Preach 10 Dec 23 2012 A CALCULATED RISK When God sent Jesus to earth to be born into the earth as a man,

He took a calculated risk. Jesus was tempted in every way any individual is tempted. He had freedom of will. He could choose just like we choose, just like Lucifer could choose in the beginning. Lucifer chose to rebel against His creator, but Jesus did not choose to rebel. He chose to be obedient because He knew what obedience would bring. He knew Gods good will for mankind. Jesus was there when God created wolves and rabbits, atoms and quarks, galaxies and universes, the variety of plants, ecosystems, nationalities, seas, stars, rocks, imaginations and everything elseall things for us to explore, utilize and enjoy. Jesus knew Gods intention and He was willing to go up against the devil to rescue men and women from the devils clutches. To do this would mean Jesus would have to be born into the earth and beat the devil at every turn. He would have to live as a man under the temptations any man or woman would face and He had to handle all human temptations by choosing Gods way every time. On earth, man is the highest form of life because he has the ability to use intellect (for good purposes as well as evil). The first authority on earth was Adam. He chose to disobey God and give up so much of his power to Satan. But when Jesus was born into the earth as the second Adam, He had choices too and He always chose to believe Gods way and so NO choices were made for the devil, so the power of the devil to direct a man was at that instant defeated. As we accept Jesus Christ into our hearts we also defeat the devil. We still can make bad choices, but if we confess them, we receive forgivementss and God lets them go into the forgotten past. With Christ in us, we have the freedom and joy to live in the grace of God and experience a life as close to God as Adam and Eve were intended to have. We can enjoy Gods creation without the consequences of turning away from God like Adam did. Jesus as a man proved it was possible to defeat wrong choices. It was possible to live victorious and defeat Satan at every choice. When we receive Jesus into our lives we have that victory too. When we dont make right choices, we have a God who is so happy that we believed in what He did sending His son Jesus, that Hes willing to forgive and forget, just to get us back in fellowship with Him and once again enjoy the life of a son or daughter of Almightly God, with authority and grace on the earth He created for us care for and enjoy. Merry Christmas and Extreme Grace for 2012!

Love, Carolyn

Romans 5:11-21
King James Version (KJV)
11

And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.
12

Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:
13

(For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law.

14

Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.
15

But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many.
16

And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences unto justification.
17

For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)
18

Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.
19

For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.
20

Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound:
21

That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.
NLT 11

So now we can rejoice in our wonderful new relationship with God because our Lord Jesus Christ has made us friends of God.
12

When Adam sinned, sin entered the world. Adams sin brought death, so death spread to everyone, for everyone sinned. 13 Yes, people sinned even before the law was given. But it was not counted as sin because there was not yet any law to break. 14 Still, everyone diedfrom the

time of Adam to the time of Moseseven those who did not disobey an explicit commandment of God, as Adam did. Now Adam is a symbol, a representation of Christ, who was yet to come. 15 But there is a great difference between Adams sin and Gods gracious gift. For the sin of this one man, Adam, brought death to many. But even greater is Gods wonderful grace and his gift of forgiveness to many through this other man, Jesus Christ. 16 And the result of Gods gracious gift is very different from the result of that one mans sin. For Adams sin led to condemnation, but Gods free gift leads to our being made right with God, even though we are guilty of many sins. 17 For the sin of this one man, Adam, caused death to rule over many. But even greater is Gods wonderful grace and his gift of righteousness, for all who receive it will live in triumph over sin and death through this one man, Jesus Christ.
18

Yes, Adams one sin brings condemnation for everyone, but Christs one act of righteousness brings a right relationship with God and new life for everyone. 19 Because one person disobeyed God, many became sinners. But because one other person obeyed God, many will be made righteous.
20

Gods law was given so that all people could see how sinful they were. But as people sinned more and more, Gods wonderful grace became more abundant. 21 So just as sin ruled over all people and brought them to death, now Gods wonderful grace rules instead, giving us right standing with God and resulting in eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Hebrews 4:15
King James Version (KJV)
15

For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.

James 1:13
King James Version (KJV)
13

Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:

Numbers 23:19
King James Version (KJV)
19

God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?

Matthew 8:20
King James Version (KJV)

20

And Jesus saith unto him, The foxes have holes, and the birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head. Numerous places in the Bible Jesus calls himself the son of man

Matthew 9:6
King James Version (KJV)
6

But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (then saith he to the sick of the palsy,) Arise, take up thy bed, and go unto thine house. Jesus had to respond to every temptation with Gods will, so that there would not be even one temptation left in the earth that man could not also conquer if he was to receive Jesus as Lord in his life. Thats amazing good news! And even when we mess up, just accepting Christ is good enough for God. Hes just so thrilled that we accepted His best gift, that hell forgive and forget all error for Jesus sake if we just ask.

Luke 5:23
King James Version (KJV)
23

Whether is easier, to say, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Rise up and walk?

1 Timothy 2:5
King James Version (KJV)
5

For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;

1 John 2:12
King James Version (KJV)
12

I write unto you, little children, because your sins are forgiven you for his name's sake.

1 John 3:20
King James Version (KJV)
20

For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things

God already knows everything, even our thoughts before we speak them.

Jesus did enough! He did enough to even cover the worst thing we can do. Dont be a martyr and think you are the one Jesus just wouldnt be able to forgive! He did enough for ALL mankind, FOREVER! Theres nothing you can do to shock him, scare him away, disgust him so much that Hed ignore you. He got tempted by it himself when he lived here and took it to the devil and shook it in his face and dumped it off at the devils feet! There, finished for all time! God took a risk. Remember, Jesus could have chosen differently if hed wanted to. He wasnt controlled by God, but had freedom of will and he made the decisions he made because he already loved each of us! We celebrate his birth this week, and thank God for every day. So much goes through my mind about how he must have been protected as a baby and then as a young boy, teenager too, up until he got filled with the holy spirit at his baptism, and all the many choices after that! What a life and now he lives in on . Lets give him honor by our daily choices too. Love, Carolyn

O Lord, you have searched me [thoroughly] and have known me. You know my downsitting and my uprising; You understand my thought afar off. You sift and search out my path and my lying down, and You are acquainted with all my ways.

For there is not a word in my tongue [still unuttered], but, behold, O Lord, You know it altogether.

usBy Jesus coming to earth, being born just like you and mea tiny baby, then growing up through boyhood and teenage years and then being an adult, He lived a victorious life and made everlasting victory available to us just for believing!
