For the best possible career opportunities: The Bachelor degree course in Mechatronics
DEAR PROSPECTIVE STUDENTS
Are you interested in modern computer-aided technical systems such as industrial robots, digital cameras, laser scalpels or automotive systems? If you are, then B.Eng. Mechatronics is the right degree course for you. Here you will be combining programmable electronic components which operate in synergy with mechanical systems. You will find that a B.Eng. qualification can be the key to a wide variety of career opportunities. Mechatronics engineers women and men alike are in great demand! Regensburg as a centre of learning, with its historically and culturally important Old Town, enjoys an excellent reputation; in fact, every sixth inhabitant is a student! Regensburg University of Applied Sciences offers this stateof-the-art degree course in Mechatronics with small study groups and close proximity to lecturers and other teaching staff. We set great store by applying the theories learned in the classroom to practical laboratory experiments, thereby significantly improving students understanding and appreciation of engineering. As a student, you will be working alongside other students and staff on actual research and development projects in the facultys research centres (for example, the Mechatronics Research Unit). There is no numerous clausus to this course. I greatly look forward to working with you!

W H AT I S M E C H AT R O N I C S ?
Mechatronics is an interdisciplinary subject, a fusion of electronics, mechanical engineering and computer science into a coherent engineering science. A great emphasis is placed on instilling systems-orientated thought processes in our students. This is important when we consider that modern technical devices and equipment consist primarily of programmable electronic controllers which are directly integrated into electromechanical systems. Typical mechatronic products include autonomous robotics, automotive safety systems (e. g. ABS or car cruise control) or intelligent automation systems.

far acquired in a real industrial environment or in a research facility. Where possible, a foreign placement is preferred, and the Faculty can help you in your search for such a position.

Bachelors dissertation, 7th semester

The final stage in the degree course is the Bachelor's dissertation in which students demonstrate their ability to work independently as competent engineers. This may be carried out in industry or in the laboratories of the Mechatronics Research Unit or other research facilities at the University.

CAREER OPPORTUNITIES AND FIELDS OF ACTIVITY The current shortage of engineers on the job market gives mechatronics engineers excellent career opportunities. Successful completion of the course opens the way to a wide variety of careers. These include: I Research and development, I Hardware and software design, I Production and quality assurance, I Project planning and design, I Marketing and sales, I Consultants and independent experts, I Entrepreneurs.

STUDY CONTENT
1st Study period, 1st and 2nd semester
In the first study period you will learn basic engineering science in fields such as electrical engineering, engineering mechanics, design, mathematics, physics and computer science.

2nd Study period, 3rd to 7th semester

Building on these basic principles, the second study period concentrates on engineering subjects which introduce students to the tasks of the mechatronics engineer. The main subjects here include I Mechatronic systems and processes, I Actuators and sensors, I Control engineering, I Robotics and Automation. In addition to lectures, the programme includes practical sessions where you will have an opportunity to broaden your theoretical knowledge in the University's own state-of-the-art laboratories.

WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU...

I A love of natural sciences, mathematics and technology, I An interest in theoretical and practical considerations, I Creativity for developing new solutions
