Who are BNE and what do we do?

BNE Electrical specializes in designing quality switchboards and innovative, cost effective solutions for Mechanical Services and HVAC Industry. Our commitment to excellent customer service and attention to detail has helped build a reputation for excellence which ensures we retain the custom of our valued clients. Our aim is to understand the needs of our clients business and build strong connections based on sound and consistent advice. History
BNE Electrical was established in May 2011 originating from a local firm with over 40 years experience in the electrical mechanical industry. We operate throughout Brisbane and its surrounding areas. Since inception we have achieved solid growth and innovative success including our design, manufacture and installation of switchboards which are fully certified; this process was carried out by Testing & Certification Australia A Business of Ausgrid, Lane Cove NSW.

Products and services

BNE Electrical sets itself apart from others through our innovation and excellence in the design and installation of various power and electronic control systems; including chilled water units, cooling towers, VRV systems, condensate water units, DDC, Building Management Systems and CO2 monitoring. With CNW and CRS as the main suppliers to BNE electrical we use the best resources at the most competitive prices. Our highly trained personnel coordinate the entire project from concept to completion, focusing on what value means to our clients. Our boards can be designed in any size and are always built to the clients exact specifications complying with all relevant Standards, Codes and Practices. Client work summary RSPCA Head Office relocation

The RSPCA project comprised of various buildings, which incorporated multiple VRV systems with a master controller for each building enabling on/off control of the individual heads. Exhaust fans were fitted into the kennels with manual off auto switches. In auto, the speed was controlled from a temperature sensor fitted inside the kennel. In manual, the speed was determined from a 0 - 10V pot, which was located next to the selectors switch. BNE Electrical have successfully designed, built, installed and commissioned five mechanical services switchboards.

SANOFI Pharmaceuticals
BNE electrical worked with SANOFI Pharmaceuticals to design and install a chilled water system complete with multiple air-handling units all controlled via an air pressure sensor in duct to adjust the variable speed drive. This enabled a constant air pressure in the rooms and labs. Chemical exhaust fans with interlocking switches allowed operation from multiple switches. Power and controls were installed for 800Amp water chiller and for the 22Kw chilled water pumps.

University of Queensland Chemistry Building

The University of Queensland Chemistry building involved installing chilled water units controlled via air pressure sensors and temperature sensors located in the field. A GasTech monitoring system was also installed which enabled a sounder and strobe when oxygen levels dropped below a safe level. Multiple heater banks controlled by SCRs in the switchboard interlocked with airflow switches and HBT, which enabled safe operation.

Coles Redbank Plains

Coles at Redbank Plains had requirements to meet the AS3000 specifications which involved the switchboard to be altered, as well as new control systems being installed for the air conditioning units and new switches for the fans. A new sub circuit was installed for both the air conditioning and fans throughout the store, fan feeds were disconnected and relocated to the new locations.

Client work summary

Coles Cannon Hill

BNE electrical installed controls and power in Coles new cold aisles for the return air fans. New sub circuits and control systems were installed for air conditioning units and fans. A new dehumidifier unit was also installed in this project.

Coles New Farm

This project involved new control systems and sub circuits applied to the air conditioning units and fans. Fan feeds were also disconnected and relocated fan feeds for new locations.

Coles Ipswich
Coles Ipswich incorporated a fully designed and coordinated BMS control system in conjunction with the Coles Design Brief and Emerson Controls. BNE electrical also designed, built, installed and commissioned a new mechanical switchboard, for the Mechanical Services.

Woolworths Brookwater
The Woolworths Brookwater project involved a full design and construct of the Mechanical Services control system, I.A.W the WW brief while working closely with Emerson Controls. BNE electrical designed, built, installed and commissioned a new Mechanical Switchboard, plus a Fire Services control panel for essential services.

Type Test
BNE Electrical are now fully certified to design, supply and install switchboards, to exacting standards and requirements of our clients. Our switchboard has been tested by Testing & Certification Australia in their testing facility at Lane Cove NSW. The following tests for certification were carried out: Temperature rise test 600A Short Circuit Current Reached 25kA for 1 second Verification of Protective Circuit IP56 Water test IP54 Dust test

BNE Electricals switchboard was tested and approved on every test and we are now pleased to advise Type Certified. BNE Electrical clients are now able to obtain type certified switchboards in an easy and convenient way. We are one of only few companies in Brisbane which can offer this service to our clients. We are able to build to any specification and deliver nationally.
