1. Terms of the sale are U.S. currency, approved bank
check, cashiers check or certified check in U.S. funds
only, payable within one hour of sales completion.
2. Registration papers will be withheld by sale
management until checks clear the bank. At such time, if
any owner wishes to obtain registration certificates
immediately, the horse must be paid for in currency or
certified check. Central States Fair, Inc. reserves the right
to withhold funds from any consignor until full settlement
can be reached with the buyer.
3. Each animal will be sold to the highest bidder. The
auctioneer in charge will settle any disputes as to bids
and his decision will be final.
4. Announcements from the block will take
precedence over the printed material and all other
announcements. Every effort has been made to assure the
correctness of this catalog, but the Black Hills Stock
Show, sale management and auctioneer are not
responsible for errors or omissions, and assume no
liability on its part or the seller as to statements, either
verbal or written, regarding the horse sold. Catalog
comments are provided by the seller. The Black Hills
Stock Show acts only as an agent for the several
consignors in the sale, and does not assume any
responsibility of the animals future usefulness. If an
adjustment needs to be made, it must be made between
the purchaser and the consignor.
5. All horses, with or without stated guarantees
announced from the block, sell as is with any
guarantees strictly between the buyer and seller. Blood
and urine testing may be done at the discretion of the
buyer within twelve (12) hours of the horse changing
ownership.
6. Title passes to the purchaser at the fall of the
auctioneers hammer, at which time the purchaser shall
sign an Acknowledgement of Purchase that will be
brought to him/her. Name and complete mailing address
must be legible. At this time, the purchaser shall assume
all responsibility for and risk of injury to said horse. It is
the consignors responsibility to have his or her
consignments present at the Civic Center at sale time and
also to transport their consignments back to the
Fairgrounds if the buyer requests. Buyer must indicate on
the Acknowledgement Form if he will need the horse
transported to the Fairgrounds.
7. The Black Hills Stock Show Horse Sale Committee
reserves the final and absolute right to interpret these
rules and regulations, and arbitrarily settle and determine
all matters, questions or differences in regard thereto, or
otherwise arising out of, or connected with, or incident to,
