Guidelines for Different Scholarships under Central Govt.

I.Code-CH: -Award of Hindi Scholarship to Students of Non-Hindi Speaking State for Post-Matric Studies in Hindi 1. Scholarship details, eligibility criteria and conditions for the Scholarship are given below Eligibility Criteria Amount of Sl Courses for which scholarship is Scholarship No. awarded per month 1 +2 and equivalent Must have taken admission during 2009 in +2 Ist year on courses. the basis of 10th class or equivalent Examination with Hindi Rs. 300/as one of the regular subject. 2 +3 Degree course or Must have taken admission during 2009 in +3 Degree course equivalent course of (pass/Hons.)on the basis of Higher Secondary (i.e.+2) three years duration. Examination with Hindi as one of the regular subject. M.A. (Hindi) Pre-Ph.D./M. Litt. Ph. D. Must have taken admission during 2009 in MA (Hindi) on the basis of B.A. (pass/Hons) or equivalent Examination. Must have passed M.A(Hindi) or equivalent Examination. On the basis of the qualification leading to the admission to the Ph.D. Degree Rs. 500/Rs. 1000/Rs. 1000/Rs. 1000/-

2. Conditions of Eligibility:i) Only those students whose mother tongue is not Hindi and who are permanent residents of Orissa. ii) Candidates who wish to pursue their studies through Correspondence Course or who are preparing for an Examination privately will not be eligible. (iii)Since this scholarship is in the form of an incentive to study Hindi, a candidate in receipt of this scholarship is not debarred from receiving any other scholarship irrespective of terms and conditions of this scholarship. 3. Duration and renewal of award :a) An award once made will be tenable only for the stage of course for which it is given, subject to good conduct and regularity in attendance. Within a course which is continuous for a number of years, the scholarship will be renewed from year to year provided the scholar passes in Hindi, secures promotion the next higher class and Hindi continues to be part of the course of study in the next higher class. b) If the scholar is unable to appear for the Annual Examination within a continuous course of studies due to illness, this scholarship may be suspended till the scholar secures promotion to the next higher class subject to submission of a Medical Certificate to the satisfaction of the Head of the Institution and on his certification that the scholar would have passed had be appeared in the Examination. c) If a scholar fails to pass the Examination or fails in Hindi the award will be cancelled d) The award once cancelled will not be restored. e) The scholarship will be renewed on the basis of renewal proposal to be submitted by the Head of the Institution in the following format.

4. Important Instruction to Applicants The prescribed application format (Code-CH) will be available from the concerned College where the applicant is continuing his/her study during 2009 or can be downloaded from the website of the Department of Higher Education Govt. of Orissa at www.dheorissa.in. a) Application must be submitted in prescribed proforma only. b) Application form must be forwarded through Registrar of the University / Principal/ Head of the Institution as the case may be. c) Attested copy of the Certificate & Mark sheet of the last qualifying examination should be accompanied with the application. d) In case of Ph.D, the Regd. No. & date along with the documentary proof be mentioned. e) Application complete in all respect shall be submitted by 31.10.09 to the Head of the Institution where admission is secured during 2009-10. f) Incomplete application /applications received after the prescribed date or without required documents will not be considered.
