Today I tested the newest update to the blanks retention workflow in the AQ7000 Vis instrument. I tested two reagents: Reverse color test, CODL00 Forward color test, AC4P82 Sulfate The goal of the updated software was to fix #1 and #2 below: What are the limitations what is tricky (from 30Nov12 memo): 1. If the 1-pt cal adjust option is not toggled to ON before the user goes into Run Test mode, the user will lose the blanks when they later toggle the 1pt cal adjust option to ON in the setup screen and then proceed to the Calc 1-pt Cal screen. a. They will have to rerun the blanks in the 1-pt cal adjust mode. b. But, when they go back into Run Test mode, they will not have to rerun the blank. 2. If the user scrolls to the second page of the Setup screen (where the polynom is), the meter interprets this as a change to the test, even if the factors are not changed. Blanks are lost. a. If the user just scrolls around on the first page of Setup screen, blanks are OK. Font in red (below) indicates an apparent bug. Results of todays testing: 1. Fixed one aspect but broke another: If the 1-pt cal adjust option is not toggled to ON before the user goes into Run Test mode, now the user will not lose the blanks when they later toggle the 1pt cal adjust option to ON in the setup screen and then proceed to the Calc 1-pt Cal screen. a. They will not have to rerun the blanks in the 1-pt cal adjust mode. b. But, when they go back into Run Test mode, they will have to rerun the blanks, because the blanks are lost after the 1-pt cal adjust the first time. c. If the user repeats the 1-pt cal adjust for a second time, when they go back into Run Test mode afterwards, they will not lose the blanks. Only lose the blanks the first time. 2. Issue is fixed. User can scroll to view the second page of the Setup up screen (where the polynom is) and will not lose the blanks. 3. The first time the user goes into the 1-pt cal adjust screen, the softkey for measure blank is missing. a. The functionality of the screen is not compromised. b. The second time the user goes into 1-pt cal adjust screen, all softkeys are present. 4. Be aware: If the user toggles the statistics function on/off, the blanks will be lost as a result. 5. Note: when the 1-pt calibration factor is toggled on/off, all the data on the screen (even data run previously) will not be recalculated using the 1-point cal adjust factor.
