LAWYERS OATH I, Atty.

Y, do solemnly swear that I will maintain allegiance to the Republic of the Philippines, I will support its Constitution and obey the laws as well as the legal orders of the duly constituted authorities therein; I will do no falsehood, nor consent to the doing of any court; I will not wittingly or willingly promote or sue any groundless, false or unlawful suit, nor give aid nor consent to the same; I will delay no man for money or malice, and will conduct myself as a lawyer according to the best of my knowledge and discretion, with all good fidelity as well as to the courts as to my clients; and I impose upon myself this voluntary obligation without any mental reservation or purposes of evasion. A Lawyers Prayer
Almighty God, Guiding of all vocations, I thank you for the profession of law to which I belong And without which no civilized society can survive. You have gave me a share of social responsibility. I realize that my proper concern is not merely to make a living But also to make my living useful to my fellowmen. I am called to extend my services to anyone in need, Including the defenseless, the poor and the oppressed. Lord, grant me the fortituted to be faithful to my oath, To uphold the constitution and to exemplify obedience to the law. So direct to me conduct myself always In a manner that will bring honor to my profession. Teach me to be courteous and candid to the courts As well as to my colleagues, to avoid any impropriety, To treat witnesses fairly and To assist in the efficient dispensation of justice. In dealing with my clients, let me be conscious That I hold their trust and confidence May I never neglect a case, never abandon a good cause, Never forget that right is might and truth will prevail. But let me remember, Lord, that my best function Is not to conduct litigation but to provide wise counsel, That my finest moment comes not when I win A controversy but when I succeed in settling it for The benefit of my clients and the good and harmony of society.
