Substitute for teachers

Education is one of the most important stages in mens life. Not long ago peasant parents considered female education unnecessary and thats why only boys were privileged to study at schools. But now women can rank with men in their thinking abilities, education is improved with technology. Clearly that in future teachers will be substituted for computers. Some people think that sooner or later computers would replace teachers. Firstly, sometimes children are distracted by what the teacher is wearing. These things tend to become so important to some pupils that they lose focus on the topic that is being taught. With computers taking the role of teachers students will no longer have any such distraction and will be able to concentrate on the subject . Secondly, there is no possibility of a computer favoring or preferring some students over others. Discouragement and neglect will then not make poor scorers of some students as it sometimes happen with children who greatly depend on support and encouragement of their teacher. Apart from these, errors made by human teachers while evaluating students performance because of poor judgment and tiredness can also be avoided. I am a passionate believer that teachers are the integral part of learning, because the mediocre teacher tells, he good teacher explains, the superior teacher demonstrates, the great teacher inspires. (William Arthur Ward) The big question is buzzling: how could machine without feelings inspire us to learn something? Only teachers can imbue the young with love for their language and literature. To begin with my arguments for humans teaching I should say that computers were invented to provide information, learning is a different issue. We cannot make a student learn. But a teacher can motivate him or give consequences for delinquencies. Much learning doesnt teach education. Besides, computers do not teach children think critically, to question, to discriminate among sources of information, to weigh perspectives, to think about consequences, to bring contextual meaning to a situation, to be creative, or to make careful judgments. In the second place states an acute problem of cheating. Do you realize how much more cheating would go on in this world if we didn't have teachers to catch us? If students would be given maximum of individual freedom and the absence of teacher supervision they would never learn. Moreover computers do not care about the student's personal problems or learning disabilities. Teachers are needed to help and guide students. They nurture the student and offer praise. I would never be inspired if my notebook would show me excellent at the monitor. And if a teacher would say it I would be proud of myself. Teachers during their lessons learn us not only the prescribed material, but also morality ( when interpreting the story), share experience. Another question that bugs me is that with coming computers teacher would lose their work places.

One more sore point is absence of discipline. Children in front of computers can do everything they want. But in the school the teacher is an authority for them. School has certain rules and when you are at home these rules disappear. The principle goal of education is to create men who are capable of doing new things, not simply of repeating what other generations have done, men who are creative and inventive. (Jean Piaget) Goals of education in the United States fall into four categories: academic (intellectual), vocational (responsibility as a productive citizen), social and civic (socialization into a democratic society), and personal (self-development). Computers can cope with the first two items but the last one is within their power. Only a human being can feel childs mood. A teacher has so many thing, at the same time actor, policeman, scholar, jailer, parent, inspector, referee, friend, psychiatrist, accountant, judge and jury, guide and mentor, wielder of minds, keeper of records. Or am I romanticizing?
