ELLEN WHITE Changed the Date of the Cross and nobody noticed!

Of all the great religious movements since the days of the apostles, none have been more free from human imperfection and the wiles of Satan than was that of the autumn of 1844. Even now, after the lapse of many years, all who shared in that movement and who have stood firm upon the platform of truth, still feel the holy influence of that blessed work, and bear witness that it was of God. What a sweeping and preposterous statement! Ellen White claimed that her own church, conceived and born amongst the Second Coming fever and fanaticism of the early 1840s, was more true, divine, holy, blessed and perfect than any other religious movement since the times of the apostles. Could this be true? Her disciples are convinced it is, because she said so. To placate the sceptics, they pretend that she was not perfect, but really, they can think of nothing she ever did, said or wrote which was less than perfect. And if there was anything, they would be certain to find a plausible excuse for it. To outsiders they pretend that she never claimed to be a prophet, but behind closed doors, they acknowledge that she was the greatest prophet of them all. Her words are quoted interchangeably with scripture verses to prove her doctrines. Her true believers enthusiastically claim that the Word of God contains many more errors, falsehoods, plagiarisms, failed prophecies, flawed saints, inconsistencies, mistakes and contradictions than Ellen White's books. They tell us that many Bible prophets gave false prophecies, and that anyway, prophecy is only conditional, because God is entitled to change His mind about fulfilling His Thus Saith The Lords (except when it comes to superseding the Old Covenant or not applying the 4 th Commandment to Gentiles). God was speaking through clay, wrote Ellen, therefore all her words must be infallible, even though this statement contradicts her denial of infallibility. HOW THIS WHOLE MESS BEGAN When William Miller's prophecy of Jesus' Second Coming in 1843/44 had failed twice already, his loyal followers were not prepared to give up just yet. Obviously there had been a minor book-keeping error somewhere, but it was clear to them that despite the utter failure of every single element so far, the basic premises were all correct. They just needed to be patient and prepared like the wise virgins they were, and trim their lamps a little closer as they awaited the Bridegroom who was undoubtedly just at the doors. They set a third date for the Second Coming in 1844, but altered the parameters by which it

was estimated. This time they claimed to have discarded the false Rabbinic method of calculating the Jewish calendar, and to have substituted the true Caraite reckoning. The most vocal champion of true Caraite reckoning was Samuel Sheffield Snow, who unilaterally announced to the Millerites, in William Miller's absence, that Jesus was definitely going to arrive this time, on the 10th day of the 7th month that is, according to true Caraite reckoning, on October 22, 1844.

LeRoy Edwin Froom SDA Historical Research Committee Report # 2, 1939 p. 15 Now, on August 22 1844, Snow published this remarkable statement in the very heart of his True Midnight Cry, the document which really gave form and impetus to the 7th month movement: This event [the Crucifixion] took place, according to Doctor Hales, one of the ablest and best chronologers, in the spring of AD 31. Ferguson has placed it in AD 33; but in order to prove it he assumes the Rabbinical mode of reckoning the year, which is not correct. They commenced the year with the New Moon in March; but the Caraites with the New Moon in April. The word Caraite signifies one perfect in the law. These accuse the Rabbins of having departed from the Law, and conformed to the customs of the heathen; and the charge is just, as they regulate their year by the Vernal Equinox, in imitation of the Romans; whereas the Law says nothing of the Vernal Equinox; but required, on the 16th day of the first month, the offering of the Firstfruits of the barley harvest. But if the year be commenced according to the rabbins with the New Moon in March, the barley harvest could not possibly be ripe in 16 days from that time. The Caraites are therefore undoubtedly correct. Now our Lord was crucified on the day of the Passover, as is evident from John 18:28. It was likewise the day before the Sabbath, as is proved by John 19:31. [p. 16.] According to the rabbinical reckoning, the Passover occurred on the day before the Sabbath in AD 33, and not for several years before or after. But according to the Caraite reckoning, the Passover occurred on that day in 31 AD. Therefore, that was the year of the Crucifixion. The Covenant was confirmed half a week by Christ, and the other half by His apostles. Such was the pronouncement, replete with errors, that fanned the flames in the lamps of the Millerites awaiting the return of their Master from the Wedding Feast. Snow was correct about the Crucifixion being on a Friday during the Feast of Unleavened Bread in Nisan, and that the Caraites are undoubtedly correct in the date they observe the Wave-sheaf and begin their months but everything else Snow said was false. He shamelessly used the name of the Karaites to endorse his own deceitful agenda.

Snow categorically stated here, that Christ was crucified on the day of Passover (biblically 14 Nisan), on a Friday, in 31 AD, in April. This he calculated, claiming Caraite authority, must be Friday April 27, 31 AD. Exactly how Samuel Snow decided that Friday 27 April 31 AD was the Caraite date for 14 Nisan is impossible to determine, as it most definitely was not. No matter whose calendar one uses Rabbinic, Karaite, Essene, or the Essenes' version of the lunar calendar there is simply no way to make Friday 27 April 31 AD, be 14 Nisan. Samuel Snow was wrong in so many points. He claimed that beginning the year near the Vernal Equinox was an error copied from the Romans. Of course this is not true. God commanded Moses to begin the year at the time that the barley would first be ripe enough to present as a sheaf on the first weekly Sabbath after 14 Nisan. That is, it must be aviv, which means, green ears of grain; it was not required to be dead ripe. It just so happens that the rapidly increasing day-length at the Vernal Equinox is the trigger which forces barley to ripen. Apart from catastrophic weather conditions, this is when the barley in Israel will be ripe, every year around the Vernal Equinox. In fact, the first month of the Jewish year was called AVIV alluding to the stage of ripeness of barley on the first day of this month. If the barley was in the ear but not yet dead ripe on the last day of Adar (the previous month), it would be sufficiently mature to present to the Lord as the wavesheaf offering more than two weeks later. Samuel Snow not only set the third Millerite date for the Second Coming, but he altered most of William Miller's dates in his chronology which had started the whole divine, true, perfect, holy, blessed religious movement. Snow retained Miller's 457 BC as the starting point of Daniel's 70 Weeks (which Miller had swiped from royal astronomer Sir Isaac Newton's 1733 tome on Daniel and the Revelation.) However, Miller had dated the beginning specifically in Spring on the 12 th Nisan 457 BC (the date he believed Ezra left Babylonia, Ezra 8:31). Now, since the failure of Jesus to return in Spring at the end of 2,300 years, the starting date was moved from Spring to Autumn, after Ezra had arrived and begun administration duties, when the decree to restore and build Jerusalem supposedly went into effect. This allowed Snow to announce that Jesus would definitely return in the Autumn. How anyone could be beguiled by such a string of absurdities is astonishing, for ~ Isaiah prophesied that Cyrus would give this decree. Ezra was born at least 50 years before Year 1 Cyrus. Artaxerxes cannot possibly be Longimanus. 457 BC has nothing to do with anything. There is no decree in Ezra 7 remotely connected with rebuilding the city and the walls. The going forth of a decree is neither when somebody sets out on a journey, nor when the decree goes into effect; but when it is first spoken by the one who makes that decree. Also, Miller had been tricked by the lack of a Year Zero between 1 BC and 1 AD. All of his discredited 15 Proofs arrived at 33 AD for the Cross as the end of the 490 years; and 1843 for the terminus of the 2,300 Year-Days. So Miller's Cross on 12 Nisan (Wednesday 1 st April) 33 AD had to go. Somehow the 490-year 70 Weeks chronology must be stretched from 457 BC to 34 AD, and the 2,300 Year Day chronology to 1844 AD.

Snow also altered the holy, divine events which occurred on these true, perfect altered dates. He kept Sir Isaac Newton's 34 AD year for the terminus of the 490 Years, but altered the event which fell on it, and added 6 months to it. He now set the Crucifixion at the midst of the 70th Week of Daniel, in Spring, rather than at the end of it, as Sir Isaac Newton and William Miller had dated it. He set the baptism of Jesus in 27 AD as the beginning of the 70 th Week, supposedly the anointing of the most Holy of Daniel 9:24. Miller had set 26 AD as the beginning of the ministry of John the Baptist, with Jesus' baptism 3 years later. He chose 34 AD as the date of God's rejection of the Jews, sealed by their stoning of Stephen. Whether Snow himself invented the fable that the martyrdom of Stephen was in 34 AD as the significant event terminating the 70 Weeks, is unclear. The logic was that since the elusive decree of Artaxerxes went into effect in the autumn of 457 BC (another unprovable assumption taken from Newton), then the 490 years must also end in the autumn. That meant the Cross could not have fallen at the end of the 70th Week in 34 AD as Sir Isaac Newton calculated, for Jesus died at the Passover in spring, not autumn; nor could He have died at the end of Miller's 70 th Week in 33 AD, which was only 489 years from 457 BC. Although the Bible and history are silent as to any significant prophecy-fulfilling event occurring in autumn 34 AD, at some stage somebody figured that nobody could object if Stephen's martyrdom was assumed as the occasion on which God forever rejected the Jewish nation (which, God promises, will never happen), and in the absence of any evidence whatsoever, 34 AD was as good a time as any for Stephen to have been stoned to death. Therefore since autumn 34 AD was contrived as the end of the 70 th Week, the midst of the Week must be 3 years previously, in spring 31 AD; as Snow counted 4 Passovers in Jesus' ministry (31, 30, 29 & 28 AD), this conveniently left 3 years before the Cross from the Anointing of the most Holy, (qodesh qodashim; Daniel 9:24) which was deemed to be the coming of the Messiah the Prince (Daniel 9:25) and also the anointing of the Most Holy (Daniel 9:24) at Jesus' baptism. Again, the unproven assumption was that Jesus was baptised in the autumn of 27 AD. It was also assumed that Jesus came at His baptism, rather than at His birth when the angel announced that Christ, the Anointed, had been born. It was assumed that the term Most Holy referred to Jesus, rather than to the anointing and re-consecration of the defiled Jewish Temple, within which is the Holy of Holies, the qodesh qodashim. It all worked out so neatly, if you began with the assumption that Ezra chapter 7's (nonexistent) Decree to Rebuild Jerusalem was given by Artaxerxes Longimanus (who could not possibly be the king there identified as Artaxerxes) in spring 457 BC; but that it only went into effect 6 months later in autumn; even though the prophecy concerns the going forth of that decree, not the going into effect. Therefore it must all be absolutely true. At least this is the way that Millerites and Seventh-day Adventists have always rationalised things to their own satisfaction. The trouble for the Millerites was that the Rabbinic method of calculating the Passover

gave an unacceptable date in late March, which could not fall on a Friday in 31 AD, as Newton stressed. Samuel Snow had to come up with a cunning ruse to convince the Millerites that his carefully-contrived year was indeed the date of the Crucifixion. Sir Isaac Newton (whose work Miller so closely followed) could not allow the Cross in 31 AD, for: 14 Nisan fell on Monday 26th March 31 AD according to the Rabbins; or using Newton's method of first visibility of the crescent moon to begin the months (which of course is actually the True Caraite Reckoning claimed by Samuel Snow!!), it fell on Tuesday 27 March 31 AD. This would not work for the Millerites at all. There must be some way to juggle the figures to make a Friday Passover in 31 AD! Otherwise, they would be forced to ditch the whole scheme and admit they were false prophets preaching a false gospel. How humiliating that would have been. Chapter 10. Of the Prophecy of the Seventy Weeks.

Now the years of this Artaxerxes began about two or three months after the summer solstice, and his 7th year fell in with the 3rd year of the 80th Olympiad; and the latter part thereof, wherein Ezra went up to Jerusalem, was in the year of the Julian Period 4257. Count the time from thence to the death of Christ, and you will find it just 490 years. If you count in Judaic years commencing in autumn, and date the reckoning from the first autumn after Ezra's coming to Jerusalem, when he put the King's decree in execution; the death of Christ will fall on the year of the Julian Period 4747, Anno Domini 34; and the weeks will be Judaic weeks, ending with sabbatical years; and this I take to be the truth: but if you had rather place the death of Christ in the year before, as is commonly done, you may take the year of Ezra's journey into the reckoning. Clearly, William Miller followed Sir Isaac Newton's second option: ending the 490 years in 33 AD, when there was a Friday Passover (on both the Rabbinic and Karaite calendars); but he omitted to alter the starting point from 457 BC to suit the 490 years. Unfortunately, neither Sir Isaac Newton nor William Miller (nor almost anybody else) noticed that: Both Ezra and Nehemiah officiated in Jerusalem during Year 1 of the Return from Babylon. The Feast of Booths in the first year of Return (the first one held according to the Law since the days of Joshua, Ezra 3:4; Neh 8:17) was led by Ezra the priest and scribe, and by Nehemiah the Tirshatha. The Covenant which was signed by the leaders of the Jews was made on the 24 th day of Tisri in the same 7th month of the first year. (Ezra 3:1-13; Neh 7:5 12:9.) This cancels the argument that Longimanus was the Artaxerxes who despatched Ezra and Nehemiah to Jerusalem in his 7th and 20th years. This Great King (which is what Artaxerxes means), can only have been Darius Hystaspes. No other Persian king reigned as long as 20 / 32 years except Darius.

This of course proves that the Artaxerxes who sent both Ezra and Nehemiah on missions to Jerusalem in later years, could not possibly have been Artaxerxes Longimanus, and therefore 457 BC has nothing to do with any Bible prophecy. Had Sir Isaac Newton noticed this fact, the world would have been spared hundreds of years of spurious speculation and fanatical frenzy. The Seventh-day Adventist Church and other cults would never have arisen. Joseph Samuel C. F. Frey. Reverend Joseph S. C. F. Frey was a Christian Jewish minister very active in America contemporary with William Miller, Samuel Snow and Ellen White. He wrote prolifically on the biblical evidence of Jesus Christ as the fulfilment of Hebrew prophecy, and preached many thousands of times across the country. Having been trained as a rabbi until the age of 25 when he became convinced that Jesus is the Messiah whom the Jews seek, he was especially familiar with the Jewish perspective of the scriptures, and was well-qualified to write the many books which purportedly influenced Samuel Snow. Alas, Joseph Frey's excellent scholarship and successful missionary outreach to the Jews have been largely forgotten, while Samuel Snow's fanatical false prophecies and megalomaniac claims have spawned a religious movement which is today one of the major sects. Frey mentioned the Karaite Jews, and their method of calendation. He described the Barley Wave-sheaf, which must necessarily be sufficiently ripe in the first Jewish month, to be presented during the Feast of Unleavened Bread. SDA theologian LeRoy E. Froom claimed that Frey had calculated the exact date of the Crucifixion, which he said, led to Samuel Snow's choice of the 31 AD date for the Cross, and hence to the choice of the true Caraite date for the Day of Atonement in 1844:

The writings of the Christian Jewish scholar, Joseph Samuel C. F. Frey, exerted a marked influence upon Snow and his associates in fixing upon October 22 1844, as the precise 10th day of the 7th month fulfilment of the atonement autumnal type, in parallel to the death of Christ as our great antitypical Passover Lamb, accomplished historically on the exact year, month, day and even hour specified in prophecy. 9 Writing on October 14, 1844, just before the Disappointment, Himes states in the Advent Herald that he had inserted, in several daily papers in Boston, an explanation of the Adventist expectation concerning October 22, in which these words appear: As the types of the Jewish Law, the Passover, the waving of the sheaf of Firstfruits, and the Pentecost have been honoured by the greatest events of the Christian dispensation, viz.: the death of Christ, our Passover, His resurrection, and the bestowment of the gifts of the Holy Ghost. This led us to the belief that as the work to be done by our Lord at His Second Coming, is typified by the transactions of another great typical institution of the same law, the national atonement, or cleansing of the people from all their sins before the Lord, on the 10th day of the 7th month He will then appear for the salvation of His people. 10

It was the exactness of this Passover fulfilment that had won Frey to Christianity, 11 as he calculated the Crucifixion year on the basis of the 70-Week prophecy and year-day principle, and the month and day on the basis of the stipulated 14 th day of the 1st month for the sacrifice of the typical Passover. 12 This gave force to Snow's paralleling contention regarding the Atonement Day which had been previously intimated by Miller.

LeRoy Edwin Froom, Research Committee Report # 2, 1939. LeRoy Froom made several errors here; perhaps he deliberately tossed in some red herrings to steer the snoopy reader away from the facts while giving the admirable appearance of conscientious attention to historical detail. Footnote 11 actually relates to Frey's Essays on the Passover, pp. 8,9 which is found as a separate addendum to the London edition of his book, Judah and Israel. (See http://www.scribd.com/doc/115553811/JOSEPH-S-C-F-FREY-ESSAYS-on-thePASSOVER.) This reference does not support Froom's inference that Frey calculated the exact Crucifixion year. Nothing I have read in Frey's books suggests he ever made any definite statement regarding the year of the Cross. In fact, he stressed that these things are very difficult to determine, and that prophecy is often not recognised until it has been fulfilled, resisting all human attempts to pin down future dates such as the Second Coming prophesied by Samuel Snow on October 22 1844. Had Snow been more markedly influenced by this sagacious piece of advice from Joseph Frey, he would have averted the ridicule showered upon him for his false prophecies, and millions would never have been deceived by the aftermath of his presumption. Footnote 12 pertaining to the book Scripture Types Volume I I am unable to find. The page numbers given for the book Joseph and Benjamin Volume II are inaccurate and do not correlate to Froom's assertions. Pages 194 199 in Volume II are actually from Joseph and Benjamin Volume I; Daniel's Weeks Expired. In this Letter to his unconverted brother Benjamin, Frey gives his opinion that the beginning of Daniel's 70 Weeks or 490 years was Year 20 Artaxerxes, when Nehemiah was sent to Jerusalem to rebuild the wall; but he does not specify a year BC. This is 13 years later than Year 7 Artaxerxes, used by Miller and Snow, which is the foundation of the SDA church to this day. Clearly, Frey's beliefs ran counter to Samuel Snow's in almost every conceivable detail, and it was deceitful of LeRoy Froom to suggest otherwise. The deceiver Froom must have been relying on the unlikelihood of any reader having access to the many works he referenced. Moreover, Frey ended the 69th Week at the coming of the Messiah, leaving the

70th Week to be fulfilled in the future. This again contravenes both Snow's and Miller's doctrines. Frey quotes two Jewish authorities who prophesied before Jesus was born, that Daniel's prophecy of the Coming of the Messiah would be fulfilled at the time of His birth; but he does not venture to give dates. Frey then places the death of the Messiah, as well as the destruction of Jerusalem and the Temple, after the 69th Week. In this he correctly follows Daniel, of course. Contrarily, Miller and Snow ended the 70th week almost 40 years before the destruction of Jerusalem. Here is the exact fulfilment that Frey gives. He identifies Daniel's 70th Week as the last 7 years prior to Messiah's return, when He will destroy the Desolator, who will yet again have trampled the rebuilt Temple and City, and scattered the regathered Jews; another absolute rebuttal of Miller's and Snow's doctrines! From this quote, anyone can see, Frey's teaching has nothing to do with setting dates for the Second Coming, or concocting a prophetic chronology passed off as the saving gospel:

7. The next events to take place at the close of the 62 Weeks, are the besieging of the city of Jerusalem, and its utter destruction, together with the Temple. After the cutting off of the Messiah, the Prince, the destruction of the City and the Temple, and the dispersion of our nation was quickly to ensue, Dan 9:26. A people under the direction of a prince, leader or commander, should enter into the land of Judea, make war there, destroy the city of Jerusalem and the famous Temple; and the destruction should be as universal as a mighty flood or violent inundation; it should overspread the country, and carry all before it; for from the beginning of the war to the end thereof, utter ruin and destruction is determined by God upon the people and nation. During the last Week or seven years, a covenant was to be confirmed, the sacrifices and oblations were to cease, and our nation scattered, until the Desolator be utterly destroyed 8 ... I trust, my dear Benjamin, that you will be convinced that the Messiah was to appear, and to die before the Second Temple was destroyed, and before the sacrifices ceased, and before our nation be scattered abroad. But the temple has been destroyed, the sacrifices have ceased, and our nation has been scattered; therefore we justly conclude that the Messiah must have appeared long ago. This conclusion is the result of the united and harmonious testimony of the Patriarch Jacob, of the inspired prophets Haggai and Malachi, and of the humble and pious Daniel, who received his knowledge from the angel Gabriel, sent for the express purpose to make known the times and the events of the coming of the Messiah. As an additional argument, I might here mention a number of our wise men's sayings, which show that the Messiah must have come long ago. For example, R. Nehemiah, who lived about 50 years before the coming of Christ, declared that the time of the Messiah, as signified by Daniel, could not be protracted beyond 50 years. Joseph S. C. F. As for Froom's footnote 12 of pages 254 259 in Volume II of Joseph and Benjamin, again he has falsely claimed that it endorsed Millerite doctrine. The following quote

repudiates any lingering suspicion that Frey's beliefs in any way support Snow's claims or current Seventh-day Adventist doctrines:

The restoration of our beloved nation, the overturning of the Ottoman empire, the destruction of the Western Antichrist, &c. &c. are events which must take place before the Second Coming of Christ, whether that be to judgement or to commence the millennium, whether it be understood literally or figuratively. 3. It is difficult indeed, if not altogether impossible, to fix the exact time or year when these events are to take place; for, although certain periods of time are mentioned in the sacred Scriptures, yet as we are not sure when these periods commenced, we cannot of course be certain when they will end. Joseph Frey, Joseph and Benjamin Volume II, p. 255.

Frey was firmly convinced that God would regather the Jewish nation to their own land, and rebuild their city Jerusalem and the Temple, though he dared not guess how or when. Thus far, more than 100 years after Frey wrote this, the Jews are regathered into Israel, and Jerusalem is rebuilt, in most magnificent fulfilment of what many faithless souls deemed to be the most unlikely Bible prophecy. Temple preparations are well advanced, awaiting a suitable time for its reconstruction. Frey has been proven faithful and correct in this. Contrary to Frey's faithfulness in the prophecies of the Lord regarding His restoration of the Jews to their own Land, the anti-Semitic Seventh-day Adventist prophet had this to say:

Then I was pointed to some who are in the great error of believing that it is their duty to go to Old Jerusalem, and think they have a work to do there before the Lord comes. Such a view is calculated to take the mind and interest from the present work of the Lord, under the message of the third angel; for those who think that they are yet to go to Jerusalem will have their minds there, and their means will be withheld from the cause of present truth to get themselves and others there. I saw that such a mission would accomplish no real good, that it would take a long while to make a very few of the Jews believe even in the first advent of Christ, much more to believe in His second advent. I saw that Satan had greatly deceived some in this thing and that souls all around them in this land could be helped by them and led to keep the commandments of God, but they were leaving them to perish. I also saw that Old Jerusalem never would be built up; and that Satan was doing his utmost to lead the minds of the children of the Lord into these things now, in the gathering time, to keep them from throwing their whole interest into the present work of the Lord, and to cause them to neglect the necessary preparation for the day of the Lord. 23-year-old Ellen White was shown by her Spirit Guide that it was a great error and a Satanic deception for any Christian to think it his duty to go to Old Jerusalem or to preach the Good News of the King of the Jews to the Jews. It would do no good, and they

would be spending their own money to travel there, which they could more profitably send to her, so that she could travel the country propagating her anti-Semitic gospel of Judaistic legalism. Old Jerusalem never would be built up. Who was correct in the 1840's? Joseph Frey the educated German Jew, the Hebrew scholar, the credentialled minister who said that God will fulfil His promise to rebuild Jerusalem, and preached fervently that it is the duty of Christians to support the rebuilding and the evangelisation of the Jewish nation? Or Ellen White, the unlettered anti-Semitic girl who preferred to leave millions of Jews to perish cruelly through the denial of their own homeland? The true prophet of God who said that it is Satan who leads people to evangelise the Jews? It was this same infesting spirit of anti-Semitic hatred which led German and Austrian Seventh-day Adventist churches to persecute the Jews while collaborating with the Nazis, thus avoiding persecution themselves. They even expelled converted Jews from their own churches and thus condemned them to concentration camps, to avoid recrimination from the Nazis. Rotten trees can produce only rotten fruit. (Search 'Church Leaders Say "We're Sorry, German and Austrian churches apologize for Holocaust actions by MARK A. KELLNER.') In every point, Frey's evidence disproves Snow's chronology and prophet Ellen White's endorsement of Snow. Frey stands as a witness against the deceit of LeRoy Froom. One wonders how the highly-regarded Froom could have purposely set out to deceive unwitting Seventh-day Adventists by misrepresenting the work of such a godly man as Joseph Frey.

WILLIAM MILLER'S 1843 CHART William Miller based his preaching on the improbable dates he calculated, as recorded on his Chart below. With this Chart, Miller managed to deceive 50,000 simple New England souls that Jesus would definitely return to destroy the earth with fire in the spring of 1843, and that the saving gospel consisted in belief in his skewed message. All who disagreed with his preposterous chronology were doomed to fiery destruction. Why he would have imagined that Jesus was concerned only with saving the few souls in New England who were foolish enough to listen to this message, and that every person in the rest of the earth would be incinerated for lack of opportunity, is never revealed. Miller created 15 tortured lines of chronology which all terminated in the year 1843 AD, with the Second Coming and destruction of the earth. He had seized upon many numerical figures in the Bible, most of them having nothing to do with prophecy, and juggled them all into his ludicrous system. The catastrophic failure of the Second Coming to eventuate in 1843 and then again in 1844, should have finally fixed in the minds of all that every one of Miller's 15 Proofs was a lie. Yet Miller is revered to this day by the Seventh-day Adventist Church, although he himself repudiated his failed scheme. Seeing an opportunity for fame and fortune, other false prophets swooped in to fill the void, trading on Miller's name while altering all his dates and turning most of his doctrines on their heads.

Here is how the SDA date of the Crucifixion evolved from its beginnings under Miller: William Miller believed there was a year o BC, in which Jesus was born. He taught that John the Baptist began preaching in spring 26 AD, at the end of Daniel's 69th week. He stated that Jesus was baptised 3 years later, in autumn 30 AD. He calculated that the 490 years began when Ezra left Babylonia (Ezra 8:31) on 12 Nisan; and that the 490 years ended at the Cross, at the precise end of the 490 years; therefore that Jesus died on 12 Nisan, 31 AD. All of Miller's cock-eyed dates were included on his 1843 Chart, which he used as a teaching aid during his preaching engagements. Miller wrote: The Bible chronology says that Ezra started to go up to Jerusalem on the 12 th day of the first month, 457 years before the birth of Christ; he being 33 when he died, added to 457, will make 490 years. Three of the evangelists tell us he was betrayed two days before the feast of the passover, and of course was the same day crucified. The passover was always kept on the 14th day of the first month forever, and Christ being crucified two days before, would make it on the 12th day, 490 years from the time Ezra left the river Ahava to go unto Jerusalem. If this calculation is correct, and I think no one can doubt it, then the seventy weeks was fulfilled to a day when our Saviour suffered on the cross. According to this instruction I showed you that 490 years were accomplished of this vision, to a day, at the crucifixion of Christ, both events happening on the 12th day of the first month, 490 years apart. The gospel of Jesus Christ preached by John 3 years, and by Christ 3 years, making 7 years, called one week, and then Messiah cut off, and not for himself, Christ crucified, ends the 70 Weeks, proves Daniel's prophecy true. William Miller, Evidence of the Second Coming in 1843. In 1844 after Miller's dates had failed twice already, Samuel Snow, a recent convert to Millerism and a forceful preacher, altered all of Miller's dates. He published his false True Midnight Cry with his own date for the Cross at the middle of Daniel's 70th Week rather than the end of it and at Passover on 14 Nisan (rather than 12 Nisan), which he incorrectly dated as Friday 27 April, 31 AD. He claimed to have used true Caraite reckoning to find this false date which answers to no Jewish calendar of any description. He strongly denounced the Rabbinic calendations as false, and stated that the Karaites were undoubtedly correct. Snow claimed that the Passover was invariably observed one month later in Jesus' time than the Rabbins calculated, because if the year be commenced according to the Rabbins with the New Moon in March, the barley harvest could not possibly be ripe in 16 days from that time. The Caraites are therefore undoubtedly correct. The 17-year-old uneducated hysterical girl prophet Ellen Harmon was shown by her Spirit Guide that Snow's True Midnight Cry was the light guiding the steps of the New England Millerite saints on the path to heaven. (Early Writings p. 14.) To Hell with the hundreds of millions of Christians and souls yet to hear the gospel, throughout the rest of the earth. (Literally.)

This True Midnight Cry was to give power to the second angel's message. (Early Writings p. 238.) The 3 angels' messages, based on Snow's True Midnight Cry, were now the firm platform built by God, on which alone, salvation could be found. (Early Writings p. 258 261.) Ellen White wrote of the 3 angels' messages: "Woe to him who shall move a block or stir a pin of these messages. The true understanding of these messages is of vital importance. The destiny of souls hangs upon the manner in which they are received. Ellen White, Early Writings, pp. 259,260. In 1883, Ellen White stridently confirmed the dates in Snow's chronology: Our faith in reference to the messages of the first, second and third angels was correct. The great way-marks we have passed are immovable. Although the hosts of hell may try to tear them from their foundation, and triumph in the thought that they have succeeded, yet they do not succeed. These pillars of truth stand firm as the eternal hills, unmoved by all the efforts of men combined with those of Satan and his host. White, Ellen G., Review and Herald, Nov 27 1883, p. 737. However, God's Messenger Ellen White also made the following dogmatic statement about William Miller's original chronology. She was apparently unable to discern how it absolutely contradicts her endorsement of Samuel Snow's True Midnight Cry which had altered all of Miller's dates, thus setting the date of the yet-to-beinvented Investigative Judgement doctrine. These two statements from God's true prophet are mutually exclusive, and therefore at least one of them is false. However, a single false prophecy proves the prophet false, which disqualifies both statements: I have seen that the 1843 chart was directed by the hand of the Lord, and that it should not be altered; that the figures were as He wanted them; that His hand was over and hid a mistake in some of the figures, so that none could see it, until His hand was removed. Ellen White, Early Writings, p. 73. 90 years after Samuel Snow's alteration of the Cross date to 27 April 31 AD, people were still pointing out to the Seventh-day Adventists that nothing had happened in 1844, and that Jesus could not have been crucified on a Friday 14 Nisan Passover in 31 AD, for there was no Friday Passover in that year, no matter how it be calculated. Therefore the Seventh-day Adventist Church commissioned the Historical Research Committee chaired by LeRoy Froom, to investigate this Millerite Time Problem. In 1939, LeRoy Froom and his Research Committee confirmed 14 Nisan as the date of the Crucifixion: It was the exactness of this Passover fulfilment that had won Frey to Christianity, as he calculated the Crucifixion year on the basis of the 70-Week prophecy and year-day principle, and the month and day on the basis of the stipulated 14th day of the 1st month for the sacrifice of the typical Passover. This gave force to Snow's paralleling contention regarding the Atonement Day which had been previously intimated by Miller. Condemning the Rabbins for allegedly altering the Passover from 14 to 15 Nisan, Froom wrote: The modern Jewish Passover, as Nisan 15, coincides with the Full Moon unless a day illicita interferes, which advances the Feast one day. The ancient command of Passover on the 14th is no longer observed. Nisan 15, as the day of the Full Moon, obliterates the divinely-appointed astronomical interval between conjunction and the first day of Nisan.

In his Research Committee Reports, where he triumphantly concluded that the SDA chronology and dates had been thoroughly vindicated LeRoy Froom lied. At the very least, Froom lied about the part supposedly played by respected Jewish Christian scholar Joseph Samuel C. F. Frey, in influencing Samuel Snow's dates for the Cross and the Day of Atonement. Froom also lied about the dates for the Cross in 31 AD, and the Day of Atonement in 1844. TIME-LINE of SDA CRUCIFIXION DATE ALTERATIONS

1733: Sir Isaac Newton : Jesus' death at Passover was on Friday 23 April, 34 AD. He also stated that 33 AD was a possibility, when 14 Nisan was on Friday 3 April. 1830's: William Miller : Jesus was crucified two days before Passover, on 12 Nisan, which he believed to be in 33 AD. He said the Cross must be exactly 490 years from Ezra leaving Babylonia on 12 Nisan (Ezra 8:31). 1843: William Miller was proven a false prophet when Jesus failed to return on his date in Nisan. 1844: William Miller was doubly confirmed as a false prophet when Jesus once again failed to return in Nisan. 1844: Samuel Snow changed Miller's dates, and settled on 27 April, 31 AD for the Friday 14 Nisan Passover Crucifixion, in his August publication The True Midnight Cry. 1844: Samuel Snow was proven a false prophet when the Second Coming failed to eventuate on his Day of Atonement date. 1844: Ellen Harmon confirmed Samuel Snow's false True Midnight Cry with visions beginning 2 months after the failure of his false prophecy of the Second Coming on 22 October. That means: The Lord wanted His people to believe that Jesus was crucified on 14th Nisan; Friday 27 April, 31 AD, in the middle of the 69th Week. (Karaite Passover date was actually Tuesday 27 March 31 AD.) 1845: Samuel Snow abandoned the Millerite Movement, and began his own church, claiming to be the Prophet Elijah with all authority to rule the world given to him by Jesus Christ. He re-set the date for the Second Coming on the Day of Atonement in 1845, and was doubly confirmed as a false prophet. 1845: The Millerites rejected Snow at this point, but kept his false dates. 1851: Ellen White confirmed that the failed false dates on William Miller's original 1843 Chart were as the Lord wanted them and that the dates should not be altered. That means: The Lord wanted His people to believe that Jesus was crucified on 12th Nisan (which was Wednesday 1 April 33 AD), at the end of the 70 th Week. 1883: Ellen White confirmed that all the hosts of Hell could not tear the pillars of truth, firm as the eternal hills, from their foundation (doctrines based on Snow's chronology). 1896: Ellen White wrote that Jesus was crucified on Friday, the day after the Passover was killed, in late March or early April, therefore on 15 Nisan. No year was specified. (Ellen White, The Story of Jesus / Desire of Ages.) That means: All previous dates for the Crucifixion, endorsed by Ellen White herself as God's Messenger, were incorrect. 1939: LeRoy Froom triumphantly concluded after years of research and thousands of pages of misleading data, that the 31 AD 14 Nisan Passover date, and the 22 October 1844 Day of Atonement dates set by Samuel Snow, were unimpeached and unimpeachable.

ERRORS MAINTAINED TODAY : The SDA Church strongly upholds the dates claimed way back in 1844 by false prophet Samuel Snow, whom they had so quickly rejected for excesses after the failure of his date for the Second Coming. Although their own Prophet confirmed three different dates for the Crucifixion, the SDA Church continues to accept Ellen White's statements as having the same level of divine inspiration as the Bible. HOW & WHEN did ELLEN WHITE CHANGE the DATE of the CROSS? 1. ELLEN WHITE changed the Crucifixion Passover from Samuel Snow's false Caraite date, Friday 27 April 31 AD, to a Friday at the end of March/early April. She wrote: Every year Joseph and Mary went up to Jerusalem, to the feast of the Passover. When Jesus was twelve years old, they took Him with them. {SJ 31.3} The feast was held near the close of March or the beginning of April. {SJ 31.5} The Saviour was buried on Friday, the sixth day of the week. {SJ 157.3} Ellen G. White, The Story of Jesus, 1896. 2. ELLEN WHITE changed the date of the Crucifixion from 14 Nisan to 15 Nisan, when she described how Jesus ate the Passover on the same night the Israelites left Egypt (which of course was 15 Nisan): At the Passover Supper. So every year, the same night on which they left Egypt, all the Israelites kept the feast of the Passover at Jerusalem. And at this feast each family had a roasted lamb, with bread and bitter herbs, as their forefathers had in Egypt. {SJ 93.7} The time had now come when Christ was to keep the feast with His disciples, and He told Peter and John to find a place, and make ready the Passover supper. {SJ 94.1} This was the last time that Christ was to keep the feast with His disciples. It was really the last Passover that was ever to be kept. {SJ 95.2} After eating the Passover supper with His disciples, Jesus went with them to the garden of Gethsemane, where He often went to pray. {SJ 101.2} Ellen G. White, The Story of Jesus, 1896. In the upper chamber of a dwelling at Jerusalem, Christ was sitting at table with His disciples. They had gathered to celebrate the Passover. The Saviour desired to keep this feast alone with the twelve. He knew that His hour was come; He Himself was the true paschal lamb, and on the day the Passover was eaten He was to be sacrificed. He was about to drink the cup of wrath; He must soon receive the final baptism of suffering. But a few quiet hours yet remained to Him, and these were to be spent for the benefit of His beloved disciples. Ellen White, Desire of Ages, 1898, p. 642.

God's Word says the Israelites left Egypt on the 15th of Nisan: Numbers 33:3 They set out from Rameses in the first month, on the 15th day of the first month. On the day after the Passover, the people of Israel went out triumphantly in the sight of all the Egyptians. The Passover lambs were sacrificed on 14 Nisan. The Passover Seder was eaten after sunset, after the 14th had ended. That evening was beginning of the 15th of Nisan. A few hours later, the Israelites left Egypt, also on the 15th Nisan, the day after the Passover. If Jesus ate the Passover lamb after sunset on 15 Nisan, then He was crucified the following day on 15 Nisan. Some suggest that Jesus and the disciples ate the Passover one day early, on 13 Nisan. But Ellen White shows that she did not believe this; for she wrote that Jesus ate the Passover on the same day that the Israelites left Egypt. Perhaps none of the above knew the truth, but it is certain that they could not all have been correct.

If their true prophet was correct in 1896, then Jesus died : one month earlier than the SDA Church has always taught; on a Friday; on the day after the Passover; on Nisan 15, not Nisan 14. Therefore not in 31 AD.

Therefore all other SDA dates 457 BC, 27 AD, 34 AD and 22 October 1844 AD must also be false. The entire foundation of Seventh-day Adventist Chronology collapses under the crushing weight of lies and deception. WHAT A TANGLED WEB THEY WEAVE We have already seen that William Miller and Samuel Snow were false prophets whose dates failed, yet today's SDA Church is firmly founded on their doctrines and dates. If Ellen White's 1896 statement that Jesus ate the Passover on the same date as the Israelites left Egypt, is true then Jesus was crucified on 15 Nisan, not 14 Nisan. William Miller's dates were all false therefore Ellen Harmon's 1851 vision confirming that the Lord wanted Miller to publish the dates on his Chart just as they were, and not change them is false. Samuel Snow's dates all proved false therefore Ellen Harmon's 1844 vision confirming Snow and his message as the True Midnight Cry was false. If Ellen White's confirmation of William Miller's false dates on his 1843 Chart was true, then her visions confirming Samuel Snow's True Midnight Cry which altered all 5 of Miller's dates, as well as her inspired book The Story of Jesus were false. If Ellen White's confirmation of Samuel Snow's false dates was true, then her 1851 vision of Miller's 1843 Chart, as well as her inspired book The Story of Jesus were false. If she was a false prophet in the first instance, then she was condemned according to the Word of God.

Jeremiah 14:14 And the LORD said to me: "The prophets are prophesying lies in my name. I did not send them, nor did I command them or speak to them. They are prophesying to you a lying vision, worthless divination, and the deceit of their own minds. Deuteronomy 13:5 But that prophet or that dreamer of dreams shall be put to death, because he has taught rebellion against the LORD your God

to make you leave the way in which the LORD your God commanded you to walk. So you shall purge the evil from your midst.

Nobody was authorised to ever give Ellen Harmon a second chance to propagate her lying visions. God's remedy for false prophets is to mercilessly purge the evil from our midst not to allow their leaven to ferment and contaminate the congregation. There is no scriptural basis for allowing a false prophet to exist within the church. A true prophet of God cannot give a false prophecy not even one. A single false prophecy is all it takes to identify a false prophet. We are to use our spiritual discernment to sort the false prophets from the true prophets not to select the true prophecies from among the mixture of prophecies given by a false prophet. All prophecy comes from God. There is never a case of a true prophet giving a false prophecy. 2 Peter 1:19.20 We have the prophetic word more fully confirmed ... knowing this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture comes from someone's own interpretation. If Ellen White's 1896 inspired books The Story of Jesus and The Desire of Ages are true, then LeRoy Froom and the Historical Research Committee lied in 1939 when they claimed to have vindicated Snow's false dates, and that the SDA chronology had never been revised nor needed revision. If Ellen White's Friday 15th Nisan Crucifixion in late March / early April is true, then all SDA chronology and doctrine is false. If the SDA Church's date of 14 Nisan is correct, then their true prophet is false which makes the SDA Church false, as they refer to her as the only infallible interpreter of the scriptures. There is simply no escaping the fact Ellen White was a false prophet prophesying lying visions, preaching a false gospel, leading a false church down the path to destruction.

Which year contained a Friday 15 Nisan in late March or early April?


Using true Karaite reckoning, beginning the month on the day following observation of the first crescent of the new moon the previous night ~ the only dates anywhere near Jesus' ministry which meet all three of Ellen White's criteria (Friday; 15th Nisan; late March or early April), are : Friday 11 April 27 AD, and Friday 22 March, 37 AD.

Obviously, neither of these dates can be correct, unless Jesus was born in either 8/7 BC or 3/4 AD. Some do believe He was born in 7 BC; in that case, Tiberius' reign must have begun in 9/10 AD, 15 years before Jesus was about 30, which nobody accepts for a second. (Luke 3:1; 23.) Herod must have begun to rebuild the Temple in 23/22 BC (John 2:20), which again is unacceptable. Nobody imagines that Jesus was born in 4 AD. How did God punish Ellen for altering the dates on William Miller's divinely-directed 1843 Chart? What woe befell Ellen White for moving a block and stirring a pin of those 3 angels' messages preached by Samuel Snow? How was Ellen White able to alter these divinely-inspired dates at will, when these pillars of truth stand firm as the eternal hills, unmoved by all the efforts of men combined with those of Satan and his host? How could a true prophet of God confirm three diametrically opposed dates for such a critical event on which their church is founded? Why did the Research Committee never mention this shattering adjustment of Seventhday Adventism's firm platform? Why did LeRoy Froom lie? What is the consequence of the altered SDA chronology on the continuing existence of the Seventh-day Adventist Church? And why has nobody noticed?

The Day that Jesus Died


This is a problem which has perplexed scholars for centuries. The best and most educated minds cannot agree amongst themselves. Leaving aside the fringe element which has Jesus crucified on any day other than Friday, there are still numerous points of view for which sound, scriptural and historical arguments have been proposed over the centuries. 1. The Synoptic gospels unanimously declare that the disciples prepared the Passover : Now on the first day of Unleavened Bread the disciples came to Jesus, saying, "Where will you have us prepare for you to eat the Passover?" (Matt 26:17); On the first day of Unleavened Bread, when they sacrificed the Passover lamb (Mark 14:12); On the day of Unleavened Bread, on which the Passover lamb had to be sacrificed, (Luke 22:7). The lambs had to be sacrificed on 14 Nisan, in the afternoon before sunset. Jesus ate the Passover meal with his disciples after sunset on the night He was betrayed, Thursday. He spent the remainder of that night being taunted and tortured by the

Jews, and was crucified the following morning, Friday. Since the day when the Passover lambs were sacrificed was the afternoon of 14 Nisan, and the Passover lamb was actually eaten after sunset that means 15 Nisan is the date on which the Passover was eaten. In this case, Jesus died the following day on Friday 15 Nisan, at the time of the evening sacrifice, as the antitypical daily burnt offering for sin. 2. The gospel of John, to some at least, suggests that the last supper was not the Passover meal, since it seems the priests were intending to eat the Passover after sunset on Friday (John 18:28). Therefore the lambs would be sacrificed that afternoon, which must have been Friday 14 Nisan. In this case, Jesus died on 14 Nisan, at the time the Passover lambs were being sacrificed, fulfilling the prophecy not a bone of the lamb is to be broken. (Numbers 9:12; Psalm 34:20; John 19:36.) Therefore His disciples must have sacrificed their own Passover lamb on the afternoon of 13 Nisan; and they must have eaten their Passover 24 hours early on that night, 14 Nisan. 3. Josephus gives us some statistics about the Passover in those days. He says the high priests counted 256,500 lambs killed at one Passover, to feed almost 3 million Jews who came to Jerusalem for the Feast of Unleavened Bread. These lambs were to be sacrificed in Jerusalem between the 9th and 11th hours of 14 Nisan. (Josephus, Wars of the Jews, Book 6 Chapter 9 Section 3.) If these lambs all had to be killed at the Temple, this gives a window of either 2 or 3 hours for the task. This means either 90,000 or 130,000 lambs were killed per hour, which defies belief. That is either 1,500 or 2,200 lambs slaughtered per minute. That is, 25 37 lambs killed (also bled, skinned, gutted, washed and waste disposed of) per second. This is a throughput which not even a modern, automated abattoir could match. The penning area required for so many live sheep is a staggering size. Allowing just 1 square metre per sheep and a single worshipper, this would require over 26 hectares, or 66 acres. If all 10 or more Jews per sheep eaten must be present, then this area would be much greater. Imagine the congestion of 3 million people and their sheep passing through the Temple in the space of 2 hours. Joseph Frey considered that because of this phenomenal task, it may well have been spread over more than one day in the time of Christ. The Jewish Rabbi Joseph Frey believed that Jesus died as our antitypical Passover lamb on 14 Nisan, and he was happy to allow that Jesus (Himself both the originator and the fulfilment of the Passover Lamb; the Alpha and Omega; type and antitype) could have legitimately eaten the Passover with His disciples, on the previous night, 13 Nisan. In this case, Jesus died on 14 Nisan, at the time the Passover lambs were being sacrificed. 4. PHILO JUDAEUS (ca. 20 BC 50 AD) wrote that the Passover lambs were sacrificed between noon and sunset. He also wrote that the head of each household killed his own lamb, apparently at home rather than at the Temple, which solves the knotty problem of the priests having to deal with slaughtering a quarter of a million lambs in the Temple within a couple of hours. This is the reason for the regulations about the participants purifying themselves for several days prior to the Passover each person was then deemed a priest for this one day, and his house temporarily honoured as a temple. Philo confirmed that the lambs were sacrificed on the afternoon of the 14th day; since the lamb was eaten after sunset, this was by then 15 Nisan, the same date that the Israelites left Egypt. THE FOURTH FESTIVAL. PASSOVER. And after the feast of the new moon comes the fourth festival, that of the passover, which the Hebrews call pascha, on which the whole people offer

sacrifice, beginning at noon-day and continuing till evening And each house is at that time invested with the character and dignity of a temple, the victim being sacrificed so as to make a suitable feast for the man who has provided it and of those who are collected to share in the feast, being all duly purified with holy ablutions And this universal sacrifice of the whole people is celebrated on the 14th day Philo Judaeus, Treatise on Festivals. 5. The Pharisees and the Sadducees were the two main parties of the Jews whose interpretations and practices were quite different, each claiming to follow the Bible more correctly than the other; one point of contention was the dates on which Barley Firstfruits (Wave-sheaf) and Wheat Firstfruits (Pentecost) fell. The Pharisees (of which party Josephus was a priest) invariably observed the Firstfruits of Barley on 16 Nisan, whichever day of the week this fell. They then observed the Firstfruits of Wheat 7 weeks later, on 6 Sivan. The Sadducees argued that unlike all other Feasts which are specifically dated, neither of these Feasts is ever dated in the Bible, because the Lord commanded they both be observed on the first day of the week, after the weekly Sabbath. So the Pharisees and Sadducees had calendrical differences even in those days. Of course, the Pharisees are now represented by the Rabbins, whose calculated calendar the Seventh-day Adventists claim to reject; yet all the Millerites and Seventh-day Adventists ever since 1844, have endorsed the Rabbanite fixed date of 16 Nisan for the Barley Wave-sheaf, while claiming that only the Karaites observed God's calendar correctly. The hypocrisy of this escapes them. The Sadducees are now known as the Karaites, who according to Samuel Snow, are undoubtedly correct. But Snow only pretended to use the Karaite calendar for the date of the Cross. Jesus we know, is the Firstfruits of those who rise from the dead, which means that the Barley Sheaf was waved on the Sunday when Christ rose, whichever date that may have happened to be. There is some speculation that the Sadducees may have used a calendar based on visual observance of the first crescent of the new moon, while the Pharisees may have used calculations similar or identical to those used today, which we know were familiar to them at that time. The Jews learned astronomical skills while in Babylon. They absorbed Chaldaic names for the months, and possibly altered their calendar to resemble that of Babylon. Sadducee is derived from Zadokite; the consecrated priests, the sons of Zadok, who kept my charge, who did not go astray when the people of Israel went astray, as the Levites did, who will serve the Lord in the new Temple in Jerusalem (Ezekiel 43:19; 44:15-31; 48:11). In this case, the Sadducees' and Pharisees' Passover 14 Nisan may have fallen on consecutive dates, due to this disagreement. If Jesus' disciples prepared the Passover lamb on the afternoon of 14 Nisan, then ate the Passover on the night of 15 Nisan according to one calendar, the following day could still have been 14 Nisan according to the other calendar, when Jesus was crucified as the Passover Lamb of God. 6. The Essenes were the third major sect of the Jews, whose calendar was different again. They called the Pharisees the wicked priest who had abandoned God's true calendar. However their 364-day solar year invariably began on the Wednesday closest to the Vernal Equinox. Their 14 Nisan invariably fell on Tuesday each year. So the Essene calendar can be eliminated from contention for finding the date of the Friday Cross. But their Wave-sheaf was observed invariably on the first Sunday after the end of the Feast of Unleavened Bread, on 26th Nisan. So the Essene Wavesheaf sometimes fell, coincidentally, on the same day as the other sects' did. 7. The Essenes not only kept a different (solar) calendar from other Jews, but they

also left us calendrical documents, in which they painstakingly paralleled the dates of many consecutive years on their own solar calendar, with the lunar calendar kept by the Pharisees. The Dead Sea Scrolls abound with various calendars of the Jews. One interpretation of this suggests that the Pharisees began their lunar months, not on the day following the first visibility of the crescent of the new moon at sunset but on the day following the last visibility of the old moon at dawn. Using this criterion, in 31 AD, the 14th of that month would have been Sunday 22nd April; 5 days earlier than the SDA date. This method also, refutes the SDA date and year for the Cross. 8. Alfred Edersheim, another 19th century Christian Jewish scholar much plagiarised by the SDA prophet, disagreed with Joseph Frey. He believed that Jesus' disciples prepared the Passover in the afternoon according to scripture, on Thursday 14 Nisan; that they ate the Passover that evening (the beginning of 15 Nisan), and that Jesus died the following day on Friday 15 Nisan. Edersheim rejected the argument that because 15 Nisan was a Holy Convocation on which work was forbidden, the chief priests would not have been involved in Jesus' trial and execution. He also said that according to the Jewish traditions, the mourners were not forbidden to attend to Christ's burial on the 15th. He argued that the Passover to be eaten by the priests on the Friday night was the feast of the Chagigah, distinct from the Passover lamb; and that the entire 8 days of the Feast were colloquially referred to as The Passover. He also maintained the Pharisaic date of 16 Nisan for the Barley Wave-sheaf; if 15 Nisan was Friday, then 16 Nisan would have been the weekly Sabbath. So according to Edersheim, Jesus did not fulfil the Passover Lamb prophecies on 14 Nisan, nor the antitypical Firstfruits on 16 Nisan, because He must have risen on Sunday 17 Nisan. 9. The Sabbath High Day (John 19:31) which fell on the weekly Sabbath after Jesus died, would be called in Hebrew, Shabbat Hagadol. This is an annual observance, normally falling on the Sabbath prior to the Feast of Unleavened Bread. However in years when 14 Nisan landed on the weekly Sabbath, and the work of slaughtering the lambs could not be performed on that day, the Shabbat Hagadol was moved back one week to 14 Nisan, and the lambs would be killed on the previous day, Friday 13 Nisan. In this case, Jesus could have eaten the Passover one day early on 13 Nisan, after sunset of 12 Nisan, and died on Friday 13 Nisan, according to the Sadducee calendar. Saturday 14 Nisan would have been the High Day Sabbath, and Sunday 15 Nisan would have been the Wave-sheaf on the day after the weekly Sabbath, according to the Sadducee calendar. However, this Friday could also have been the Pharisees' 14 Nisan when they killed the Passover lambs; they would eat the Passover after sunset on Friday; and to them, Sunday would be 16 Nisan, when they too would observe the Wave-sheaf. ELLEN G. WHITE DECREES PASSOVER ONE MONTH EARLIER Alfred Edersheim made many references to the Passover being held at the end of March or the beginning of April in his comprehensive two-volume book, The Life and Times of Jesus the Messiah, published in 1883 shortly before Ellen White's book The Story of Jesus appeared in 1896, and The Desire of Ages in 1898. It is clearly Edersheim's work which influenced Ellen White's later about-face on the date of the Crucifixion. The literary bower-bird collected plausible and improbable arguments from all current popular published sources and combined them in an eclectic mish-mash of dogma without considering the continuity of doctrinal content, or resolving their effect on the

foundational pillars of her church. Samuel Snow had clamorously proclaimed in 1844 that the true Caraite calendar began invariably one month later than the Rabbinic, and therefore the Passover could not possibly fall earlier than late April / early May. He used this also as his reason for dating the 1844 Day of Atonement one month later than both the Rabbinic and Karaite Jews actually observed it. Snow's one-month-later dating of the Jewish Feasts is the bedrock foundation of the peculiar SDA chronology and theology which still supports their existence today, 170 years later. Ellen G. White surreptitiously cancelled this intrinsic foundational SDA doctrine in 1896 by stating that Passover was always held near the close of March or the beginning of April. Therefore in one short sentence, Ellen White nullified the previous 52 years of Seventh-day Adventist history, prophecy, chronology and theology. She also invalidated any rationale for the Seventh-day Adventist Church continuing to exist as God's one true Church for all eternity. She made a liar of herself when she later wrote, Of all the great religious movements since the days of the apostles, none have been more free from human imperfection and the wiles of Satan than was that of the autumn of 1844. Even now, after the lapse of many years, all who shared in that movement and who have stood firm upon the platform of truth, still feel the holy influence of that blessed work, and bear witness that it was of God. Ellen White, Great Controversy 1911 version p. 401

Scholars will always propose diverse dates for the Cross, according to their understanding of the scriptures and the Jewish calendars. But there is no calendar which can justify the Seventh-day Adventist date of 27 th April 31 AD as 14th Nisan. Nor is there any way to rationalise Ellen G. White's later claim that Jesus died on Friday 15th Nisan in late March or early April. There is no way to redeem the false chronology on which the Seventh-day Adventist Church is founded, and there is no possible excuse for its continued claim to have proven those false dates.

SAMUEL SNOW'S ERRORS: 1. He claimed the Karaite date for Passover 14 Nisan in 31 AD was Friday 27 April, but it was not. 2. He said he was using true Caraite reckoning, but Karaite calendars prove he was not. 3. He said that the calculations of Joseph S. C. F. Frey helped him to determine the date of the Cross, which was a lie. 4. He quoted no references for his Caraite claims. 5. He provided no calculations to show how he arrived at 27 April 31 AD for 14 Nisan. 6. He said that Barley could not possibly be ripe in time for Passover if Nisan began in

March; but this is false according to the current annual Karaite Aviv Barley Searches in Israel. 7. He said that the Rabbins copied the Romans in beginning their year close to the Vernal Equinox, which is false.

EYE-WITNESS TESTIMONY is FATAL to SAMUEL SNOW'S CLAIMS. Snow falsely stated that Nisan fell one month later than the Jews and all historical references confirm. Ancient Jewish authorities Aristobulus, Philo and Josephus all tell us that the Jewish year began around the Vernal Equinox, and that the Passover and Wave-sheaf were both celebrated about the night of the first full moon after the equinox. Obviously they knew from personal experience, that barley was sufficiently ripe at this time of the year. In their days, the Wave-sheaf was observed faithfully during each month of Nisan. Clearly, if barley was not aviv when the sun was in the sign of the Vernal Equinox, they could not have recorded that this is when the Feast of Unleavened Bread was observed every year.

PHILO (20 BC 50 AD) This Jewish historian informs us that the Passover occurred at or immediately after the Vernal Equinox. In 20 BC 50 AD, the Vernal Equinox was 23rd March, the day before the sun entered Aries. Philo associates the Passover in the first month of the year, with the Vernal Equinox. Therefore the Passover must have fallen within the range of dates when the sun was in Aries in Philo's day. It could not have fallen as late as 27th April in 31 AD, as on this date, the sun had already passed beyond Aries into Taurus 9 days previously.

PHILO TREATISE ON FESTIVALS THE FIFTH FESTIVAL. And there is another festival combined with the feast of the passover, having a use of food different from the usual one, and not customary; the use, namely, of unleavened bread, from which it derives its name This month, being the seventh both in number and order, according to the revolutions of the sun, is the first in power; on which account it is also called the first in the sacred scriptures. And the reason, as I imagine, is as follows. The Vernal Equinox is an imitation and representation of that beginning in accordance with which this world was created ...

On 27 April 31 AD, the SDA Passover Cross date, the sun is 35 days beyond the Vernal Equinox, past the sign of Aries, in the sign of Taurus. (Sun moves further left each day.) According to Philo, this was 1 month later than Passover it must have been the 2 nd month, Iyyar. Thus Philo's evidence disproves the SDA chronology. PHILO tells us that the moon becomes full on or immediately after the Passover. He also implies that there were circumstances when the Passover was celebrated on a day other than the 14th of Nisan : PHILO LIFE of MOSES XXIX. Moses puts down the beginning of the vernal equinox as the first month of the year Accordingly, in this month, about the 14th day of the month, when the orb of the moon is usually about to become full, the public universal feast of the passover is celebrated

JOSEPHUS (~ 37 100 AD; a Pharisee and priest) Josephus says the Passover was observed when the sun was in the constellation of Aries. In 30 AD, this was between 24th March and 19th April. So the Passover must have been kept on the 14th day of the lunar month immediately following the Vernal Equinox (22nd / 23rd March at that time on the Julian calendar). The Cross could not have fallen as late as 27th April in 31 AD, according to Josephus.

JOSEPHUS ANTIQUITIES of the JEWS Book 3 Chapter 10 Concerning the Festivals 5. In the month of Xanthicus, which is by us called Nisan , and is the beginning of our year, on the 14th day of the lunar month, when the sun is in Aries, (for in this month it was that we were delivered from bondage under the Egyptians,) the law ordained that we should every year slay that sacrifice which I before told you we slew when we came out of Egypt, and which was called the Passover.

People imagine that at the time of the Exodus, the Vernal Equinox would have been in a sign other than Aries. Thus they say, that the first Passover under Moses could not have fallen when the sun was in Aries. They dispute this testimony of Josephus. However in 1500 BC (above), the Vernal Equinox was on April 3rd, in Aries. Josephus was quite correct; Nisan (Aviv) was indeed the month during which the sun was in Aries from 14th March to 9th April, at the time of the Exodus. Thus Josephus' evidence disproves the SDA chronology.

ARISTOBULUS (~ 200 BC) In 200 BC, the Vernal Equinox was 24th March. The sun was then in the constellation of Aries from 24th March 18th April. Therefore, Aries was the sign of the Vernal Equinox, and the Full Moon which fell between these dates, was the first Full Moon after the Autumnal Equinoctial Point (in Virgo). So this Full Moon was necessarily that of the Feast of Unleavened Bread, according to Aristobulus and Eusebius. The moon on the night of Thursday 26th April 31 AD was only 98.6 % illuminated. It had been full the previous night, at 100%. However after sunset on Wednesday 25th April 31 AD, the Full Moon was exiting Libra and entering Scorpio, far beyond Virgo. Therefore, this cannot have been the month of the Passover. This SDA Nisan must actually have been one full month later that is, it was the month of Iyyar. The first Full Moon past the Autumnal Equinoctial Point in 31 AD was on Tuesday 27th March, not April. Thus, Aristobulus proves that in 31 AD, the Passover was actually one month earlier than Samuel Snow, Ellen White and LeRoy Froom etc. claimed. First Visibility of the New Moon was on the evening of Tuesday 13 March 31 AD. Thus Passover 14 Nisan was 14 days later on Tuesday March 27th, 31 AD.

Therefore the Cross could not possibly have fallen in 31 AD neither in March nor in April.

ARISTOBULUS (~ 200 BC):

'Aristobulus,' it is there said, 'maintained that at the Paschal festival the sun as well as the moon must necessarily have passed the equinoctial point; that the day of the Paschal festival began on the 14th of Nisan after the evening, when the moon stands diametrically opposed to the sun, as any one can see at the time of the Full Moon. The sun then stands in the sign of the Vernal Equinox.'

On the 14th day of this lunar month, 27 March 31 AD, the Sun had passed the Vernal Equinoctial Point (green '+' to right of Sun) and had been in Aries for some days already. According to Aristobulus, Passover 14 Nisan must have been 27 March 31 AD. Therefore Aristobulus' evidence disproves the SDA chronology.

On the night 0f 27 March 31 AD, the Full Moon had passed the Autumnal Equinoctial Point in Virgo (green '+' to right of Moon). According to Aristobulus, this must have been the Full Moon of the Passover Festival.

The testimony of eye-witness Jewish historians decimates the SDA Crucifixion date. Josephus, Aristobulus and Philo all confirm that in 31 AD, Passover must have fallen on Tuesday 27th March. All three Jewish eye-witnesses agree Passover could not possibly have fallen on 27th April in 31 AD.

LEROY FROOM HIJACKED ARISTOBULUS' WORDS: In 1939, after years of remunerated study into The Millerite Time Problem, LeRoy Froom and the SDA Historical Research Committee quoted Aristobulus and Eusebius, pretending that this quote supported SDA doctrines: 'Aristobulus,' it is there said, 'maintained that at the Paschal festival the sun as well as the moon must necessarily have passed the equinoctial point; that the day of the Paschal festival began on the 14th of Nisan after the evening, when the moon stands diametrically opposed to the sun, as any one can see at the time of the Full Moon. The sun then stands in the sign of the Vernal Equinox.' 'The Karaites understood this ancient rule for the Pascha. And on this basis, and from the fact that they undeviatingly taught that the Feast should always come in the time of the ripening barley, their name was used by Snow and his associates as authority for a Friday Passover in the year 31 AD.' LeRoy E. Froom, Research Committee Report # 2, 1939, p. 19. The Seventh-day Adventists misuse Aristobulus' words to support their own doomed theory, as they so often do. It is quite clear what Aristobulus was saying Passover was observed about the night of the first Full Moon which fell immediately after the sun passed the vernal equinoctial point; That is, the first Full Moon after the Vernal Equinox (Sun in Aries). The Passover Festival was celebrated after the evening of 14 Nisan; that is, it began after sunset of 14 Nisan, on the night of 15 Nisan; this Full Moon must be the first one to occur after the autumnal equinoctial point (in Virgo).

On the days surrounding Full Moon, the sun and moon are observed directly opposite one another on the eastern and western horizons. There must be a few hours' leeway allowed here, due to the variations of the lunar cycle. The 100% illuminated Full Moon can fall at sunset after the 13th, 14th or 15th of the month of Nisan. Sometimes the Full Moon does not appear until just after the sun has set. They do not always appear in the sky together, although they both face each other for about one hour before sunset on the previous evening. However, Aristobulus states that the sun will be standing in the sign of the Vernal

Equinox at the Passover. In ~ 200 BC, the Vernal Equinox was in the constellation of Aries. (Due to precession, it now falls in Pisces.) The sun was then in Aries from 22 nd March to 18th April. So, Aristobulus confirms that the Passover must have fallen between these two dates. It could not have fallen as late as 27th April during his days. Aristobulus also confirms that the Full Moon during the Passover Festival was the first one past the Autumnal Equinoctial Point, which was in Virgo. The full moon is always directly opposite the sun so since the sun was at or beyond the Vernal Equinoctial Point, therefore the full moon must be at or beyond the Autumnal Equinoctial Point on the same day. This is exactly what we find when the Passover is observed at the first full moon following the Vernal Equinox. The Millerites and SDAs totally ignore this crucial part of Aristobulus' eye-witness testimony, but twist the following sentence to suit themselves: ... that the day of the Paschal festival began on the 14th of Nisan after the evening, when the moon stands diametrically opposed to the sun, as any one can see at the time of the Full Moon. Aristobulus, quoted by Eusebius. Aristobulus also clears up this matter misconstrued by Seventh-day Adventists. They take licence to delay the 14th of Nisan in 31 AD, not only a full month beyond the time decreed by Aristobulus but two days later still. They had obviously realised that Samuel Snow was plucking numbers out of his hat when he stated that the Cross fell on Friday 27 April 31 AD, for it is obvious that the Karaite date for the 14th of this lunar month (which was actually IYYAR, the second month), was Wednesday 25th April, 31 AD. Therefore LeRoy Froom and his Committee stretched Aristobulus' words to reach to their Friday 14 Nisan. When Aristobulus said the day of the Paschal Festival began on the 14th Nisan after the evening, this is what he meant: Passover was eaten when 15 Nisan began after sunset of the day of the 14th. At this time, the sun and moon were almost directly opposite one another; the sun was setting on the western horizon while the full moon was rising on the eastern horizon, as anyone can see. Aristobulus was not giving precise astronomical information; he was referring to a visual observation that is clear to everybody, during the few days near the time of full moon. LeRoy Froom's Historical Research Committee clung to their perverse misconception that Aristobulus had said the 14th Nisan therefore could not begin until after the day following the Full Moon: If we accept the testimony of Aristobulus, 200 years before Christ that the Passover of the Jews followed the sunset of the day when the full moon rising in the east faces the setting sun in the west we can reasonably conclude that the Jewish Passover, which is repeatedly described in the Bible as the 14th day of Nisan, was the day following the full moon date, and not on it. Historical Research Committee Report, 1939, p. 4. As Full Moon occurred on the night of 25 April, Froom & co. designated 26 April, the day of Full Moon; they then allowed themselves yet another day before pretending that 14

Nisan was Friday 27 April. In order to do this, they were forced to mess about with Jewish records about the testimony of the witnesses whose job it was to observe of the New Moon. Froom claimed that this eye-witness testimony was sometimes not accepted for several days after the witnesses actually observed the first crescent of the New Moon. That this is a blatant lie, is clear for the beginning of a new month could not possibly be deferred more than one day, even if clouds obscured the first crescent. If the new month was not declared after 29 days due to inclement weather, then it was mandatory that it be declared on the very next day, whether or not the crescent could be observed for the lunar cycle cannot conceivably be extended beyond 30 days. Counting backwards from the date of Full Moon, the SDA Research Committee next decreed that 14 April 31 AD must have been the date of First Visibility, when the new crescent was first seen, according to Karaite reckoning. This is in spite of the fact that they provide a Table of New Moons from the U.S. Naval Observatory, which states that New Moon was Tuesday 10th April, 31 AD. (They appear to have confused the USNO's Conjunction or Astronomical New Moon with the observed first visible crescent, in various places.) This absurd conjuring clearly has nothing to do with the Jewish calendation, where the days were numbered from the first observation of the New Moon. To insist that the Jews waited two weeks or more after first visibility until they observed the Full Moon, and then counted backwards to date their month, is as ludicrous an idea as could be conceived. Yet this is exactly the depth to which LeRoy Froom and his partners in fraud were forced to stoop, in their doomed efforts to vindicate Samuel Snow's false date for the Crucifixion. Such is the tawdry calibre of research and science applied by the SDA Church's Historical Research Committee to save their own necks, and for the ongoing fleecing of their flock. It is obvious to anyone with access to computerised astronomy programs, that 14 April 31 AD was the fourth night that the moon was visible.

This is the 4th night that the moon was visible. In fact, at this degree of illumination, the moon is clearly visible in the sky with the sun throughout the entire day.

6:50 pm, Wednesday 11 April, 31 AD. Sunset 6:02 pm. Moonset 7:02 pm, so the very fine crescent was visible after the sky darkened. This was the true First Visibility of the New Moon in Jerusalem. Therefore the 1st day of this lunar month was Thursday 12th April 31 AD; the 14th day of this lunar month was WEDNESDAY 25 APRIL 31 AD. The false SDA date for the Cross, Friday 27 April, was the 16 th of this lunar month, which happened to be Iyyar not Nisan. The Crucifixion could not possibly have occurred on 27 th April in 31 AD.

HOIST on HIS OWN PETARD


LeRoy Froom was not content with falsifying historical testimony and astronomical data to prove that 14 Nisan came not just 1 month later than the Karaite date; but also 2 days later than the Karaite 14th of the lunar month. The other half of The Millerite Time Problem consisted of the second problematic date set by Samuel Snow, and confirmed by his true prophet, for the Day of Atonement in 1844. Froom knew full well that if either of these dates failed, then the Seventh-day Adventist Church who paid his stipend would be out of business. However, he had another tricky task in front of him. While Samuel Snow had pretended that true Caraite reckoning placed the 31 AD 14 Nisan Passover date 2 days after the 14th of that lunar month he had made a compensating error in dating the Day of Atonement in 1844, which he placed one day before the 10th day of that lunar month.

SAMUEL SNOW'S FRAUDULENT DATES 13 April 31 AD. 2 days after first visibility. Samuel Snow's date for first visibility of the New Moon. This moon was 3 days old. So his date for the 14th of the lunar month was 2 days too late.

12 October 1844. 1 day before first visibility. Samuel Snow's date for first visibility of the New Moon. This moon was invisible. So his date for the 10th of the lunar month was 1 day too early.

Froom had just spent years of his life attempting to prove that the Pharisees did not accept the first, perhaps the second, and maybe not the third eye-witness testimony for the first visibility of the New Moon. Now he was faced with the hairy problem of explaining how they could also begin the month before the new moon had been sighted at all! But LeRoy Froom was up to the task of prestidigitation. One of his ruses was to insert the phases of the moon in Boston, this land of the Midnight Cry, as the standard by which to calibrate the Hebrew calendar. The True Midnight Cry was resoundingly proven false back in 1844; surely that alone invalidates the idea that God is concerned with the time of the New Moon in Boston! Jerusalem is the City of God, the geographical focus of all Bible chronology and prophecy. Jerusalem is the place where Jesus' feet will first land when He returns. Jerusalem is the place of God's throne for ever, where Jesus will reign for one thousand

years over the whole earth. For the sake of consistency, therefore, the lunar phases in Jerusalem are given here. In 31 AD, what was really the 16th of the 2nd lunar month Iyyar, was dated the 14th of the 1st month Nisan, by Samuel Snow. Snow's Cross date was 1 month plus 2 days LATE. In 1844, what was actually the 9th of the 8th lunar month Cheshvan, Snow dated the 10th of the 7th month Tisri. Snow's Day of Atonement date was 1 month LATE less 1 day. Although he claimed to be using true Caraite reckoning to obtain both dates, he had gotten them both wrong, despite acknowledging that the Jewish month began on the western calendar date after the sunset when the first visible crescent of the New Moon was observed. Yet in 31 AD, his New Moon was the third observed crescent. In 1844, if 22 October was 10 Tisri, then the New Moon must necessarily have first been observable on 12 October at sunset. However, on this evening, the moon set just 9 minutes after the sun, and was only 0.7% illuminated. The moon was not visible this evening. On 13 October, the moon set 56 minutes after the sun set. The moon was 4.1% illuminated, and was clearly visible after sunset. Therefore the next date, 14 October, was the first day of this lunar month ~ and the 10th of this lunar month was 23rd October NOT the 22nd. If Samuel Snow had applied his false 1844 calculation also to the Crucifixion in 31 AD, then his date would have been 3 days earlier, on Tuesday 24th April, 31 AD. Conversely If Samuel Snow had applied the same false calculation to the Day of Atonement as he did to the Cross, then his date would have been 3 days later, on 25 October 1844. Samuel Snow was a fraud. Snow was ignorant of astronomy. Snow knew nothing of the true Caraite reckoning. Snow was a false prophet, for he claimed to be the Prophet Elijah. He was a theologically uneducated, deluded, conceited avaricious braggart who claimed Jesus had given him all power to reign over the earth. He was a false prophet who made predictions in God's name which failed to eventuate. Yet instead of denouncing this despicable charlatan as the Lord commands, the Seventhday Adventist Church has been turning itself inside out ever since defending Snow, twisting astronomical data in the attempt to validate his false dates, to glorify their own prophet who endorsed him, and to save their own skins.

LeRoy Froom, after having been paid to study this Millerite Time Problem for 2 years, penned these outrageous lies:

The accuracy with which the Millerite scholars were enabled to fix upon October 13 as Tisri 1 ... 11. The remarkable accuracy of the reasoning and reckoning of the 7 th month movement leaders ... Finding the correct beginning of the year and the right dating of the Crucifixion, these 1844 students of prophecy were led unerringly on to October 22 as the goal of their quest. Its computation was both sound and accurate, and the resultant conclusions true and inescapable. the Millerites rightly understood and consistently applied the Karaite reckoning the Karaite mode of reckoning this true sacred year, month and day, was intrinsically correct, and the Millerite conclusion valid. The crushing weight of lies which must be perpetrated in defense of Samuel Snow's original lie, is shocking. The Seventh-day Adventist Church has entangled itself inextricably in a web of false scientific jargon, misleading information and fraudulent misinterpretation of historic witnesses, all for the sake of that one glib and ignorant 1844 statement made by somebody spurned even by the SDA Church as a fanatical false prophet, on which it is firmly founded. The fact that their true prophet herself altered this date, is proof that Samuel Snow's claim was open to dispute.

LITANY of LIES from LEROY FROOM: In his boastful summation of the years of research and fudging done by the Seventh-day Adventist Historical Research Committee, Froom in 1940 presented to the Ministerial Association of Seventh-day Adventists, a wildly-inaccurate assessment of their 'success'. However false his conclusions may be, the effusive nature of his superlatives does at least reveal precisely how critical the central keystone of this matchless prophetic arch, the date of the Cross, is to the existence of the SDA Church, and to the integrity of the Spirit of Prophecy (Ellen G. White) who endorsed it. Without Samuel Snow's

Crucifixion date on the 14th Nisan, Friday 27th April 31 AD, the whole span of chronology comes crashing down, and with it, the SDA Church loses its raison d'tre. p. 8. This study is limited solely to the historical and scientific proofs as to the soundness and accuracy of the great structural dates of the 2300-year Sanctuary prophecy The basic positions on the three key dates, championed in the autumn of 1844, have never been revised nor have they needed revision by the Seventh-day Adventist movement that eventuated, and which built its full-rounded superstructure of Biblical truth upon the incontrovertible historical foundations already laid. p. 5. Hireling Froom could clearly see how the failure of the Crucifixion date is inseparably related to the existence of the SDA Church; hence his desperation to deceive the sheep and protect his own future. But he did not recognise that his Spirit of Prophecy had already revised the key date of the Cross in 1896, which necessarily alters all the other 4 dates as well, rendering the Investigative Judgement doctrine null and void. It is obvious though, that he was aware of the conundrum of Samuel Snow's two false dates, judging by the amount of verbose fudging of the astronomical and historical evidence he did before arriving at his corrupt conclusions. Froom's intentional dissimulation is exposed by just a few computerised astronomical images, but tragically, millions will choose to ignore the evidence that reveals the deception behind their faith. Ellen G. White's vacillating position on the chronology that is fundamental to Seventh-day Adventism is a bombshell that should spell the end of her vice-like grip on her flock's allegiance, but for most, hot emotion will override cool logic. The SDA Church's ongoing no-expense-spared campaign to justify spurious dates, lying visions, deceitful doctrines, bogus science, misrepresented historical records, misinterpreted scriptures and false prophets is appalling. People should run from it for their lives but most will continue to turn blind eyes and make excuses for the inexcusable. Froom set out to believe in and defend his chosen religion come what may, rather than to expose and denounce it when he encountered its fatal flaws. He arrived at his intended destination, having run many red lights and maimed innocent travellers along the road. The only truth we find in Froom's condensation of the Historical Research Committee's years of labour, is in the revealing Summary below.

Our stand is tied to, and is inseparable from, 7th month time position of 1844. Integrity of Sanctuary Prophecy Tied to 1844 Time Position: Very integrity of our sanctuary position, so far as chronological foundation of 2300 years is concerned, stands or falls upon this issue. If 1844 Adventists were mistaken in 7th month time calculations, then Millerite movement was built upon colossal chronological mistake, and is unworthy of our support. Then, also, their error in expectation would not simply be misunderstanding of event to take place in 1844, but of very foundations of prophecy underlying sanctuary question. Can be no compromise upon this issue. We must either uphold or repudiate the 1844 calculation.

We must believe in and defend it, or else expose and denounce it. Integrity of Spirit of Prophecy endorsement of this time argument also involved in this issue. We cannot believe truth of beginning of judgement hour with that epochal day, and at the same time disbelieve chronological and calendrical basis upon which it is founded. Is therefore a life and death question with us. Constitutes main pillar, leading landmark, pre-eminent foundation stone of the faith. So the very integrity of this movement is tied up with the verity of the October 22 position. And the propriety, accuracy, and validity of that position is now established beyond refutation. It is true that the SDA chronology is a life or death issue. Without the matchless prophetic arch of the 457 BC 27 AD 31 AD 34 AD 1844 AD chronology, supported by the central keystone, the 31 AD Spring Crucifixion that ties the span together, the integrity of the Spirit of Prophecy endorsement of the chronology is invalidated and exposed as fraudulent. Froom's Spirit of Prophecy endorsed not merely one but three Crucifixion dates, none of which can be correct. Therefore it is clear that according to Froom's own assessment, Ellen G. White; the 457 1844 chronology as the 'pre-eminent foundation stone of the faith'; and the Seventh-day Adventist Church 'must be repudiated and denounced' as 'false and misleading', a 'colossal chronological mistake', 'unworthy of our support', and that they 'must collapse before a discomfiting exposure of all the facts'. The time is long overdue for the Seventh-day Adventist Church to openly admit its egregious errors, particularly about their false date for the Crucifixion; about the false date for their specious doctrine of the Investigative Judgement; about their Historical Research Committee's disingenuous conclusions, and their own prophet's vacillation on the date of the Cross, which LeRoy Froom pronounced is ...

Every Seventh-day Adventist is entitled to know the truth about the innumerable lies which their church has told in support of their false chronology, over the past 170 years. The duped members of this false church deserve the right to reject this organisation which has proselytised and enslaved them under Jewish legalism on the basis of a spurious date claimed by a lying, mentally deranged false prophet, leading to a mendacious chronology which necessitated the alteration of the true gospel of salvation by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ alone, and the substitution of the appalling, accursed other gospel of the Investigative Judgement. They ought to see their prophet exposed as the duplicitous fraud that she was. If after all this, they choose to remain in the Seventh-day Adventist Church, that is tragic; but they will at least have made their own informed choice to maintain faith in these lies. Should any decide to abandon their belief in a false movement founded by false prophets on the basis of false dates, then praise God that they have seen the light of truth. The worst outcome would be that any should abandon faith in the Lord Jesus Christ because of their discovery that what they had been taught and believed as Present Truth, is nothing but a false, accursed other gospel. Let us remember that the Word of God is sure, although man's words may set out to deceive.
