THE CALL TO WORSHIP....................................Nancy Rogers Leader: Come, all who await God; there is good news of great joy! People: God has come among us in a baby of humble birth. Leader: Our salvation has come; let heaven and earth rejoice! People: Give thanks to Gods holy name, for Gods light has dawned among us. Leader: Join the multitudes who sing, Glory to God in the highest. People: God has redeemed us and calmed our fears; All: Sing praise to God, who joins us in human flesh! *THE HYMN OF PRAISE AND ADORATION................................No. 148 O Come, All Ye Faithful *THE INVOCATION AND LORDS PRAYER (In Unison) Gracious and loving God, on this day we pause to sing glory with the angels to the newborn King, ever marveling at the greatness of your love for us. A love prepared to take on our flesh and be born in the humblest of circumstances. Each year, the breadth of your love brings forth from us a response of praise. A response articulated in and through worship, as we sing traditional carols and as we hear familiar words of scripture. A response embodied in loving and hospitable acts. Enfold us in your love as we praise you that we may live that response. We pray this in the name of Jesus who taught us to pray for your Kingdom saying, Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: for Thine is the Kingdom and the power, and the glory forever. Amen.
