Project Objectives
1. 2. Evaluate the production of biogas and electricity from dairy manure. Evaluate enhanced biogas production through the addition of high organic agricultural and nonagricultural feedstocks. Assess the fate of nutrients, GHGs and pathogens from the storage and land application of digested versus undigested manure, and subsequent environmental and agronomic impacts. Conduct Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) for anaerobic digestion systems on medium sized dairy farms.
3.
4.
Project Overview
Anaerobic Digesters:
Construction of 2 anaerobic digesters on dairy farms in Eastern Ontario Monitoring of 4 anaerobic digesters Evaluate use of co-substrates for enhanced biogas production (pilot & full scales)
