Reactions of a Male and a Female (Comparison and Contrast Essay)

As we all know, there are many differences between males and females. One of these differences that we observed is the way they react when they encounter dangerous situations. Males and females differ in the length and content, expressions, and way of writing they use in answering or reacting to those things. Given the disgusting situations to both males and females, we found out that males give shorter answers. Most of the males answer only in one word, which are either curses or expressions that do not mean anything at all. Only nine out of twenty boys wrote long answers. Some of these include violent reactions. The females, on the other hand, gave more concrete explanation on what they will do in certain incidents. Twelve out of twenty girls gave their long answers. Another noticeable difference is their usage of words or expressions. Most of the guys wrote curses and other bad words. It resulted to seventeen out of twenty males answering in that manner, and thirteen out of twenty females. The females would commonly use other girly expressions. The third one is their way of writing their reactions. More females put emoticons than males. Eight out of twenty females used emoticons and three out of twenty males. There is a notable similarity with their answers, which is the frequent usage of exclamation points. Sixteen out of twenty on both males and females put exclamation points at the end of their statements or answers. This shows emphasis to their reactions and emotions in almost all the questions presented to them.

With all these observations, we found out that females are more open to write their reactions to the situations, even though males are more violent to respond and act. Through their choices of words, it is easy to determine whether the person who answered the survey is a boy or a girl. They differ in answers in our survey in terms of its length and content, the expressions used, and their way of writing them. In conclusion, we say that the females therefore, are more expressive than males.
