LESSON PLAN YEAR 3 Theme: Topic: Learning Standards: World of Knowledge Festival 5.1.

6 Able to use adjectives correctly and appropriately (d) opinion By the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to: (i) use adjectives correctly to talk about festivals (ii) use adjectives appropriately to describe food served during the festivals.

Objectives:

Cross-curricular elements / Educational emphases: Constructivism, Values and Citizenship, Multiple Intelligences Teaching Aids: pictures of food, realia(food) Steps: 1. Show pictures and ask them to state the taste of the different food; sweet, salty, bitter, spicy and sour. 2. Blindfold pupils and ask them to taste sugar, salt, lemon, curry powder, and bitter gourd. 3. Pupils give their opinion on whether the food tasted is sweet, salty, bitter, spicy and sour . 4. Teacher asks the pupils what are these words used for. (Expected answer: These are words to describe food) .Teacher tells class that these words are adjectives. 5. Festive songs are heard while the teacher serves some festive food and the pupils describe the food that they taste. 6. Pupils gives their opinion on the food as they mingle. Moral Values: understanding and celebrating each other festival.
