2nd article on the Superbill (first published in the Journal of Medial Group Management Association in December 1972). |||| PRIOR to going to press with our first article introducing the Superbill concept, I had asked two seasoned clinic Administrators (Stan Hager, Everett Clinic, Everett, WA and Dave Allison, Gould Medical Group, Modesto, CA) to review the 1972 article and summit their assessment and concerns in the same issue (to help generate dialog). Hager was already on my list of constant contacts and Allison was also a member of the MGMA Clinic Procedures Committee. In the "At Issue" section that was added on to the 1972 article, Hager expressed concerns about 3rd party medical record audits, falsification notices and the lack of procedure codes for medical supplies. Allison was also concerned about the falsification notices and the suggested need for multiple copies of the Superbill. This 1973 Chapter II article was written to specifically ADDRESS these concerns -- all of which WERE later resolved prior to publication of the Superbill GUIDE in 1974.
