FPGA implementation of 32-bit CRC Project

March 4, 2012 by Thousand Projects

Project Title : FPGA implementation of 32-bit CRC Project Platform : VLSI Language used: VHDL Softwares used: Modelsim 6.1f, Xilinx ISE 9.2i

Project Description: FPGA implementation of 32-bit CRC Project deals with error detection in digital data transfer applications. We are going to use CRC for error detection. The Philip Koopmans polynomial is used for CRC generation, which provides two more bits of error detection capability. In this Electronics & Communication Engineering Project, at the transmitter check bits are appended (codeword) to the data to be transmitted on the network or channel. These check bits are generated by dividing the message polynomial with the generator polynomial. At the receiver section same operation is performed, if the remainder is zero the transmission is error free, otherwise error has been occurred. In this project we are using VHDL for designing the 32- bit CRC. Synthesis, Place & Route are carried out using Xilinx Spartan-3E kit for programming and for verification of the functionality.

2. Enhancing The Noise Immunity In Dynamic Circuits Project

February 15, 2012 by Projects Helper

Project On Noise Immunity Description: Enhancing The Noise Immunity In Dynamic Circuits projects main idea is to implement a CMOS logic circuit for improving performance in VLSI Chips. At present dynamic CMOS chips are used in designing VLSI chips which are not efficient because of less resistant to nose compare to present new CMOS logic circuit. In order to develop a high performance and efficient VLSI Chips there is need to work on reducing noise in dynamic CMOS logic circuit. There are many techniques which are used to solve this problem which work on deep

submicron processing technology. In this project we are working on same methods to provide solution for improving reliable operation of VLSI chip. This project works on two areas under which noise is generated they are affected power, area occupied and speed. We will implement new method by reducing these factors and implement a new technique. Application is tested with the existing methods and proved to be more efficient compare to other methods.

Application of Porous Silicon in Terahertz Technology (Electronics Project)

In this study, we discuss our efforts in developing porous silicon based devices for terahertz signal processing. In the first stage of our research, we demonstrate that porous silicon samples fabricated from highly doped p-type silicon can have adjustable refractive indices ranging from 1.5-2.1 and can exhibit a resistivity that is four orders of magnitude higher than that of the silicon wafer from which they were made. We show that the porous silicon becomes stable and relatively lossless after thermal oxidation. The partially oxidized porous silicon is shown to exhibit a smooth absorption spectrum, with low absorption loss of <10 cm^-1 over the entire terahertz spectrum. As a proof of concept, we fabricated, for the first time, a porous silicon based multilayered Bragg filter with reflectance of 93% and full-width at half-maximum bandwidth of 0.26 THz. Compared with other multilayered filtering techniques, porous silicon has the advantage that it can be easily fabricated, and offers the possibility of forming multilayer and graded index structures for more advanced filters. The large surface area of nanoporous silicon makes it an especially attractive platform for applications in biochemical detection and diagnostics As part of our effort in developing terahertz waveguide for biosensing, we reported the worlds first porous silicon based terahertz waveguide using the principle of surface plasmon polaritons. The effect of porous silicon film thickness on the propagation of surface plasmons is explained theoretically in this project and is found to be in good agreement with experimental results. 4. Wireless Electrical Appliances Control System Using IR Communication

Domain : Embedded Systems, Power Electronics, Software : C, Keil, Proload Power Supply : +5V, 500mA Regulated Power Supply Display : 7-Segment LCD : HD44780 16-character, 2-line (16X2) Input : IR signal from Remote control (RC5) Crystal : 11.0592MHz Switching Loads : 6 Applications : Industries, Offices, Hotels. Banks, Hospitals Controlling electrical appliances through IR remote is interesting and very useful application. This system is widely used in industries, offices, Banks, hotels, hospitals, and display boards. In this project, IR is used for controlling any appliance in an industry by controlling the loads. IR rays are transmitted through remote and these rays are received by a receiver named TSOP 1738. Here, in this project two microcontrollers are used, one for master SECTION and other for slave section. The IR rays received by TSOP are given to the master section. from master section, IR signals are given to slave section for LED indication and are displayed on 7-segment for the respective loads. Now, from MASTER section, the loads are controlled through triac driving circuit. In the triac driving circuit, as the controller cannot provide sufficient current, MOCS are used to drive these triacs and these triacs in turn are connected to loads. Next, in the slave section, the door opening and closing is done through a stepper motor rotating in clockwise and anticlockwise direction respectively. In this, for every respective load on activation, a message is shown on 7 segment display as load1 , load2, load3, load4, load5, load6. The uniqueness of this project is, a stepper motor is also can be controlled by IR signal. Using > key on remote, the door can be opened, and using < key, the door can be closed. This project uses regulated 5V, 500mA power supply. 7805 three terminal voltage regulator is used for voltage regulation. Bridge type full wave rectifier is used to rectify the ac out put of secondary of 230/12V step down transformer.

Advantages: Easy to operate Power saving Best suitable for Bed-ridden patients Scopes for Advancements: Auto speed control based on temperature can be implemented using a temperature sensor.
