RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
1. SELECTION OF THE TOPIC
The topic FINANCIAL INTERMEDIARIES,

selected is very interesting. The financial institutions play a very important role for development of the society. For the welfare of the society & help the customers to save their money take loan from the institution at the time of need. This topic is related with financial intermediaries and its functions, its problems, its role in the economic development of the country. Through study about this topic the researcher can get knowledge about features, problems, and performance in the economic development of the country.

2. OBJECTIVE OF THE STUDY


This project study is undertaken to obtain more & more information about the working activities of financial intermediaries, which may not easily obtain during the ordinary course of functioning of banks. The object behind this study is to know & to gather more information about financial intermediaries such as their working activities, their different credit policy, different interest rate of different loan to different people, to study the role of financial sector in economic development of the nation, etc. I select the union Bank of India because its one of the largest nationalized bank and it also contribute to welfare of society and finally to Indian economy.

3. SCOPE OR IMPORTANCE OF THE STUDY


The study of the project helps to define the various problems relating to financial institutions in clear & precise manner. The study of the project are important to improve the decision making skills in a practical point of view by analysis of the financial intermediaries & helps to give clear picture about the practical knowledge about the working activities of the financial institutions. There is a big gap between the theory knowledge & practical knowledge. So, the scope or importance of study of the project is to find the practical problem effectively & improving the decision making skills.

4. RESEARCH DESIGN
The topic i.e. financial intermediaries involves in the conclusive type of research. That helps to reach to conclusion & decision making. The set of questions were prepared and this question was asked through personal visit at bank by the researcher to the bank manager to gather information about union bank of India.

5. METHODS OF DATA COLLECTION

There are two types of data collection i.e. primary data & secondary data. The researcher chooses both the data collection method for study of the project. In case of primary data, the data collected through questionnaires provided answers by the manager of the bank that the researcher visited & also take the interview. In case of secondary data, the data collected through: Books Various publications Websites Annual reports of bank News paper
