Vaera
Vaera/And I Appeared covers quite a lot of territory, from Exodus 6:2-9:35. Within this portion we read of the 1st 7 plagues of Egypt, through all of which Pharaoh refuses to let Israel go. But the passage actually opens up with a unique statement made to Mosheh by Elohim, where He chooses to appear or reveal Himself in the identity of Yahweh unlike before where He came as El Shaddai to the patriarchs. Exodus 6:3 And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by [the name of] God Almighty, but by my name Yahweh was I not known to them. Yet the name Yahweh is seen throughout Genesis, what does this mean? Known: Strongs #3045 yada to know, perceive, acquire knowledge of, to be acquainted; = hand, represents authority, strength, power, and the right of possession = to see, understand, know In other words, before this point in time they had not understood or been able to see the hand of Yahweh his authority, power, and that He had the right of possession! 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 What know ye not that your body is the templeand ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price In Genesis 3:7 we find that what has been known/yada before this And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew/yada that they were naked This is a direct result of their encounter with the serpent remember the term yada = they understood that because of their nakedness that the authority had been transferred, the strength/power had been lost, and the right of possession had been transferred Naked: Strongs #5903 eyrom naked; gematria = 320 320th verse of the Torah is Gen. 13:1 And Abram went up out of Egypt, he, and his wife, and all that he had, and Lot with him, into the south. In verse 3, the information is relayed that he traveled to Bethel (House of Elohim) Could it be that part of the reason they would have to go down into Egypt would be for them to bought back, the authority/right of possession once again transferred so that they would know/yada Yahweh instead of their nakedness and once again be brought into His house instead of the house of Pharaoh? *So now we can understand why throughout the Exodus saga again and again statements are made such as And I will stretch out mine hand and smite Egypt with all my wonders (Exodus 3:20) wonders: Strongs #6381 pala to be marvelous, wonderful, surpassing, separate by a distinguishing action; 2 letter root = infers a cutting taking place, cutting is synonymous with a covenant being struck in other words, for Israel to understand that Yahweh had the right of possession, it would require them to be separated/cut from Egypt and choose to enter into this covenant that would give them access to the house of Elohim!

The revelation of this name goes along with a 7 fold promise Exodus 6:6-8 1) I will bring you out 2) I will deliver you 3) I will redeem you 4) I will take you 5) I will be your Elohim 6) I will bring you into the land 7) I will give it to you for a possession *7 plagues = 7 promises; this is the 14th portion of the year (14 = 7 x 2); could these 7s be important? Exodus 6:3

Va'era el-Avraham el-Yitschak ve'el-Ya'akov be'El Shaday ushmi Yahweh lo nodati lahem. 14 words = 7 x 2 (14 = hand), and 49 letters = 7 x 7 and it has a complete gematria of 2, 320 = 2 + 3 + 2 + 0 = 7 (*Notice the 320 = eyrom/nakedness) *Once again we find that the numbers have been woven seamlessly into this passage the number 7! 7 = completion, wholeness, blessing & rest, number associated with covenant cutting (to seven oneself) 7 = weapon, sword; yet it derives from the root word that means sustenance or nourishment; the root appears in terms such as mazon )2024#( food; what does this have to do with the sword though? *Just like milchamah/war contains the root lechem/bread In the spiritual sense the sword of war is needed for us to partake of the rest and nourishment we need it requires us to engage in warfare! Could this be the significance of the number 7 being so strategically placed here? Revealing to Israel the spiritual warfare required of them to partake of the rest and the 7 blessings awaiting them if they would perceive/understand/see the hand of Yahweh! *The = a crowned therefore it represents the virtuous woman, Proverbs 12:4 A virtuous woman is a crown to her husband: but she that maketh ashamed is as rottenness in his bones. Virtuous: Strongs #2428 chayil strength, might, efficiency, wealth, army, warlike; Israel (as well as the Bride today), in order to be a crown unto her husband is to be functioning as an efficient warlike army! The 7th verse in the Torah helps to give us further insight, Genesis 1:7 And Elohim made the firmament, and divided the waters which [were] under the firmament from the waters which [were] above the firmament: and it was so. Firmament: Strongs #7549 raqiya extended surface, expanse, firmament; gematria = 380, same as Egpyt mitsrayim just as Yahweh divided the waters (seed) with the firmament, the same pattern is about to be played out here a dividing of the seed lines. But if the Bride is not to remain in her eyrom/nakedness while in Mitsrayim it will require 2

her to take up the sword of the Torah just like the Messiah did when dealing with the serpent. Who must they deal with? Egypt: Strongs #4714 Mitsrayim double straits; from #6696 tsuwr to bind, besiege, confine, cramp, to show hostility to, treat as a foe; connected to #6869 tsarah straits, distress, trouble, vexer, or rival wife. According to Abarim Publications Egypt means Temple of Ptah. To the Egyptians, he was a creator god who brought all things to being by thinking of them with his mind and saying their names with his tongue a counterfeit of Yahweh, who spoke the world into existence! What is happening as the judgments begin to fall is the separation of the true bride from the vexer or rival wife (the harlot)! Egypt/rival wife is cut away as the true Bride has Yahweh appear unto them! The 2 seed lines/the 2 spoken words as well as the 2 wives are present and being separated only 1 will acknowledge that she is not her own. Yet we find a very disheartening statement made, Exodus 6:9 And Moses spake so unto the children of Israel: but they hearkened not unto Moses for anguish of spirit, and for cruel bondage. Anguish: Strongs #7115 qotser shortness, impatience, anguish; from #7114 qatsar to be short, impatient, grieved, or vexed; shares the same 2 letter root as tsarah the vexer wife Cruel: Strongs #7186 qasheh hard, cruel, severe, obstinate; cognate of #7184 qasah a kind of jug, jar, cup, refers to some of the various utensils used in the Tabernacle and later Temple, holy vessels Bondage: Strongs #5656 abodah labor, service; from the root #5647 abad to work, serve, this term is also used to describe how the Levites were to work/serve in the Tabernacle *Now we can begin to understand the need for the plagues in order to bring Israel out the same reasons are there for the need for Jacobs trouble. Instead of wielding the sword of the Torah, engaging in the warfare necessary to be the virtuous woman, when Yahweh chooses to vaera/appear to them, we find that Israel has begun to take on the characteristics of the vexer (Egypt), and they hearken not to the call given to become the holy vessels that would serve Him in the Tabernacle (In the house of Elohim/Bethel)! How often do we as well fall into this same category? Before we go further, we must first look at the one implement that is used to initiate the plague and therefore represents the hand of Yahweh! The important role of the staff/rod of Mosheh. Rod: Strongs #4294 matteh staff, branch, tribe; represented authority, leadership, and the ability and right to reproduce and pass on seed.

= womb & = womb (specifically the perverted womb) & = the ability to conceive and be fruitful. Both the vexer and the bride are vying for the ability to be fruitful one presents herself fit and the other perverted and unsuitable! Gematria = 54, same as 2 letter root of niddah & same as aggan (#101) bowl, basins, same word is used in Exodus 24:6 describing the bason that the blood was placed in, in order to sprinkle it upon Israel during the wedding ceremony at Sinai, the blood of the covenant. Notice how both terms connect us to the idea of blood to be niddah, have a menstrual flow, becomes symbolic of death, the potential for life is lost and the seed is rejected. Yet when Israel is sprinkled with the blood of the Covenant it was in connection with the statement All that Yahweh hath said we will do the Word/seed accepted in order to bring life! This same pattern, a rod dividing two groups, is also seen in connection with Jacob! The title of this portion, Vaera (And I appeared) is first seen in Genesis 31:10 where Jacob dreams of the cattle that were ringstraked, speckled, and grisled. A reference to a peculiar practice Jacob performs in Genesis 30:37-39 Poplar: Strongs #3839 libneh poplar, white poplar; cognate of #3842 lebanah moon, the full moon, originally the full moon would have always fallen on the 15th of the month and the way Yahweh created things to work together, the moon phases directed the menstrual cycle of the woman, meaning the 15th of the month when the moon was full would have been the optimum ovulation period, when she would have been ready to accept seed! Gematria = 87, same as abodah/labor or service, translated as bondage but can also mean service in the Tabernacle Hazel: Strongs #3869 luwz almond tree, almond wood; cognate of #3868 luwz to depart, to turn aside, to be crooked or perverse, it indicates what a nation or person trusts in; it indicates deviousness, found in reference to political alliances with Egypt rather than trust in Yahweh! *Luz was also where Jacob dreams of the ladder, also happens to be the modern name attached to Mt. Sinai Jabal al Luwz, lending credence that where Jacob saw the ladder was actually Mt. Sinai as well! And Jacob changes the name of this place, Luz, to Bethel the same place Abraham travels to when leaving Egypt. Chestnut: Strongs #6196 armown plane tree; from #6191 aram to be subtle, be shrewd, crafty, to make naked or uncover (root of #5903 eyrom naked) Look at the message being conveyed when Jacobs flocks are presented with the rod in order to conceive the same thing is taking place in Egypt concerning his descendants as well! The rod is being presented at the optimum time for seed to be released into the womb, yet if the Bride considers service in the Tabernacle as bondage, and instead chooses to continue in her alliance with Egypt instead of entering the covenant (Mt. Sinai) that will allow her to enter into the House of

Elohim/Bethel then she stays in her state of nakedness/eyrom failing to yada/to know Him! This same message is conveyed in the 1st plague a message to Israel just as much as to Egypt! Exodus 7:17 Thus saith Yahweh, In this thou shalt know/yada that I [am] Yahweh: behold, I will smite with the rod that [is] in mine hand upon the waters which [are] in the river, and they shall be turned to blood. River: Strongs #2975 yeor river, stream, canal, Nile; notice the root or meaning light (also connected to ur meaning flame) Turned: Strongs #2015 haphak to turn, overthrow, overturn; *1st used to describe the flaming sword which turned every way guarding the Tree of Life (Genesis 3:24). 2 letter root = )8736#( vial, flask, a container for oil/shemen when the oil is lit by a flame it gives off light! The light turns to blood! Just like in the Garden of Eden when Adam & Eve lost the light and knew/yada that they were naked/eyrom! From that point there was placed a flaming sword that now guards the Tree of Life. Same scenario is being played out now in Egypt. The Tree of Life (represented by the Rod) is at first rejected causing the bride to be made eyrom and lose the light, exposing herself as being niddah (unclean before Him). *Yet remember the significance of the 7s the sword, the virtuous woman who was likened unto an army? The message from the very beginning was for Israel to take up the sword of the Torah, to be the one that would guard the way, and therefore gain entrance into Bethel the House of Elohim, and if they would heed the call to serve in His house then there was a covering waiting for them!
