AUTOMATION STUDIO
TM
Automation studio is a completely integrated software package that allows users to design, document, simulate, and animate circuits consisting of various automation technologies including pneumatics, hydraulics, proportional hydraulics, electrical controls, electrotechnical, programmable logic control, sequential function charts (sfc), and many more.
Simulation Parameters
The default simulation parameters supplied with the Electrotechnical components eliminate the need to perform an initial setup. Just lay out the components and start the simulation. For most components, users can modify the simulation parameters such as resistance, inductance, torque and frequency as well as advanced parameters including the mutual inductance of rotors and stators of motors, the inertia constant of motors, etc. Calculated variables such as speed and mechanical load are automatically displayed. To illustrate more complex concepts, users can modify the simulation parameters and show different behaviors including speed, torque, mechanical power, etc. Instructors can provide students with a diagram in which they will have to perform the calculations to obtain the required values to adjust the components parameters to be simulated.
Automation Studio is easy-to-use, economical, and adapts to any curriculum. It truly helps instructors and it integrates itself to the contents of the course, allowing the students learn and retain course content faster. With Automation Studio, students spend their energy learning the technology, not the software interface.
Terminal Management
The user associates each terminal to a terminal board. For each terminal board, Automation Studio automatically generates a connection diagram including a symbolic representation of the terminal board itself as well as a description of each of its terminals. When connecting a wire to a terminal, the user can specify whether the connection is internal or external.
Cable Management
Automation Studio maintains cable identifiers and conductors. Every conductor and/or pair of conductors are identified separately. A wire linking two terminals can be defined as being a conductor of a cable. The cables technical properties provide information about their type, their number of conductors, the number of pairs of conductors, the conductors colors, the conductors section, etc.
Connection Report
In addition to the reports already available, Automation Studio can generate electrotechnical reports that include cable connections to each terminal board. These reports contain detailed information about the end connections of cables and terminal boards. They can be personalized and printed.
IEC and NEMA standards Automatic wire numbering Management of terminals, terminal boards and cables Map locator Dynamic and realistic simulation Control and power circuit components with configurable electrical properties Measuring instruments to verify the simulated values of various locations of a circuit Dynamic adjustment of parameters during simulation Allows virtual experimentation of components and installations that cannot be purchased or manipulated (large motors and electrical installations, entire plants, etc.) Shows relationships between equipment and control systems
A Unique Environment
The Electrotechnical library represents an economical supplement to the Automation Studio environment, which virtually integrates all the technologies necessary for training in these disciplines:
Industrial technology Mechatronics Industrial maintenance Mechanical engineering technology Control and instrumentation technology Electrical and electronic engineering Industrial and fabrication technology Electromechanical technology Mechanical building (CAD) Automation technology
