CENTENARY PAVILION IS SECURED

Well, it's taken a long time but we have finally got there. Let me recapitulate on the history ofthe Centenary Pavilion. The original council scheme for the redevelopment of Elland Road area anticipated a by-pass from where the new Police Office is under construction, via a roundabout, round the back of the Monarch Airlines-sponsored Don Revie North stand though the bus park direct to the motorway roundabout, leaving Elland Road as a local community road. The original plans (now revised) envisaged slicing off part of the old Conference and Banqueting Suite. With Leeds being part ofthe England 2018 World Cup bid, we built the new Pavilion, originally to accommodate the International Press Pack and accordingly got short-term planning permission until 2019. Likewise, the Stadium Way car park was just a temporary lease. However, af er lengthy negotiations we t have now agreed thatthe Centenary Planning consent will become permanent and the car park lease will be extended to 2047 AD, which gives us guaranteed extra car parking capacity, a permanent home for the Members Club and long-term parking for non-matchday events for the Centenary Pavilion. Our sincere thanks and appreciation to the Officers of Leeds City Council for their cooperation and efforts. The Members Carol Concert on Monday evening was a great success, despite the inhospitable rain, nearly a thousand Members turned up and we had a great time Paul Green turned on the Christmas lights, David Norris and Adam Drury also attended for an autograph and photo signing session and carol singing, together with their lovely families. We were honoured with the presence of the Lord Mayor of Leeds, Councillor Anne Castle, who appeared to have a good time. This was followed by the Junior Members Party which was hosted by Kop Cat and Mila and Milo from Flamingo Land, which demonstrates that Leeds United is not just a football club, but a family institution and a way of life. Well, this is the last game before Christmas and I just wish you all have a fantastic holiday, a good rest and a complete break from your usual day to day activities. Likewise, on behalf of Suzannah and myself, I'd like to thank the Leeds United stafffortheir unswerving loyalty and work for what has been a particularly dif cult year. i f Rumours of take-overs, the appalling behaviour of LUST, who despite their wild claims, represent no one but themselves (8,500 names on a website does not constitute a membership) and of course it would appear that Gary Cooper has a few personal problems of his own. Throughout it all, the staff ploughed on, did their jobs, and have been incredibly loyal while continuing to play their part in making Leeds United one ofthe best run clubs in the country. It will not be a good Christmas for everybody. Leeds United have been trying to recoup season ticket monies for the 2004/05 season from Robert Weston, a Jersey resident. Proceedings have dragged on and some months ago, Mr Weston won his argument in the Jersey High Court, that the dispute should be heard in England. Accordingly, our lawyers have on Thursday issued the following statement: leeds United has commenced proceedings in the High Courtin London againstRobert Weston, a director ofthe Phone-In Trading Post Limited which trades as 'AdMatch'. "The proceedings relate to an agreement from 200U between Leeds UnitedAssociation Football Club Limited and AdMatch, under which AdMatch acted as agent for LUAFC in respect ofreceivingpayments made to by fans of Leeds United wishing to buy season tickets. LUFC contends that monies received byAdMatch under this agreement were, in fact, misapplied to or for the benefit ofMr Weston and his other companies. In response, Mr Weston has indicated that he will be defending the proceedings. "Proceedings were initially issued by Leeds on 28 October2011 buthave been delayed pending developments in proceedings against Mr Weston in Jersey. They are, however, now being advanced by Leeds." t Interestingly, Mr Weston has been bombarding OFH Capital on a number of subjects, including the proposed takeover and me personally. Mr. Weston might be surprised to know that they have all been copied in to me at Leeds United. Similarly, I have a copy of all Gary Cooper's emails to GFH Capital. All will be revealed in due course.
