by the subscriber by means of subscriber controlled input. Subscribers can check from their terminal whether the feature is active for their line. The feature is assigned to ISDN subscribers on a service-specific basis and is only suitable for voice services. The feature has no influence on the outgoing calls of the forwarding subscriber. The subscriber hears a special dial tone when the feature is activated. Additional functions and authorizations In connection with the feature, the following additional functions and authorizations can be created: ISDN The forwarding subscriber is reminded that call forwarding is active whenever he or she makes an outgoing call. This authorization can only be issued for ISDN basic accesses (not for PBXs). The forwarding ISDN subscriber receives an indication specifying the number of the calling subscriber and indicating for which of the called subscribers directory numbers the call is being forwarded. Analog / ISDN The forwarded subscriber receives an indication that his or her call is being forwarded. It is possible to specify a time period of between 1 hour and 48 hours after which the feature is automatically deactivated again for a line. Capacity The percentages indicate the number of authorized subscribers for the feature within the network node and their simultaneous application. 3 Subscriber controlled input

The feature can be administrated by subscriber controlled input. For the subscriber procedure, see: Analog subscriber ISDN subscriber GeoCENTREX Analog subscriber ISDN subscriber Subscriber controlled input functions Signaling method Analog Pulse Activate Deactivate Enter data Delete data Enter data and activate Delete data and deactivate Activate with/without data Feature use Status request Data request Status request with/without data Access code The access code for subscriber controlled input consists of a maximum of 6 characters or, for GeoCENTREX subscribers, a maximum of 5 characters. It can be formed from the symbols 5 , # and the service code (SC) with the digits 0 to 9. The operator can specify the character strings for the access code. Differences by pulse dialing The selected digits are not obligatory; other digits can be input (depending on the existing numbering plan). 1111 at the beginning of an input in place of 5 1112 at the beginning of an input in place of # 1113 at the beginning of an input in place of 5 # 5 as a disconnecting signal after the service code, not relevant # after the subscriber controlled input, not relevant X X ------------X ----DTMF X X ------------X ----ISDN Keypad X X ------------X ----Funct. -----------------------
