Generalcorrosionbehavior:ThehighalloycontentofAlloy625enablesittowithstandawidevarietyof
corrosiveenvironments.Thealloyisalmostcompletelyresistanttomildenvironmentssuchasthe
atmosphere,freshwaterandseawater,neutralsalts,andalkalinemedia.Inmoresevereenvironments,
thecombinationofnickelandchromiumprovidesresistancetooxidizingchemicals,andthecombination
ofnickelandmolybdenumprovidesresistancetoreducingconditions.Themolybdenumcontentalso
makesAlloy625highlyresistanttopittingandcrevicecorrosion.Thecolumbiumstabilizesthealloy
againstsensitizationandpreventsintergranularcorrosion.Thehighnickelcontentprovidesfreedomfrom
chloridestresscorrosioncracking.
