B) AFFECTIVE AIMS:

to create a warm atmosphere in order to offer the background for a smooth, easy conversation between teacher and students to encourage students to learn the English language through games improve pupils pronunciation and their ability of speaking in English freely

ACTIVITY 1: WARMER Aims: to warm students up Procedure: Teacher enters the class greets the Ss, and then Teacher asks if there are any absentees. The S on duty tells the absentees if there are any. Whos on duty today?, Whos absent today?, Tell me the date. Interaction: teacher-student; student-teacher Time: 2 minutes

ACTIVITY 2 : CHECKING HOMEWORK Aims: revising homework Procedure: T asks the Ss about their homework, first a frontal check- Has everybody done the homework? Tell me what was your homework ? and the Ss answer the question.is there anyone who hast done his/her homework? Students check their homework and correct the possible mistakes. Interaction: teacher student, student teacher, student whole class Time: 5 minutes

ACTIVITY 3: LEAD-IN Aims: - to get Students into the new topic Procedure: Teacher shows Students some pictures with differnt cartoon characters, in different positions. Ss have to tell the Teacher what are the characters positions regarding each other. Ss dont know all the words in english but they say in Romanian. Eg.Where is Jerry? Jerry is in the bath. Interaction: techerstudent,studentteacher Time: 3 minutes ACTIVITY 4: PRESENTATION Aims: to teach prepositions of place Procedure: Teacher writes the title on the blackboard Prepositions of place and writes the lesson on the blackboard using drawing to exemplify the prepositions. The students have to make sentences according to the drawings. ON = PE IN= N UNDER= SUB BEHIND= N SPATE eg. The apple is on the table. eg. The apple is in the box. eg. The apple is under the table. eg. The apple is behind the box.

Interaction: teacher whole class, student teacher Time: 15 minutes ACTIVITY 5: PRACTICE Aims: to use the prepositions in speaking and exercises Procedure: Teacher asks Ss to make sentences using the prepositions. Each students has to tell where he is regarding his classmates. Eg. Andreea: I am next to Ionut,in front of Alex and behind Ioana. Then, Teacher shows them the pictures from the beginning and asks students to make sentences,but in English now. Eg. The Christmas tree is between Mickey and Donald., The hen is opposite the child. Interaction: teacher student; student teacher, IW Time: 7 minutes ACTIVITY 6: PRODUCTION Aims: to check understanding of the new grammar problem Procedure: Teacher splits the Students into 8 groups(as many as the prepositions). Each group receives a worksheet with a sentence. In five minutes, Ss have to make a drawing according to the sentence. Eg. a yellow car opposite a blue house. The Students work in groups then one student comes to the blackboard and shows to the class their drawing. Interaction: teacher student; student teacher, GW Time: 8 minutes ACTIVITY 7: FEED-BACK Aims: -to use prepositions in exercises Procedure: Teacher gives the Students some worksheets with exercises (eg. fill in the gaps,choose the correct answer). They solve the exercises togheter with the teacher. Interaction: teacher student; student teacher Time: 15 minutes ACTIVITY 8: HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENT Aims: to assign SS homework

Procedure: Teacher congratulates the pupils for the way they answered. Students are assigned to do exercise 3 page 65: they have to spot the differences between the two pictures according to the example. Interaction: teacher student, Time: 3 min
