INTRODUCTION
CFD is an acronym that refers to Computational Fluid Dynamics. CFD uses numerical methods to solve the fundamental nonlinear differential equations that describe fluid flow (the Navier-Stokes and allied geometries and boundary equations), for predefined conditions. The result is a wealth of predictions for flow velocity, temperature, density, and chemical concentrations for any region where flow occurs. A key advantage of CFD is that CFD is a very potent, non-intrusive, virtual modeling technique with powerful visualization capabilities and engineers can evaluate the performance of a wide range of IAQ/HVAC system configurations on the computer without the time, expense, and disruption required to make actual changes onsite. CFD is one of the areas that are being dramatically developed for the last several decades. This technique has widely been applied to various engineering applications like energy sector, automobile, aircraft design and turbo-machinery.

ABOUT THE INSTITUTE Bhopal is the capital city of Madhya Pradesh and is also known as city of lakes. It is well connected to various parts of the country by rail and air. The Institute is about 9 km from Bhopal railway station. Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (MANIT), an Institute of National Importance, formerly known as Maulana Azad College of Technology (MACT), is Indias one of the first eight Regional Engineering Colleges. The Institute is named after the great scholar and first Education Minister of Govt. of India, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad. The Govt. of India and Govt. of Madhya Pradesh jointly sponsored the Institute in 1960 to attract bright young engineering students across the country. The Institute is successfully producing highest quality skilled manpower to cope up with challenges of modern technological advances with about 200 faculties and 4000 students. The Institute offers 13 UG and 20 PG courses and also Ph.D research programmes. Department of Mechanical & Civil Engineering offer various M.Tech courses and Ph.D programmes. The departments have state of the art laboratories equipped with the latest software and equipments.
