Soft-action movement for the buttons. The transfer of movement from the button to the mechanism has been completely redesigned with a joint-pin system (1) protected by a worldwide patent. The standstill of the button has been cushioned with co-moulded rubber elements (2-3-4-5). The spring geometry of the moving contact of the mechanism performs a natural cushioning function, reducing its electrical recoils and wear, also thanks to a large increase in the quantity of silver of the contacts. This reconciles the safety of the elctric switching qith the smoothness of the operation. You can check the result yourselves: reduction in the movement of the button, less stand-out of the plate and a muffled sound. In short: state-of-the-art for control devices.
Cover plates. 85 colours and a wide range of combinations in five premium materials: Metal: Bright and Galvanic Wood: solid natural wood Stone: natural stone Glass: crystal Inox: stainless steel, brushed, brushed anthracite and cotton.
Laser engravings. At the back by each terminal to describe its function, on one side with commercial data and on the opposite side with technical data.
Interchangeable buttons. 1-, 2- and 3-module, with backlighting symbols and customizables
Night&day symbols. Supplied as standard or on request, even in minimum quantities. The latter are laser cut in the specific backlit area of the button. Perfectly visible by day, at night thanks to the signalling on the back, they are coloured with a warm amber light, restful and matching the displays of the electronic devices.
Plack-clack system. Hooking of the components of the light fixture, patented by Vimar. Greater structural strength, extraordinary rigidity, easily connecting and disconnecting devices at the front.
The spring geometry of the moving contact of the mechanism performs a natural cushioning function, reducing its electrical recoils and wear, also thanks to a large increase in the quantity of silver of the contacts.
Lowered frame. The semi-transparency helps with device installation and wiring. The honeycomb structure makes it sturdy. The reduction of the volume of the light fixture to a minimum.
Single packing in box with barcode The appliance is protected against knocks, dropping and dust and is well identified. In all cases where the methods of installation are not obvious, the appliances are equipped with an instruction sheet. The EAN 13 barcode, used by over 100 countries, is printed on every level packing and permits automatic inventory management with optical readers and computer systems connected to them.

Switches
Switches TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS Switches with directional arrows
These switches can be used for the direct control of motor driven loads, i.e. roller blinds, gates, etc. Interlocked buttons, or those with non-simultaneous closing, may control two independent circuits and are normally combined with relays, to allow the activation of motor driven pulses (i.e. motors for blinds, gates, etc.)
Key-operated switches
These switches are particularly suitable for preventing outsiders from unauthorized operations. Two kinds of key-operated switches are available: switches with the same lock and key (000 unified code), which allows the user to operate all the switches with the same key; switches with different locks and keys, to restrict the possibility of operations according to particular needs of the users. They are all delivered with two keys. The key is removable when the switches are either in the ON or in the OFF position. By request the switches can be supplied with the key removable in the ON position only. A serigraphy on the front of the switches indicates the type of key removing:
0 I 0 I
= key removable both in ON and OFF position = key removable in OFF position, only
IMPORTANT Vimar has a range of 100 different combination keys used at random in every produced lot, this guaranteeing that each packing unit of 20 pieces will be provided with 20 different combination keys.

Touch switches Scope
The touch switches make it possible to control (switch on, off and adjust) loads such as incandescent lights, fluorescent lights, with and without power factor correction, dedicated circuits for motorized appliances and controlled sockets (electronic switches only). Thanks to the capacitive response microprocessor technology (Vimar patent), with extra-flat profile, total absence of moving parts and the silent operation, these devices are an innovative and prestigious alternative to conventional controls such as 1-way switches, 2-way switches, etc.

Socket outlets TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS Socket outlet 250 V~ for dedicated supply lines Scope
Suitable for use in the service industry, like offices, clinics, doctors consulting rooms, laboratories, and wherever there are lines dedicated to the supply of equipments which need to continue working even in the event of a power failure (lines protected by generating sets, lines supplied by no-break generating sets, etc.). The socket outlets for dedicated supply lines are differently coloured (red, orange or green), so that the dedicated supply lines, with a nominal voltage of 230 V~, can be visually identified.
Currently, in Europe, there are no standards in force concerning the corrispondence between socket outlet coulour and type of supply. Differentiation is, however, made by field of application: Orange colour: power supply line protected by mains/generating set via an isolating transformer Red colour: uninterrupted power supply using UPS (Uninterruptable Power Supply) via an isolating transformer. Green colour: safety supply line from mains/generating set

Interlocked socket outlets with residual current breaker with overcurrent protection (RCBO) Equipments suitable to be installed in terminal points for the protection of the load supplied by the socket outlet, especially electrical household appliances, against short-circuit and overload, and for the protection of the user against electrocution. The residual current operation with sensitivity 10 mA correctly operates even in case of non-sinusoidal fault currents (alternate currents with unidirectional pulsating currents). They are particularly suitable for the protection of: appliances at the end of the line in locations with high risk of electrocution (bathrooms, shower-baths, etc.) socket outlets for the supply of class I appliances with electronic circuits socket outlets for the supply of portable appliances in residential and similar applications (electric irons, electrical tools, etc.)
Technical specifications
The interlocked circuit breaker or the interlocked residual current breaker with overcurrent protection (CB or RCBO) associated to the socket outlet supply the socket-contacts only when the plug is fully inserted and automatically stop the supply before the complete withdrawn of the plug. The plug is thus always inserted and withdrawn without arching. The switch lever, when the plug is not inserted into the socket outlet, is idle and cannot close the switch. supply voltage: 120-230 V~ -15% +10% 50-60 Hz residual current (sensitivity): In 10 mA operation depending on the mains voltage (standard EN 61009-1, 4.1.2 ): to be connected after a master RCBO interlocking device, VIMAR patent C type magneto-thermic action (see current-time tripping diagram) two-pole disconnection with 1 protected pole breaking capacity: 3000 A rated current according to the socket outlet standard A type equipment for alternating and unidirectional pulsating fault currents green light frontal LED: when illuminated, it indicates normal operations, i.e. mains voltage present and contacts closed

2. Plug insertion and withdrawn The switch can be closed to supply the socket outlet, only when the plug is fully inserted. As soon as the plug starts being withdrawn, the switch opens: plug insertion and withdrawn take always place in absence of voltage on the socket-contacts of the socket outlet.
3. Switch tripping The switch (CB) trips in case of short-circuit or overload; if provided with residual current operated function (RCBO), it also trips in case of direct or indirect contacts.

Protection Scope
Equipments suitable to be installed at the end of a system for the protection of the load connected after them directly or through a socket outlet, against overload and short-circuit, and for the protection of the user against electrocution. The protection against overload and against short-circuit is granted by the electromagnetic part of the equipment; the protection of the user against electrocution is given by the residual current breaker with overcurrent protection, for a value of 10 mA (sensitivity). It is available also in the version with sensitivity In of only 6 mA. A green LED on the front illuminates to indicate normal operation, i.e. mains voltage present and contacts closed. The residual current function is also tripped by non-sinusoidal fault currents (alternating currents with unidirectional pulsating currents).

Detection Gas detectors Scope
Suitable for the detection in the environment of an abnormal concentration of LPG and liquified gases (20421) or of methane gas (20420) in quantities much lower than those generally accepted as the danger threshold. It operates on a solenoid cut-off valve and switches off the gas supply. At the same time, it signals that a leak has been detected and that the gas has been switched off, by means of optical (LED) and acoustic (buzzer) warning devices.

Main functions
Flexibility, understood as the possibility of being able to program and reprogram functions and checks as preferred, is the main characteristic of By-me. Thanks to the Vimar BUS with twisted pair, already used in the BUS burglar alarm system and in the BUS access control sys-
The system configuration includes creating groups of devices that share a function, for example a relay actuator and the related switch (see figure above). In addition it is possible to create scenes (max 32), the activation of which calls up some pre-set conditions (lights on/off/adjustment, roller blinds up/down, burglar alarm on/off, climate control on/off, etc.) whose simultaneous activation can give rise to a particular setting or respond to a certain condition. For example, if the evening scene has been created, when activated, with a single switch, it is possible to close all the roller blinds, switch off the outside lights, activate the perimeter burglar alarm system, switch on the bedside lamp with a dimmer switch, etc. This is without having beforehand physically connected together the single components; it is enough to connect them logically through the control unit menu. With the events function it is possible to manage activities at a certain time or when a certain condition occurs (16 programs
98
System composition
To manage a By-me automation and burglar alarm system it is possible to use the following range of control units: flush or surface mounting control unit with LCD monitor able to control lights, roller blinds, temperature, scenes, automation (can be switched on at set times and/or when certain conditions occur), loads, burglar alarm system, etc.; all the menus are displayed on the LCD monitor via very friendly graphic user interfaces that are simple to use in the phases of both management and configuration. A set of optional passwords enables differentiating access to the functions by users; the last 80 events occurring to the system (on/off, alarms and devices generating them, etc.) are stored and displayed showing the date and time when they occurred. The flush mounting control unit is composed of a 3.5 LCD colour monitor (art. 20550) to which must be added the control unit module (art. 01960), by connecting it in the terminal block. In addition to this module, the monitor 20550 is equipped with another terminal block that can be hooked up with a module so it can be used for video door entry (Sound System or DigiBus system); the device will therefore enable managing all the functions of the home automation system and of the video door entry system at the same time.
If it is not possible to use the flush mounting monitor (no fitting, special reconstruction, etc.), there are three different types of surface mounting products that have the same modes of operation, configuration, use and wiring as the flush mounting control units. These devices, equipped with front buttons, have the same functions as those on the flush mounting LCD monitor. They do not use additional modules like the latter since each of the above combinations corresponds to a specific surface mounting article: Control unit (art. 01950..) Control unit and Sound System video door entryphone (art. 01951..) Control unit and DigiBus video door entryphone (art. 01952..)

The flush and surface mounting control units use the BUS as the means of communication. Each line can be composed of up to 128 devices (switch, signalling, actuator) and needs one or two power supplies depending on the number of devices and the maximum length of the BUS cable (1000 m). Several lines can communicate with each other via line couplers, to share a general command for example. The maximum number of lines that can communicate together is 240, divided into 15 areas plus one line dedicated to the burglar alarm system (line 00). The control unit, if the burglar alarm system is used as well, must be installed on line 00; otherwise, it can be installed on any one of the 240 lines available. The control unit manages up to 254 devices on any one of the 241 lines. The system configuration includes creating groups of devices that share a function, for example a relay actuator and the related switch; approximately 480 groups can be configured (of which 400 automation groups, 40 temperature zones, etc.). The burglar alarm system permits creating a system comprising up to 60 devices that can be divided into 30 separate zones and, via contact interfaces, manage technical alarms or integrate traditional sensors in all those locations where preparation has not been possible.

Connectable devices
2 28 40 2 2 4
As regards the number of effectively connectable devices, refer to the system card that determines the number according to the required operating time. The CEI 79-2 standard, for burglar alarm systems, requires a minimum operating time of 24 h in case of a mains failure. In these conditions the back-up unit 01804 can deliver a current of 60 mA for a time of 24 h. If the total system consumption is less than or equal to 60 mA it is therefore possible to use just one back-up unit 01804. For consumption above this limit you need to determine the backup units to use by filling in the system card. To ensure an operating time of 24 h, the system power input must not however exceed 240 mA. The total number of connected devices, in any case, must always be less than or equal to 60 (the transponder keys must not be included in the count). The table gives the minimum and maximum number of addressable devices for each system. The outdoor sirens must not be included in the count since, in the event of a mains failure, they are self-powered by their own batteries. To ensure an operating time of 24 h with no mains power: - if the value in the Total absorption box is greater than 60 mA, add an auxiliary battery holder unit 01803 - if the value in the Total absorption box is greater than 120 mA, add a second back-up unit 01804
) The maximum number of relay actuators, contact interfaces and I.R. * detectors is determined by the number and type of devices in the system. ) The total number of connectors, transponder readers and smart card rea** ders must be no greater than 16.
WARNING! The maximum number of installable back-up units and the maximum number of auxiliary battery holder units is 2 in both instances. The distance between the back-up units must be greater than 40 m. The power supply also provides the charging current for the batteries that are located in the back-up unit and in the outdoor siren.

Back-up unit and auxiliary battery holder unit, that house the batteries (not supplied) that in the event of a power failure supply the system for the time prescribed by the standards; the back-up unit also has the function of indoor siren. Contact interface, which permit connecting detectors to the BUS system such as magnetic contacts for doors and windows, cord-operated contacts to protect roller blinds, impact contacts to protect doors and windows and, in addition, they can be used to generate technical alarms. Relay actuators, which permit repeating the alarm status to other devices (phone dialler, etc.). Transponder and smart card readers that, connected to the devices of the burglar alarm system, permit creating the access control function. System complements for intrusion detection alarm system: outdoor siren over BUS (self-powered), surface mounting phone dialler for landlines or GSM for EN 50022 rail, power supply, contacts and detectors conventional lines and orientable supports for infrared detectors. By its nature a By-me system can be extended over time. An initial installation can indeed be easily expanded with new components (controls, actuators, complements); for them to work it will be enough to make the BUS connection and do the programming from the control unit, without having to rewire the existing circuit or remove components that have already been installed from the wall. All the devices in the burglar alarm system are protected against attempted tampering, including disconnection and short-circuit of the connection line. The Eikon appliances are equipped with an infrared optical antitamper device: each device protects itself by emitting an infrared ray at the back that alerts the system to the slightest attempt at tampering. This type of solution, patented by Vimar, requires no additional mechanical devices, it eliminates the risk of false alarms and simplifies and reduces the work of installation.

In order to realize a By-me home automation and burglar alarm system, these components are used: Push buttons, which may or may not have the incorporated actuator, and be programmed from the control unit as follows: - for the rocker push buttons: ON-OFF, dimmers, roller blinds, scene activation - for the simple push buttons: status reversal (step-by-step), only ON, only OFF, scene activation, push button - button, to choose after defining the control function, one or two modules, with or without symbols, customized, with name-plate where you can write the name of the function. The signalling LED can be always on, always off, on with load ON, on with load OFF. Relay actuators for flush mounting or for EN 50022 rail installation. Dimmers for 230 V incandescent lamps and low-voltage spotlights (via dedicated transformers); or for electronic ballast for fluorescent lamps (0-10 V). System complements for automation: receiver and infrared remote control, infrared presence detector, thermostat, interface for traditional switches, communication interface, supply unit, line coupler, load control module, GSM phone dialler. Presence detector, with 17 beams on 4 planes (Vimar patent) that ensure a better angle of detection than the conventional types with 14 beams on 3 levels or with dual technology that can be installed on walls. Transponder activator, that, suitably configured, are used to turn the system on/off totally or partially (each zone can be partialized and therefore all the combinations among the 30 available zones are possible). Transponder key and card, that ensure absolute reliability and safety when turning the system on and off; they also permit switching on the system partially according to the configuration of the connectors.

By-me automation configuration
This operation creates the functional groups and their modes of operation. It is carried out via the control unit, using the self-guided menu and the configuration buttons on the devices. Notice that after the groups have been created, the control unit no longer has any part to play in the way they operate. The devices and related functional groups are connected logically to each other and do not require any intervention by the control unit. Load control By-me features a load control device with automatic or manual reset priority: 8 loads can be managed. Thanks to this component it is possible to prevent the MCB ahead of the system from disconnecting due to overloading and ensure that the appliances defined as the most important are never disconnected from the mains voltage. There are disconnection priorities that, in the event of overloading and before the MCB trips, permit gradually disconnecting the loads (household appliances) that are set as less important. Resetting can be selected, that is, instead of again automatically powering the previously disconnected device, the socket supplying the device must be manually re-enabled with a push button. Burglar alarm This permits making a burglar alarm systems; the appliances are made with the Eikon, Idea and Plana styling to match all the other devices in the system. All the operations of programming, configuration and diagnostics are performed via the control unit. By using the phone dialler connection, the burglar alarm system can transmit messages notifying about alarms. The system is easy to control with transponder keys and cards, smart cards. Technical alarms By using the contact interface, the following devices are available: Gas detectors (LPG and natural gas): able to detect an excessive amount of gas in the room, signalling it with an acoustic and optical signalling and controlling on the solenoid valve downstream from the meter to cut off the flow of gas. Carbon monoxide detector: warns in case of danger with an acoustic and optical signalling; in addition, it is able to control a solenoid valve that shuts off the delivery of gas or switches off the boiler. Smoke detector: signals the presence of smoke with an acoustic and optical signalling. These problems can also be signalled, by phone dialler, to a mobile phone or a landline, notifying for which of them the system has turned on and generated the alarm.
Applications
Besides the possibility of governing the automation of lights and roller blinds, also with the creation of scenes that permit retrieving a desired function and the possibility of setting scheduled actions, the By-me system manages the following functions: Adjustment range By-me is born with the possibility of managing temperature in an advanced manner since the control unit with LCD monitor (flush or surface mounting) permits managing up to 40 temperature zones by installing the same number of thermostats that, thanks to the control unit, operate in timer-thermostat mode (automatic, manual, programme, etc.). Whereas the 2-module flush mounting control unit has an integrated timer-thermostat able to regulate the temperature of one zone and control another three zones, with the installation of another 3 thermostats. Additional thermostats can be added to the system; their positioning will be independent from the control of the control unit. Temperature control is perfectly integrated with the other By-me functions, so climate control can be associated with scenes, logic functions and environmental situations. For example, if the going out scene has been created, when activated, with a single control, the burglar alarm is turned on, the lights switched off, the roller blinds closed and the temperature setting lowered (nighttime reduction).
Remote control
With an ordinary phone or a mobile phone it is possible to connect to the By-me system via the GSM phone dialler. It is possible to control and check the status of the devices and interact with them to change their parameters and the programming and to perform diagnostics operations. By remote control it will then be possible, for example, to switch on the garden lights, switch on the house lights in presence mode, turn on the watering system, etc. In addition, the system will notify about critical situations it has detected, such as alarm system activation, technical alarm signals and mains power failure.

Access control with smart card reader/programmer with built-in relay
This is the standard solution, the simplest one. It is composed of a smart card reader/programmer of the size of 3 modules; it also performs the function of actuator via the relay. The cards are programmed and the device configured using dip switches fitted on the back of the appliance. The output relay is activated upon recognition of the previously saved smart card. If using the reader/programmer in a hotel situation, a suitable combination of the dip switches permits simplifying some functions so as to make it easier to use the device in this context. Another type of configuration of the device called intelligent switch enables making a secure circuit control system. The output relay stays switched as long as the previously programmed smart card stays inserted in the reader/programmer. Wiring diagram with transponder reader

simply with the keys on the front of the monitor; call return can be done directly from the monitor or from the audio door entry (where applicable) while, with flush mounting video cameras or the external plate, it will be possible to see the person making the call on the video door entry.
Sound System
The Sound System enables creating types of systems where communication between the devices and their functions is analogue. Thanks to its special construction technology, the Sound System offers several advantages compared to conventional analogue video door entry systems: - in Sound System installations the call is generated inside the power supply (device optimization) whereas in classic analogue systems the audible call warning is modulated and it needs the aid of a buzzer;
108
Sound System
- in Sound System installations, thanks to different note generators, it is possible to differentiate calls (outside the door) whereas in classic analogue systems the bell is always the same for every type of call; - in Sound System installations the quality of the sound signal is cleaner since, on the contrary to the classic type of analogue systems, there is no alternating voltage on the pillar (which causes interference); By connecting the Sound System 01961 video door entry module onto the LCD monitor the device creates a video door entry system that can only be used on the classic analogue type of Elvox analogue systems or the Sound System with 8 wires and will therefore permit reception, communication and, where applicable, display of calls from the outdoor station (Elvox Sound System plate or Vimar Sound system call button equipped with a video camera) and management of functions such as switching on stair lights, signalling door open, etc. The same performance and functions can be obtained by using the surface mounting control unit 01953.. available in three colour versions and that needs no additional module (in the event of future integration with the home automation system it will be necessary to replace the control unit). System architecture
In reality there are different installation topologies for making Sound System video door entry systems; the type of each system depends on the structure of the building, the number of indoor and outdoor stations you want to install and on the functions to enable. The diagrams and therefore the most frequent architecture are typically where there are one or more outdoor call stations and one or more indoor response stations; the diagram with a single outdoor station uses a single power supply per pillar while the installation of more than one outdoor station, in addition to one power supply per pillar, has audio-video signal switchover modules. The diagrams then differ according to the functions and services required (connection of a number of video door entry units in parallel, etc.) for which specific supplementary modules must be added (for example video distributors, supplementary power supplies, etc.). The architecture of the Sound System, in order to create the audio function, features the classic type of connection of 4 wires +1 towards the pillar; to implement the video function it is then necessary to have further 3 wires to cable towards the pillar. The total number of wires to cable in order to create the system will then depend on the number of indoor stations you want to call from the outdoor station since a direct call wire is needed for each one of the indoor stations. The type of cables to use for the connection between the system components, both towards the pillar and towards the outdoor station, is as shown in the following table: Minimum cross-section of conductors Terminals -, +, lock, +T, C1, C2 Other Video Up to 50 m 1 mm2 0,75 mm2 Up 100 m 1,5 mm2 1 mm2 Up to 200 m 2,5 mm2 1,5 mm2

DigiBus
DigiBus
The DigiBus enables creating types of systems where device and control identification is digital. Depending on the system configuration, each of the connected devices has a numerical code with 4 or 8 digits and is able to receive and send the data that contain all the information relating to communication management. All the typical control operations of a video door entry system such as, for instance, call, electric lock opening, etc., are therefore coded. Whereas, the sound for voice communication and the video signal to see the images are signals that remain analogue. The main advantage offered by the DigiBus system compared to a classic analogue video door entry system is the saving (on the pillar side) of the single call wire for each indoor station. Thanks to this feature, the system lends itself to be used in installations where there are many indoor stations (for example, large building complexes) since it considerably simplifies wiring operations, because the number of cables is always the same irrespective of the number of indoor stations to install. By connecting the LCD monitor with the DigiBus video door entry module (art. 01962) the device becomes a video door entry unit that can only be used on Elvox digital systems type DigiBus with 8 wires and that will therefore permit reception, communication and, where applicable, viewing the calls from the outdoor station (Elvox DigiBus digital plate or Vimar DigiBus call button, equipped with a video camera if necessary) and the management of functions such as switching on the stair lights, signalling door open, etc. The same performance and functions can be obtained by using the surface mounting control unit 01954.. available in three colour versions and that needs no additional module (in the event of future integration with the home automation system it will be necessary to replace the control unit). the standard speed (600 b/s) enables reaching distances on the digital BUS of a few kilometres. The DigiBus system permits digital coding of the devices and commands that are sent or that come from the external plate; the latter can be considered as the master device (main appliance managing communication between the digital devices in the system), while every other single digital device can be considered as a slave (secondary appliance that is piloted/ controlled by the master). The external plate is therefore: - the brain of the entire system; - essential for the operation of the entire system and, as a result, it must always be installed. The video door entry units are identified in the system with a numerical code with 4 or 8 digits that must be set on the plate. All the programming parameters such as, for instance, the call time, type of bell, electric lock opening, code numbers of the indoor stations, etc. are set and stored in the main external plate.

System architecture
For the DigiBus system, too, in reality there are different installation topologies for making systems; the type of each system depends, in this case too, on the structure of the building, the number of indoor and outdoor stations you want to install and on the functions to enable. Similarly to the Sound System, the diagrams and therefore the most frequent architecture are typically where there are one or more outdoor call stations and one or more indoor response stations; the diagram with a single outdoor station uses a single power supply per pillar while the installation of more than one outdoor station, in addition to one power supply per pillar, has audio-video signal relay modules. The diagrams then differ according to the functions and services required (connection of a number of video door entry units in parallel, etc.) for which specific supplementary modules must be added (for example video distributors, supplementary power supplies, etc.). The architecture of the DigiBus system requires the 4 wire connection for the audio function and 4 wires for the video function. The call wire on the pillar side for each single indoor station is no longer necessary since, on the contrary to the Sound System that needs the return wire for the calls, the DigiBus system uses a digital type of data transmission. The communication protocol used by the DigiBus system is proprietary ELVOX and is serial-similar with active level at 12 V d.c. and communication input on the digital line of 25 mA;

The power supplies that can be used for installing the system are all those in the ELVOX DigiBus range (for more details on these devices see the ELVOX technical literature). distributors are used to duplicate the video signal so it can be received by more than one monitor; the devices that can be used are all those in the ELVOX DigiBus range (for more details on these devices see the ELVOX technical literature). plates, understood as audio or audio-video devices that permit identifying the subject requesting access to the dwelling; the ELVOX range offers various types of plates that can be used in a DigiBus installation (for all the technical details, please refer to the dedicated ELVOX literature). In the Digibus system the external plate is absolutely essential for operation and must always be installed in the system. All the programming parameters (call time, type of bell, electric lock opening, code numbers of the indoor stations, etc.) are set and stored in the plate. ELVOX DigiBus surface mounting audio and video door entry installations that can be used with Vimar appliances in all installations where it is not possible to use flush mounting devices (for all the technical details, please refer to the dedicated ELVOX literature). Note: The 1 and 2 module flush mounting video cameras and the LED light are common articles in both Sound System and DigiBus systems (the codes are the same).
System composition
To create a DigiBus system the following components are used: flush mounting monitor 20550 with module 01962 or surface mounting video door entry 01954 able to have images and voice interact for viewing and communicating with the person at the outdoor station. Equipped with 16 terminals, they enable connecting up with all the other appliances in the system (power supply, etc.). flush mounting speakerphones 20556 and 14556 that enable communication with the outdoor station (ELVOX plate or call button 20576 and 14576). flush mounting landing call push buttons 20576 and 14756 that enable calling and communication to the indoor station (flush mounting monitor or surface mounting speakerphones 20556 and 14556). flush mounting video cameras, available in 1- and 2-module sized (art. 20560, 14560 and 20565, 14565 respectively), en-

Stairs light control. With this control it is possible to activate the output used to control an appropriate external relay connected to one or more lamps to switch on. User away function. This type of function allows the user to signal his/her absence to the control unit (where applicable); in addition it can also be used when the user is present but does not want to be disturbed. When this function is enabled, the video door entry unit receiving the call emits no audible warning, but sends the user away command to the control unit (where applicable) or the external plate. Auxiliary function. This control can be used to activate external devices or services such as, for instance, courtesy lights, automation, etc.; to activate this function you need to install a suitable external relay. Outside call. Via the wiring of the dedicated terminal in the video door entry it is possible to differentiate the sound of a call from the outside button (for example, landing, secondary entrance, etc.) to distinguish it from a call from the outdoor station. Supplementary bells. If it is necessary to transmit the call warning to different points of the system (for example, very large dwellings). All the functions are accomplished with digital commands; these are data that can be sent by every device containing the information that enables activating a particular function (unlocking, etc.). The actuators can be relays or voltage generators in the power supplies that are controlled by master devices (plate) after receiving the data containing the command to actuate. The plate parameters can be configured in three different ways: - directly from the plate using the alphanumeric keypad or single buttons; - via the specific programmer Elvox 950B; - using a PC with serial interface Elvox 6952 and software Elvox PC Digibus ANALYZER. Example of installation with 8-module flush mounting control unit
The example shows the typical setting of a lounge with a number of light points (one floor lamp and various wall units) that are all dimmerable and a motorized roller blind. The lights can be controlled from the entrance and the roller blind by a twobutton rocker switch near the window. A two-button rocker switch, again at the entrance, enables activating four pre-set scenes, for example: ON - all the lights on 100%, roller blinds up; OFF - all the lights off, roller blinds down; TV - floor lamp off, wall light on 50%, roller blinds down; READING - floor lamp on 100%, wall light on 30%, roller blinds up; Installing an infrared receiver enables using the remote control to manage the lights and roller blinds separately from any point in the room or to call up the pre-set scenes.

Automation, burglar alarm and video door entry systems
Example of installation with 8-module flush mounting control unit
The example in the figure illustrates the integration between the automation, burglar alarm and with the Sound System video door entry systems, totally managed by the flush mounting control unit with LCD monitor (obviously the characteristics of the corresponding surface mounting version are similar and enable the same functions). With the control unit it is possible to view and communicate with the person making the call via the outdoor station and then open the electric lock; there is then the flush mounting speakerphone (installed in the kitchen) that enables communication and opening the electric lock without having to go to the control unit (useful application on large premises). The system manages all the functions connected with lights and roller blind control; the control unit, via the self-guided menus displayed on the LCD monitor, enables temperature management and load control in order to prevent tripping the MCB due to several circuits switching on at the same time. All the scenes and pre-set automations are entirely managed by the control unit. In addition, the control unit also manages the entire burglar alarm system and therefore the presence and perimeter detectors and the technical alarm detectors (via the radiofrequency interface); the outdoor activator enables switching the system on/off in the programmed mode (total or partialized) with the transponder keys. Lastly, the phone dialler, as well as sending the alarm signals to the programmed numbers, also makes remote control possible in order to activate the pre-set scenes, control the temperature, check the devices are working correctly, etc.

Warnings
Laser customization advantages indelible engraving that does not deteriorate over time; high-precision reproduction even of very fine lines and complex images; service available even for minimal quantities; possibility of ordering the same customization at different times with identical results, because all customizations are stored on magnetic supports. The few limits of technology it is not possible to reproduce coloured images; the following finishings of cover plates are not customizable: Bright: matt titanium (.14); Glass: black ice (.71), blue ice (.74), silver mirror (.81), ash mirror (.82), bronze mirror (.83); Stone: Cardoso (.52); WOODEN cover plate customization: prices and quantities agreed with the commercial networks.
Things to avoid do not provide photocopies; do not fax image to be reproduced, since the low definition of the fax makes it impossible to reproduce the document in laser quality.
How to proceed photocopy this page and fill it in carefully; enclose the image to be reproduce, without using paper clips, staples or adhesive tapes; deliver all the documentation to your area wholesaler/distributor, who will then forward it to Vimar.
What to supply a printout or trasparency of the image to be reproduced, in black-and-white line drawing scaled 2 or 3 times larger than the finished size; the image may also be supplied on magnetic support, together with hard copy: DOS or MAC diskette with images in EPS or TIFF format (consult your printer or graphic artist); for button engravings, make sure that the desired symbol or label is not already included in the table 'Standard symbols and wordings' below; if so, simply indicate the corresponding code in addition to the article code in your order.
Estimated lead times for devices and cover plates 10 working days for the sample; 10 working days from confirmation for completed order.
Estimated lead times for Smart card 15 working days for the sample; 20 working days from confirmation for completed order.
