Appendix8ofM7.1standard,SampleTimingConstraints,graphicallydepictsthe timelineforcompliancetestingoffurnitureitems. Thestandarddoesnotdescribethetimescheduleandpackagingproceduresfor compliancetestingofcomponentmaterialsfollowingthescalingapproach.Our interpretationoftheintentofthestandardisthatthesampletimingconstraintsshown inAppendix8shouldbefollowedforallcompliancetestingandthattypicalpackaging maybeused.Ourrecommendationistoshipnewlymanufacturedcomponentmaterials asifyouweresendingareplacementparttoacustomerusingyourtypicalmostairtight packagingoption.Thismaydictate,forexample,thatasmallworksurfacebeshippedfor testingratherthanaprecutsectionofaworksurface.Alternately,theprocedures describedforscreeningtestingofcomponentmaterialsmaybeusedastheseare presumedtobemoreconservative.
