The Linoleum xfTM design toolbox

When you are creating an interior design solution for a commercial area, you have to meet a lot of practical needs and demands. Yet the aesthetic and emotional values must be equally important. For you to be able to realize your vision, it is important to have good inspiration and help in the interior design process. That is why we created the Linoleum xfTM design toolbox. When using it there are three ways to go in colour, pattern and trends for an infinite number of combinations. Colours The use of colour is a great way to create emotions. When searching for the right colour set-up, it is important to have a wide selection to choose from. The Linoleum xfTM toolbox includes a dynamic and vibrant colour range of 68 references. Patterns To allow maximum scope for using patterns to create the desired energy, the Linoleum xfTM collection is based on four levels of pattern expression from plain and soft to medium marbling and multicolour. Trends The Linoleum xfTM design collection is inspired by todays architectural trends, ensuring a versatile and contemporary design approach that imparts a positive energy to all kinds of commercial areas.

PLAY TIME
Bright colours are a source of life and expression Today, the development of every product must encompass peoples multiple facets, their many personalities, activities and roles. This vivid and fresh palette offers you the opportunity to customize your project and to dare to express yourself!

LOFT/VINTAGE
Scale of greys for an upgradeable architecture Comfort is often synonymous with movement and simplicity. This implies openness and transparency, large spaces and neutral colours. With these subtle shades of neutral greys, it is easy to adapt your living spaces as your lifestyle evolves.

LUXURY
Colours of seduction Offering you moments of hedonistic pleasure in a multi-sensorial and colourful environment. Transforming the everyday into unique and surprising little moments. Black or violet, sunflower or chocolate? There is no limit to your self-expression. The idea of luxury is something very personal, in fact.

ENVIRONMENTAL INTELLIGENCE
A green for everyone, for every project Preserving nature and the environment will play an increasingly important role. In this search for protection, people need to get back to mother nature, and want to be surrounded by natural products and living shades like greens and yellow-greens.

SOFTNESS
Sensory colours for a relaxing architecture The floor is a meeting surface between human beings and architecture; it is a witness to life. Like a kind of cocoon, these soft and relaxing colours invite you to feel well and protected. In a constantly aggressive world we need to take the time for a pause.

Abrasion resistance for xf TM

The abrasion resistance for xf Tm shows remarkable results, compared with regular surface treatment for resilient floor-ing. Surface treatment loss is measured in a modified Taber test, where a wheel covered with emery paper and loaded with a 1 kg weight rotates on the surface. The emery paper is renewed every 20 revolutions to maintain the abrasive action. When the surface treatment is worn out, the number of revolutions is noted.

Surface toughness second only to diamonds

Thanks to the permanent molecular cross-linking of the urethane formulation, the xfTm-treated surface is extremely resistant. on the mohs scale of hardness, only diamond is tougher.

All the advantages provided by Tarkett Linoleum flooring are now crowned by a crucial benefit for a perfect result the xf Tm welding rod. A unique formula developed and patented by Tarkett allows for welding rods that need no special treatment, and yet resist all kinds of soiling and abrasion. Your flooring will have perfect joints, both from an aesthetic and a functional point of view.

And we can prove it

Life cycle cost for Linoleum xf TM
The cost of the initial investment and installation normally represents just a small part of a floorings total life cycle cost. The rest is cleaning and maintenance. And that is why the reduced frequency and extent of cleaning and maintenance give Linoleum xfTm a very favourable life cycle cost. Compared with untreated Linoleum flooring, payback on the extra investment comes within one year. For more information, please contact your Tarkett representative.

Linoleum xf
The greatest advance for Linoleum xfTm is the reduced cleaning and maintenance. Compared with untreated Linoleum flooring, several steps are no longer necessary, and the whole cleaning and maintenance process is simplified. Always follow Tarketts cleaning and maintenance system to be sure to get the very best result.

TM

cleaning and maintenance no polish no wax are needed

1. Preventive care for a cleaner environment
Entrance matting About 80% of surface soiling that has to be cleaned off is brought from outside. And 90% of that soiling can be avoided by an effective and correctly dimensioned entrance mat.

A flooring inhibiting the growth of hospital bacterias

Hygiene is one of the biggest concerns in the choice of flooring for hospitals. Linoleum xfTm is a very good choice for such facilities. Additionally to the xfTm surface treatment, Linoleum xfTm also offers very useful properties with regards to bacteria. Research by imSL (industrial microbiological Services Ltd) in accordance with norm JiS Z 2801 shows that Linoleum xfTm has a significant effect on two kinds of bacteria responsible for hospital-acquired and difficult-to-treat diseases: - mRSA, a methicillin-resistant bacterium responsible for a high proportion of staphylococcal sepsis in hospitals - Pseudomonas aeruginosa, a pathogenic and very resistant bacterium that is one of the most difficult bacteria to treat clinically. Laboratory tests, with a sample of unfortified polypropylene supplied by iSmL as a control, show that populations of mRSA exposed to standard Tarkett Linoleum xfTm are reduced by 3.8 orders of magnitude after 24 hours. Populations of Pseudomonas aeruginosa exposed to standard Tarkett Linoleum xfTm are reduced by ca. 3.9 orders of magnitude after 24 hours. Linoleum xfTm inhibits the growth of those bacteria and significantly reduces the populations of mRSA and Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and possesses therefore very good properties for use in hospital.

2. Daily and regular cleaning

Dry mopping / Sweeping Removes dust and dirt. use yarn or microfibre mops, or disposable mops, dry or impregnated. use a suitable broom with soft bristles.

or
Vacuum cleaning (for large areas) Removes dust and loose dirt. Can supplement mopping in confined spaces. Recommended for large areas and initial site cleaning.

Cleaning in three easy steps

our unique surface protection makes it possible to reduce cleaning and maintenance to three easy steps, yet still gets top flooring performance in every way.

Damp mopping use a mop dampened with water or detergent solution. it is essential that water does not stay on the floor or leave a film. The floor should be virtually dry after 1520 seconds.

or
Wet mopping The floor is mopped using a wrung-out yarn mop head. The mop should not be over wet (to avoid wiping up afterwards). in some cases, it may be necessary to occasionally rinse with clean water. For very heavily soiled areas only.

or
Combined machine (for large areas) industrial machine-cleaning (large areas). use diluted neutral detergent. Adjustable speed (low 150250 rpm to higher). Beige/red pads are usually most suitable, but check with pad guide.

General advice
Resilient floors are damaged by solvents. Wipe up any grease and spilt oil immediately, as it may damage the surface. Black rubber wheels and rubber feet can discolour the floorcovering. To avoid damage, chairs and stools should be fitted with quality plastic protective end caps. Remember, the light colours need more frequent cleaning.

Spot and stain removal Treat stains immediately. Handle spot using a white/red nylon pad with methylated spirit, cleaning spirit or neutral detergent (solvents should not be used). Work from the outside of the mark towards its centre. Rinse and wipe afterwards with clean water.

3. Periodic cleaning

Spray cleaning (Spot-cleaning and buffing in one operation) + Dry buffing For light soiling and traffic wear to revitalize the surface. mix water and neutral detergent or floor maintainer in the container tank. Suitable speed 300500 / 1000 rpm. Dry buffing is then used to recover gloss when required. White pad is recommended. Suitable speed is 300-1000 rpm.

or

Machine scrubbing + Wet vacuuming + Dry buffing Thorough machine-cleaning using a suitable pad. use diluted neutral detergent. Low speed 150-250 rpm. Red pads are usually most suitable. After scrubbing cross-wise, wet vacuum to collect slurry, rinse with clear water and wet vacuum once again. Always dry-buff to restore finish (used to restore the trafficked surface. White pad is recommended. Suitable speed is 500-1000 rpm depending on the flooring material).

When acoustic properties are needed, Tarkett Linoleum Silencio xfTM is an excellent choice. Its two-layer construction includes the xfTM treated Linoleum, prebonded to an under layer. Tarkett Linoleum Silencio xfTM has a total thickness of 3.8 mm including 2.5 mm Linoleum with jute backing and 1.3 mm polyurethane foam under layer, which give a sound reduction of 18 dB. A 3.3 mm thickness version with sound reduction of 17 dB is also available on request. The unique construction and the manufacturing process, give floorcoverings that minimise the effect of impact noise. These floorings also offer greater elasticity, thermal insulation and comfort underfoot that lead to an increased sense of wellbeing for the users.

Relaying on the same strong surface layer qualities of Linoleum xf TM, Tarkett Veneto Soluzione xfTM comes with unique advantages its modular format and its self-locking system. The benefit of this is simple, reliable and glue-free installation. Veneto Soluzione xfTM is based on a three-layer construction consisting of the 2 mm Linoleum surface, the 6.8 mm core and the 1.2 mm cork base layer, giving a total thickness of 10 mm. The cork backing reduces impact sound by 16dB. Veneto Soluzione xf TM is available on request in two modular sizes: 915x305 mm and 305x305 mm. The colours and design are coordinated with the Veneto xf TM range.

To make a balanced choice, Tarkett gives you detailed information about our flooring and its content. From this you can select more environmentally-friendly products which: have a larger content of natural and/or renewable raw materials include recycled content can be recycled in turn release lower amounts of VOCs helping improve indoor air quality

Every Tarkett product is manufactured to the highest environmental standards in facilities certified ISO 9001 and ISO 14001, with regular independent audits to assess environmental risks. We closely monitor five key indicators to ensure we continuously improve in our use of resources: energy consumption water consumption VOC emissions from production waste generation recycling

When you choose a Tarkett product, you take part in our effort to enhance quality of life, particularly by improving air quality inside buildings and homes. For instance, Tarkett products: contribute to the best indoor air quality in the flooring marketplace, reduce the use of chemical cleaning agents and water and energy consumption, thanks to surface treatments, such as xf TM.

In making your balanced choice you can also actively participate by joining Tarkett ReUse the industrys largest flooring recycling programme. Since 1966 Tarkett has collected post-installation waste from worksites or installers in different countries which is then recycled, along with postproduction waste, into new flooring. Tarkett also recycles flooring at the end of its life, collecting materials that are recycled into products that range from road signs to piping. Tarkett recycles over 77,000 tonnes per year.
