I also work different stations for open houses and other visitation days. National Society of Collegiate Scholars I Joined NSCS in the fall of 2010.Through this organization I am recognized for my hard work and dedication to my education. Certified Peer Educator/ Leader-I earned this certification through taking UBE:110 Intro to Peer Education at UB through a national program called The Bacchus Network. Through the certification process I gained leadership and demonstrated how to be an active member in community service and group environments. I also learned educational material concerning safety and sensitivity measures for different people and situations.

Relevant Information

As an undergrad at UB, I had to search out some opportunities in order to see if teaching was the path I wanted to go down. In the spring semester of my Freshman year I took UE 252 with Professor Joseph Gardella. This honors seminar presented a hands-on learning opportunity that was encouraging for possible teachers. We helped students at the Math, Science, and Technology Preparatory School at Seneca in downtown Buffalo. While there we helped middle school science classes with their labs and schoolwork. I learned a lot about myself through this experience and it was my first step in investigating the education realm as a possible career path.

I am currently finishing the Education minor at UB. Through this minor I have strengthened my belief that teaching is my calling. Through classes like Intro to Education, and Language, Cognition, and Writing I have experienced more hours observing and helping in classrooms as well as writing detailed lesson plans. I feel both excited and prepared to enter into an initial certification/ graduate education program.

Also as I noted in the employment section I tutored the athletes and loved it!
