SAMPLE OF LESSON PLAN (ENGLISH LANGUAGE) Subject: English Language Class: Form 5 Level : 2 Enrolment: 30 Date: 12/05/2011 Time : 40 minutes Teaching Context: Topic: People Learning Outcomes : 1.1 Talking about oneself and friends. 2.3 Responding to questions and comments orally and in writing. 3.1 Listen to, read and respond to literary text (song) Learning Objectives : By the end of the lesson students should be able to : (i) identify the errors on the SOV (Subject-Verb Agreement) (ii) use the Subject-Verb Agreement in sentences correctly. Teacher explains the rules of subject-verb agreement by showing the power point presentation on the screen. 2. Teacher distributes worksheets (fill in the blanks) to the students. 3. Teacher asks the students to exchange their worksheets and discusses the answers with them. 1. Students listen to the explanation. A student commented that he couldnt hear the song clearly because the song was too fast. Teacher should name one student to answer the questions at a time. The introduction and closure should be brief but interesting. Make sure that the audio system works properly. Should let the students work in pairs. Should explain the grammar rules in depth. Could paste or display a picture of the singer of the chosen song as a set induction. Could use the text on the singer as a worksheet. Should write the CCTS and strategies in the column provided in the lesson plan. 4
