SAT is Anites single platform wireless communications test solution that hosts a suite of Anite software tools.

The SAT(A) enables the testing of terminals that are being developed to support GERAN and UTRAN radio-access technologies: GSM, GPRS, EGPRS, W-CDMA (FDD) and HSPA as well as its evolutions. The SAT(A) is now complemented by the SAT(E), based on the Agilent E6620A Wireless Communications Test Set, which incorporates a protocol stack jointly developed by Agilent and Anite for LTE support.

Anites SAT is designed to address Development, Conformance and Interoperability testing, focused on the physical, signalling and service enabler layers and features hardware sourced from Anite and Agilent Technologies. SAT(A) / SAT(E) system key features include: Support for all of Anites key test applications Development and Conformance Toolsets and SAS Scalable system architecture using up to 8 Agilent 8960 / E6620A radio transceivers Anite system components including: RF signal combining, and optional channel fading unit or direct baseband connection interface Support for multi-RAT, soft and hard handover Layer 1, 2 and 3 control and analysis Performance testing Cell selection and location update Graphical analysis tools Dynamic power level, timing and BER, BLER adjustment PDU encode/decode libraries Test system automation Various digital I+Q interfaces

SAT is the common thread running through Anites solutions for development, conformance and interoperability testing enabling its single platform strategy.

The SAT(A) system is also capable of supporting RRM tests, through the addition of specialist hardware. Anites objective is to provide maximum value to its customers. The SAT platform architecture is designed with the future in mind by reusing as many hardware & software components as possible when new and emerging technologies are introduced. The SAT platform supports three major Toolsets: Development Toolset comprising a suite of GUIs and C/C++ APIs Conformance Toolset comprising a test manager that executes an extensive suite of test packages based on internationally-agreed standards such as those required by GCF and PTCRB certification schemes SAS comprising of a GUI based Network Simulator used for IOT testing and Network Operator approval programs.

GERAN Specification: Up to 8 cells GSM 850, 900, 1800, 1900 operating bands Multi-band inter-working GSM, GPRS, EGPRS including Packet Switched handover PDU Libraries Support for Tx and Rx on up to 8 time slots Support for EGPRS MCS 1-9 Dynamic power level and timing m-RAT interworking UTRAN Specification: Up to 8 cells/carriers W-CDMA (FDD), MBMS & evolved HSPA support PDU Libraries Support for 8 operating bands Closed-Loop Transmit Diversity (CLTD) (requires additional hardware) m-RAT interworking E-UTRAN Specification: Up to 8 cells 2x2 MIMO & 4x2 DL MIMO Up to 20 MHz Bandwidth Data rates up to at least 100 Mbps downlink / 50 Mbps uplink Full protocol stack implementation now supported including NAS PDU Libraries m-RAT interworking

These Toolsets contain an extensive range of utilities to assist with test script creation, results analysis and the enabling of automation for stable, quick regression testing. SAT systems are configured from Anites Modular Product Structure (MPS), which enables the purchase of hardware and software components that make up SAT systems without the need to specify the configuration in which they will be used. The associated software licences (such as Toolsets) can be either locked to a system or pooled on a licence server where these licence resources can then be accessed by one or more test platforms to most efficiently meet testing requirements.
