OXYGEN LANCING PIPES

Manufacturing of steel tubes & pipes is, basically a Heavy Mechanical Engineering industry and is mostly produced in large scale. Mainly there are 1) Black & Galvenised welded tubes & pipes, 2) ERW Steel tubes and, 3) Seamless Steel tubes. ERW steel tubes are chiefly used in bicycles, transformers, L.P. Boilers, furnitures industries etc. While seamless steel tubes are used in oil exploration, fertilizer, boiler & chemical industries. Normally, the plant capacity of Indian steel tube units ranges from 5,000 M.T. to 25,000 M.T. per annum. The industry of even smaller capacity is possible which can suit the S.S.I. parameters but the economy of scales is always there. The improving industrial climate, greater emphasis on oil exploration, power generation and the nuclear programme have improved prospects for the Indian steel pipes and tubes industry, despite some temporary difficulties created by official policy. It now manufacturers items like seamless tubes and speciality pipes for use in oil exploration and drilling, conveyance of petroleum and gas, the chemical and fertiliser industries, nuclear plants etc. a and more speciality products are on the cards. Till recently, seamless tubes and pipes constituted the largest single item of import for India.

IDLER ROLLERS FOR CONVEYORS (PLAIN & RUBBER COVERED)

Conveyor Idlers are used to carry or convey conveyor belt loaded with bulk material. These carrying idlers are fabricated from different materials such as heavy guage steel tubing or seamless steel tubing, depending upon the requirement and their applications. These idlers are specially designed to provide smooth transition of bulk material for long period of time and are available with impact rings made of special shock absorbing compound. Troughing idlers are use for conveying bulk materials, and are designed and manufactured with Troughing angels of 200 and300 normally. Idlers of 450 trough angle or any other angle are also manufactured as per customers design and drawings. We can also design manufacture and supply 5 rollers type idlers. Mounting brackets are manufactured out of standard steel sections to have rigidity and stability of the frame. Shafts are manufactured out of Carbon steel bright steel bars suitable for any torsional load and bending movement. Conveyor idlers determine to a great extent the efficiency of a belt conveyor. They must be accurately made and provide a rigid framework that will maintain permanent alignment of well-balanced, smooth running, easy turning of idler rolls.

The state of a countrys iron and steel industry products an index as its industrial progress. A universaly aecepteal yardstate formeasuring a cointerators level of eaenoine elevelopment is is per capita onsumption of steel. Judg by the yordexick the depressing fact remains that. India is among the countries with the loeoest per capta consunpoeon of steel in the world, with only 14 bg Developed cournes such as sweeden, west Germany Japan and U.S.A. hous high percapita consumption figeres. The histary of iron & steel making in India goes bade to over 2500 years, making India of of the carliest usess of iron and sted in the world. In ancient times, India has ettained a remarkafly high degree of skill in iron of iron products smelting and the making. The basic raw material for electric Arc Furnace (EAF) steelmaking in steel scrap. With the rapid growth in EAF steelmaking, demand for scrap has been on the increase. On the other hand, improvements in steelmaking practices, and subsequent processing steps of casting and rolling have improved yields of semis and finished products which ahs led to reduction in the volume of return scrap generated in these operations. The problem of scrap shortage necessitated the search for a suitable alternative and today sponge iron is found to be technically and economically a viable substitute for scrap.

ALUMINIUM EXTRUSION
Aluminium extrusion products are widely used in transport industry, rail roads, electronics and housing industry etc. The manufacturing of extruded products started long back. But, the industry expanded rapidly during last two decades. In 1967-68. There only 3 units engaged in manufacturing aluminium extruded products but till 1983-84 the number has reached 12 with total installed capacity 25,490 MT year @113% capacity utilisation. Imparts of aluminium extruded products in the seventies had been quite high but the stress is being made to reduce it in order to save foreign exchange and hence partially it is taking place of import substitute. This is clear from the import in 1979-80 as high as 3,36,659 M.T. valued at Rs. 1,05,35, 820/- to just 33753 M.T. in 1980-81 and 56,222 in 198182. On the other hand, the exports of aluminium extruded products is gradually on rise (From 27,591 M.T. in 1973-74 to 55,395 M.T. in 198182). Afghanistan, Algeria, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Burma Hong Kong, Kenya, Kuwait, Oman, Srilanka, U.A.E. etc. are the main middle East countries to whom aluminium extruded products

CAPTIVE POWER PLANT USING RICE HUSK AND COAL {CONVERTIBLE}

The term power plant is often used loosely to designate any plant in which steam is generated regardless of whether power is produced. In a more exact sense an industrial steam power plant is one in which power is generated from steam. The term power generation in the engineering sense implies the production of mechanical or electrical power from some other source of energy e.g, thermal hydroelectric or electrochemical energy. Conventional means of power generation have used air steam or water as a working medium for internal combustion engines reciprocating steam engines and steam and hydraulic turbines. Newer techniques such as magnetohydrodyamic, fuel-cell wind and solar power are under investigation and may eventually prove important. Per capita power consumption is a barometer of countrys prosperity, economic growth and industrialization. Major portion of the additional power requirement will have to be met through thermal generation.

ALUMINIUM INGOTS FROM BAUXITE

The 20th century has seen the emergence of aluminium as a key industrial and strategic material, second to only steel in terms of importance and tonnages of production. A point to notice is the upsurge in production synchronizing with the two world wars pointing to the need for aluminium as strategic material. In todays industrial civilization, aluminium is important because it serves as a basic input for a number of industry is, it is indistpensable for building up and strengthening the industrial infrastructure in the basic sectors viz. power and transportation. Besides finding extensive use in other vital sectors like space, defense, buildings, construction, domestic hardwares etc. Aluminium is a metal with high strengthto-weight ratio, better formability, high ductility, anti-corrosive properties, with thermal and electrical conductivity. Because of these unique combination of properties, aluminium(including its alloys) has substantially replaced a number of traditional materials from their established uses e.g. steel, copper, lead and zinc among metals and glass. Wood and paper among nonmetals. Aluminium is crucial for expansion of power availability and electrification programme. It has a significant role to play in saving energy in transportation sector, thus help reducing the consumption petroleum products.

BRICKS FROM STONE DUST

Brick are produced in almost all towns and villages in India, and organised bricks fields are found in the neighborhood of large cities. Refractory bricks, a special class of bricks, are included under refraction. Bricks are made of earth or natural clay fly ash, sand dust which should be sufficiently plastic and should not shrink, crack or warp during drying and burning. Iron oxide in the clay is responsible for the characteristics red colour of Bricks, and excess of it gives them a bluish black colour. The usual size of bricks are 12" x 6" x 22" (old Indian bricks) 10" x 5" x 3" (usual Bengal bricks), 92" x 4 3/4" x 2 3/4" (Bengal P.W.D. Specif), 9" x 4" x 22" (Northern India P.W.D. specif). The width of the brick is about 2" less than half of its length, so that one brick when laid lengthwise will just cover two bricks laid cross wise, with a filling of mortar between them. Hollow bricks are light (about 11 percent lighter than ordinary bricks) and afford better insulation against sound heat and cold. They may be made in any brick factory worked by power and are manufactured in three sizes: 9" x 42" x 3", 9" x 52" x 2 5/8", and 9" x 62" x 3". They are mainly used to replace reinforced concrete in roof construction. Roof slabs fabricated on the ground are hoisted into position, saving the costly centering and some cement and steel. The weight of hollow-brick roofing, jack arch roofing and reinforced concrete roofing are in the ratio, 66:100-125:70-75.

ELECTRIC SWITCHES PLUGS SOCKETS & OTHER ACCESSORIES

Electric switches, plugs, sockets, etc. are nothing but electric fittings which are quite familiar to the people as it is found in every home. They can be manufactured using different major raw materials e.g. steel, brass, thermosetting or thermoplastic resins However this report is totally based on bakelite powder or resin which is thermosetting type. Bakelite powder is also known as phenol formaldehyde resin. also other electrical accessories e.g. plates, lamps holders, may be manufactured from phenol formaldehyde resin and same plant and machineries making the industry highly flexible and profitable. Besides electrical fittings radio cabinets, inks stands, table lamps, door and cabinets, handles, power relay components, camera shutters, textile bobbins and other accessories may also be manufactured with little or no change. As mentioned earlier though electrical fittings may be manufactured from other materials also it may be noted that bakelite electrical fittings are best and economical. Also bakelite is bad conductor of electricity making them shock resistant which may be there is case of metal electrical fittings. Electric fittings are manufactured in different sizes as required by the customer. They may be of two or three pin. Three pin sockets and plugs have one major advantage over two pin ones since they are earthed also. Also various combinations are practiced in the 5-15 ampere range.

COMPACT FLUORESCENT LAMPS WITH ASSEMBLING

The fluorescent lamp is also a gaseous discharge lamp, the gas being actually mercury vapour at low pressure. A large part of the light emitted by this discharge, however, falls in ultra-violet part of the spectrum and thus invisible; apart of this, glass will not transmit ultra-violet rays to any extent. So that very little passes through to the outside of the envelope. In order to arrive at a really efficient and economical source of light, the principle of fluorescence was introduced; by fluorescence is meant the phenomenon arising from the capacity of certain substances for absorbing short-wave radiations and re-emitting them as radiations of a longer wavelength. If for convenience we refer to the emissions just beyond the red and blue extremities of the spectrum by somewhat para doxical term invisible light. In practice this transformation is brought about by a layer of powdered material applied to the inside of the glass envelops of the Lamp; under normal conditions these powders appear to be white. This powder is fully irradiated by the ultra-violet rays emitted by the gas under the influence of the electric current, and this, very briefly, is the principle on which the fluorescent lamp works.

PARTICLE BOARD FROM BAGASSE

Particle board is as the name suggests a board made of particles of bagasse. Thus particle board is a board made from bagasse which is bonded by means of a resin under the application of pressure and temperature. The organic binder resin used are normally urea formaldehyde if the particle board is to be used for interior use, or phenol formaldehyde is used if this is used in external exposurer or under severe internal conditions. Melamine formaldehyde is also used. The first plant to produce particle board commercially was built in Bremen, West Germany in 1941. The first three layer particle board was marketed in Switzerland in 1945. Particle boards find extensive use in the building industry furniture industry cabinets and automobile construction large size panels can also be manufactured at economic costs. In the hot press the mats are subjected to a high pressure and temperature so that the synthetic resin is introduced between two heated plates and hammed at regular intervals to form a board which goes out at the other end continuously. The boards are unloaded and sent through the sanding and sizing machines. Most particle board produced is in the intermediate density range from 0.40 to 0.80 g/cm3 low density boards in the range form 0.25 to 0.40 g/cm3 are insulating type where as high density boards in the range from 0.80 to 1.20 g/cm3 are called hard board type. SPUN BONDED NON WOVEN FABRIC PRODUCTION

A non-woven fabric is a sheet structure made from fibres held together by mechanical, chemical, thermal or solvent means, or by a combination of these. The term does not include hopes, or fabrics which are woven, knitted, tufted, stitch-banded or made by wool felting. In comparatively simple terms, a nonwoven may be described as a fabric having textile-like properties, which is prepared by banding fibres together, rather than by the traditional method of spinning into yarns, followed by weaving. Non-woven fabrics find their applications as carpets, blankets, upholstry, floor coverings, wall-coverings, automotive carpets, etc. The fibres principally used are polyester, nylon and viscose with occasionally, small amounts of acrylic. These fibres are blended in varying amounts, depending on the type of interfacing being made. Techniques by which fabrics are made directly from the fibres, by passing both spinning and weaving, have been utilized for centuries in the production of felt and bark cloth.

SYNTHETIC PERFUME FOR AGARBATTI

Aggarbatti is the Indian name for the Incense stick, which is a well known product coming every class of people due to its attractive perfumery smell. The use of perfumery compounds started very early in the history. It would probably had its beginning with the Atlantions who flourished at a period conjectured to antedate the christian era by about 23,000 years. For the earliest records sof perfumery compound. It is necessary to turn to Egypt Egyptian kings were very fond of perfumes in various forms. Perfumes were used for three quite distinct purposes by the Egyptians. (1) As offerings to their deities. (2) For aesthetic purposes during their lives. (3) As principal agents for embalming their dead. Cosmetics and perfumes were evidently used by jewish women. In India, China and many other Asian countries, natural perfumery compounds were used in the prehistoric period itself.

ACRYLIC BATH TUBS BY ACRYLIC SHEET

The official name of acrylic bathtub is fiberglass reinforced plastic bathtub, English acrylic is homonym. The surface material is a methyl ester C. The thickness of the acrylic sheet before shaped is over 3mm, the bottom is covered with many layers of fiberglass, enhanced with specialized resin. Finished bathtub should be even color throughout the whole tub, the surface should be smooth, non-hierarchical, no bubbles etc. The tub should be combined with the fiberglass very solidly without peeling. Acrylic bathtub is low carbon and environment protection, widely styles, light weight, easy installation, low maintenance, so, more and more construction projects and families start to use it. Acrylic bathtubs are less expenseve, better warm keeping, hi gloss with a wide range of colors. Acrylic bathtubs hold the heat better and keep the water warm longer after you initially filled it. You will have no feeling of cold when touch it. Compared with cast iron bathtub and steel bathtub, it gives you the feeling of warm and soft instead, and wont make yuour body pain. Because of better reprocessing performance, acrylic bathtubs can be molded in larger sizes than standard bathtubs. They are ideal and perfect material for producing whirlpool bathtubs.

PROFITABLE CHEMICAL PROJECTS

DEXTROSE SALINE
Intra venous fluids, in general are used as I.V drips for patients in nursing homes and hospitals suffering from acute dehydration or considerable debilitating conditions. These I.V fluids replanish the body fluids. Though a number of I.V fluids are there, generally three types of I.V fluids are used in hospitals as I.V drips. They are as follows:1. Dextrose injection fluid, 2. Dextrose and sodium chloride injection fluid, When saline is injected intravenously, it compensate the deficiency of sodium ions when dextrose is injected it gives energy due to glucose content of it when dextro-saline is given in combination, it replanishes the dehydration as well as gives energy thereby recouping debility syndrome and also in general take care of malaise. Dextrose (D-glucose, corn sugar, starch sugar, blood sugar, grape sugar) is by for the most abundant sugar in nature and occurs either in the free state (monosaccharide form) or chemically linked with other sugar varieties. In the free state, it occurs in substantial quantities in honey, fruits, and berries. As a polymer of anhydrodextrose units, it occurs in starch, cellulose, and glycogen. Sucrose is a disaccharide of dextrose and fructose. Commercial production of dextrose by hydrolysis of starch yields white crystalline sugars that are either anhydrous (C6H12O6) or hydrated (C6H12O6H2O).

ANTI-FOAMING AGENT (SILICONE BASED) FOR DISTILLERY, SUGAR INDUSTRY, PAPER PLANT ETC.
Anti-foaming agents may be categorized as solubilized surfactants, as dispersions of hard particlces and as dispersions of soft particles. In all cases a liquid non-aqueous vehicle is present even where the antifoaming agent is represented as a solid formation. Water may also be present particularly in emulsified silicone formulations. Antifoaming agent are used to reduce foaming owing to proteins gases or nitrogenous materials which may cause interference with processing. Formulation of silicone and other polymers in all are used often in emulsion form. the num ber of synthetic and natural materials used in defoamers is legion however they have in common a degree of surface activity. Soft particle formulations may consist of paraffinc waxes or falty amides among other components as the dispersed phase a non aqueous liquid serves as the vehicle. A fine particle size is generally desired which is effected by grinding or chilling a hot solution rapidly. In addition to the particulate components members of solubilized surfactant class are generally present.

SORBITOL FROM MAIZE STARCH

D-Soribitol, CH2OH(CHOH)4CH2OH (Dglucitol, L-gulitol), is a hexahydric alcohol with a 6-carbon atom straight-chain that contains six hydroxyl gropups, and has a molecular weight of 182.17. It exists as a white, odorless, crystalline solid. Because of a negative heat of solution, sorbitol has a cooling effect when tasted. The hexitol has about two-thirds the sweetness of sugar. Sorbitol was first isolated by the French chemist Joseph Boussingault in 1872 from the fresh juice of mountain ash berries. It has since been found in many natural products such as edible fruits (apples, plums, peaches, cherries, etc.), berries of mountain ash, hawthorn and Sorbus domestica, tobacco, algae, and red seaweed. In spite of its wide occurrence, natural materials are not a good commercial source of sorbitol, and it is made synthetically. The content of sorbitol in grapes is insignificant and advantage is taken of this situation by using a sorbitol assay of grape wines as a means of detecting adulteration with other fruit wines or apple cider. This sugar alcohol has been synthesized by the reduction of D-glucose, D-fructose, L-glucose and D-mannose. The most important commercial processes are the electrolytic and high pressure hydrogenation of D-glucose (dextrose), although the electrolytic method is gradually fading out of the picture.

SPICE OILS & OLEORESINS

SCFE CO2 extraction process for spices oleoresin is the latest energy efficient process in the world. Probably, no plant is working in India based on this technology. The extraction of essential oils, organoleptic compounds, i.e., the compounds responsible for aroma, flavour, and taste from both liquids and solid plant materials is possiblt using supercritical carbon dioxide. Materials that can be used are any plant materials which contain aromatic substances such as: herbs, spices, flowers, crop seeds (e.g. hops, coffee), pharmaceutically active compounds. Chemical industry. Applications of spices oleoresins are in food industry, beverage industry, pharmaceutical industry, toilet preparations (cosmetics and pefumes) industry.

ASPIRIN
Pain is perhaps the most universal of mans experiences. The sensation is valuable in alerting an individual to the fact that they have been injured or may be ill, and is a useful guide to the physician in making an accurate diagnosis and in evaluating the efficiency of a therapeutic regimen. Beyond these important functions of pain as sensation is pain as suffering i.e., the original senation plus there actions evoked by the sensation. Man has probably always sought methods for the relief of suffering pain. Before the advent of modern therapentics, relief of pain was frequently the only treatment available for an afflicted individual, any thing which descrease sensibility was regarded as useful. Analgesics are substances that relieve pain.

COOLANT (ENGINE)
The purpose of Coolant is to remove excess heat produced from the engine operation, to control corrosion and scaling, antifreeze and boil over the radiator water. So many years ago water was used to reduce the temperature. Water is an effective heat transfer fluid but it boils at very low temperature., highly corrosive and format scaling. It impure the cooling liquid by accumulating corrosive and scaled waste. So it chocks up tubes of radiator and finally engine overheats. The complexity is increased with the use of aluminum alloys in the head, water pump and radiators.

MONO CALCIUM PHOSPHATE (MCP) AND DI CALCIUM PHOSPHATE (DCP)

Tricalcium orthophosphate, Ca3 (PO4)2, commonly known as calcium phosphate, occurs in nature as rock phosphate ore, for example and is used as such as a source of fertilizer. It can also be converted with sulphuric acid to a mixture of calcium sulphate and phosphoric acid, or it can also be converted with sulphuric acid to a mixture of calcium sulfate and monocalcium phosphate, Ca(H2 PO4)2, the latter also being known as calcium dihydrogen phosphate. Calcium phosphate has a relatively low phosphorous content (20% m/m) while monocalcium phosphate, while having a much higher phosphorous content (26.5% m/m), is difficult to manufacture, and also expensive mainly because one of the byproducts of the reaction by means of which it is so prepared, calcium sulphate, has to be discarded as a waste product. Therefore, there is a need for an economical method of producing calcium hydrogenphosphate from calcium phosphate. There is a further need in the art for an economical method of producing monocalcium phosphate fertilizer from calcium phosphate and further producing edible products from the resultant fertilizer.

BORIC ACID
Boric Acid (Orthoboric acid) H3BO3, formerly sometimes called boracic acid, is tonnage material, the predominant use of which (except as a raw material for boron and boron compounds) is in medical and pharmaceutical compounds, such as eye and mouth washes and nasal sprays. Solution of boric acid non irritating and slightly astringent, with antiseptic qualities. A saturated solution of H3BO3 contains approximately 2% of the compound at 0oC;inceasing to 39% at 100o C. Commercially boric acid has the composition B2O3.3H2O. It is derived by adding hydrochloric acid or sulphuric acid to a solution of borax and crystallizing. It is also derived from borax barine, by extraction with a kerosine solution of chelating agent such as 2-ethyl-1, 3-hexane-diol, or other polyols. Borates are stripped from the chelate by sulphuric acid. At present only two Industries under DGTD which is engaged in the manufacture of boric acid at the installed capacity of 3,660 tonne per annum. Other 3-4 industries also engaged in the manufacture of boric acid but the data is not available of these industries. It can be manufactured in the small scale sector. Plant and machinery are indigenously available. Raw materials required for the production of boric acid is also indigenously available.

SINGLE SUPER PHOSPHATE & SULPHURIC ACID

Fertilizers are substances which are introduced into the oil to increase the yields of agricultural crops. In addition to increasing the amount of agricultural produce, fertilizers also improve their quality. Thus with the use of fertilizes the starch, sugar, protein and oil content of plant is raised, this in turn increases the contents of fats and proteins in livestocks products. The use of fertilizers increases the strength of such products as flax, cotton, and wool. Fertilizers increase the resistance of plants to disease, drought, low temperatures and other conditions which hinder the development of plants. Fertilizers are broadly classified in two types. (1) organic eg. manure etc and (2) Inorganic eg. Calcium Ammonium Nitrate, Super phosphate etc. Inorganic fertilizers are salts which contain elements essential for plant growth and which are introduced into the soil to obtain large crops regularly. About 60 of the elements are found in composition of the various plants.

FERRIC AND NON FERRIC ALUM
Alum are represented by the general formula R 1/2 SO4, R2"(SO4)3.24.H2O. Where R and Rare respectively monovalent and trivalent radicals. They are usually the double salts of ammonium, potassium or sodium sulphate with aluminium. Chromium or iron sulphate, and are readily prepared y by concentrating and cooling a solution containing molecular proportions of the Component Sulphate. Ferric and Non Ferric Alum is marketed in various grades. The cheapest grade called alum cake. Potash alum also known as alum alumen. Ferric alumin is aluminium sulphate containing iron obtained from the bauxite ore. Potash alum is prepared from its naturally occurring minerals such as alunite, and Ratinite, but in India these do not occur in appreciable quantities. Alum was formerly prepared from alum shales by roasting them in year and leaching it out with water. Alum is now produced in India by crystallizing together equivalent produced in India by Crystallizing together equivalent proportion of potassium sulphate and aluminium sulphate. The solution is concentrated and the crystals are separated out are melted to yield lump alum or recrystalized to obtain large crystals.

COSMETIC TALCUM POWDER

All the cosmetics consumed, talcum powders talcum powder underebly leads the list. In earliest human societies, powdered materials and clay muds were among the first preparations to be used on the face for commetic purposes, and they are still being used in this manner by primitive people. The first substances used for powder were such simple and widely divefgent produccts as chalk and white lead. Slowly, they involved more complicated blends of different materials, finally to emerge in the modern concept and interpretation of powders. Not only the talcum powders are used by women but also by men. As the art of making this toiletory improved, perfume and colour, as well as other improvements were introduced. Persons who are concerned about thier looks employ it several times daily. In this modern age talcum powders are really products that addf very materially to personal attractiveness. Talcum powders are nowadays made today by reputable manufacturers, consist of purified ingredients, approved colours and nonirritating perfumes. None of the harmful effects are suffered through their use inspite of many daily applications.

AZODICARBONAMIDE (ADC)
Azodicarbonamide is a blowing agent and is a synthetic material that has high consumption among chemical blowing agents. Azodicarbonamide also known as 1,1azobisformamide on dry decomposition at 190oC yields a gas of about 60% N2, 35% CO and minor amounts of ammonia carbon and carbon dioxide. The gas yield is high 230-240 ml/g at standard temperature of pressure (CSTP). In 1978 largest volume of blowing agent 5000 metric tons produced in the U.S. was azodicarbonamide. Azodicarbonamide (ADA) also known as azobisformide (ABFA) is the most important organic chemical blowing agent for PVC as many desirable properties required in a good blowing agent and in addition is nonflammable. ABFA can be easily compounded with dryblends as well as plastisols. It is used in the manufacture of PVC foam fabrics, floor coverings, low density open-cell foam, extruded low-density gaskets, wire and cable Jackets, slush molded products, cross cap-liners, injection moulded sols and high density profiles etc. A B F A is also used as foaming agents for Ethylene-Vinyl acetate (EVA) plasters. Various grades of foaming agents of azodicarbonamide are available and are marketed in various trade names of grade, Viz ADC, Urea, Kempora, Celogen AZ, Cenitron AC, Profor ADC, Azoid,Polyzole-AZDN, Fisons Cenitron Ac/3 and A c/4 powder grades etc.

HAIR REMOVAL
Hair removal is the removal of body hair, and describes the methods used to achieve that result. Hair typically grows all over the human body during and after puberty. Men tend to have more body hair than women. Both men and women tend to have hair on the head, eyebrows, eyelashes, armpits, pubic region and legs; and men also have hair on their face, abdomen, back and chest. Hair does not generally grow on the palms of the hands, the lips, certain areas of the genital structure, or the soles of the feet. Forms of hair removal are practised for a number of reasons, including cultural, sexual, medical and religious. Forms of hair removal have been practised in almost all human cultures. The methods used to remove hair have varied in different times and regions, but shaving is the most common method. CHITIN & CHITOSAN FROM PRAWN SHELL WASTE

Chitin is a white, hard, inelastic, nitrogenous, polysaccharide found in the outer skeleton of insects, crabs, shrimps and lobsters and in the internal structures of invertebrates. It is the second most abundant organic compound next to cellulose. It is a macro molecular linear polymer of_ (1-4) N acetyl D glucosamine and is insoluble in water and many organic solvents. Chitin itself has only a few applications; it acts more as a precursor of Chitosan, its most familiar derivative. Chitosan is deacetylated chitin, and is polymer of _(1-4) acetyl - D glucosamine. It has multifarious uses in the cosmetic, pharmaceutical and medical industries. It is even considered as a wonder drug of the twenty-first century due to its versatile utility. Chitin is a chemical compound belong to glucosamine polysaccharide group categories. It contains about 7% nitrogen, and is structurally similar to cellulose. It is the principal constituent of the shells of prawn fish, shrimps, crabs, lobsters, beetles and other sea fishes. It is also found in some fungi, algal and yeasts. Wayback in 1811 it was discovered by a french botanist that the fibrous material in the shell of prawn is chitin which is a polymer of N-Acetyl glucosamine. But it was only in 1974 that the CIFT came out with a simple technology for extraction of chitin from prawn shell waste and its conversion to chitosan.

QUATERNARY AMMONIUM CATION

Quaternary ammonium cation. The R groups may be the same or different alkyl or aryl groups. Also, the R groups may be connected. Quaternary ammonium cations, also known as quats, are positively charged polyatomic ions of the structure NR4+, R being an alkyl group or an aryl group. Unlike the ammonium ion (NH4+) and the primary, secondary, or tertiary ammonium cations, the q u a te r n a r y a m m o n i u m c a ti o n s a r e permanently charged, independent of the pH of their solution. Quaternary ammonium salts or quaternary ammonium compounds (called quaternary amines in oilfield parlance) are salts of quaternary ammonium cations with an anion. Quaternary ammonium compounds are prepared by alkylation of tertiary amines, in a process called quaternization. Typically one of the alkyl groups on the amine is larger than the others.

LIQUID SHOE POLISH WITH PUFF

Shoe Polishes are available in liquid, cream or paste, liquid shoe polish dries quickly, but is not readily available in a lot of colors and does not last as long as the other options. Shoe polishes are generally used to restore the original lustre and finish of smooth surface of the shoe. They are also expected to cleam the surface and prevent the deterioration. Most polishes contanin oil or wax for their lustering or polishing, properties. Oil polishmes are easy to apply but the surface on which they are used attract dust and show finger marks. Wax polishes are more difficult to apply, but are more leasting. OIl or wax base shoe polishes are of two types, waterless and aqueous. The former are clear or translucent, the latter are milky in appearance. The shoe polish formula changes day to day. These were motivated by demands for easier use; changes in the competition of the surface to be polished, the need for more consistent quality, especially with respect to better durability of the finish. The need to buff to achieve glass was characteristics of earlier formulas. Many modern polishes are self-polishes and impart gloss without having to be buffed.

FERRIC ALUM
Alum is available in solid form as powder, granular, kibbled & lump form. It can also be purchased and fed as a liquid. Alum can be effective in the pH range of 5.5. to 7.8, but seems to work best in most water supplies in a pH range of 6.8 to 7.5. Below a pH range of 5.5, alkalinity in the water supply is generally insufficient. The aluminum ions become soluble rather than insoluble and do not participate in the hydration and reactions necessary to make the alum effective as a coagulant. In these instances the plant may experience higher than normal filtered water turbidites, and much of the aluminum will pass through the filters. When the pH level of the water is above 7.8 after the addition of the alum, the aluminum ions again become soluble, and the efficiency of coagulation is decreased. Under these condition, aluminum ions again penetrate the filters, and post filtration alum coagulation can occur in the clear well and in the distribution system in some cases. Ferric alum is aluminium sulphate (Al2(SO4)3 18 H2O) containing iron obtained from the bauxite ore. It is soluble in water alum is a white crystalline material it is also available in 50% aqueous solution form.

OXYGEN GAS
Oxygen, the gaseous element that constitutes 20.946% of the earths, atmostphere, is essential to respiration and life in all animals and to most forms of vegetation. Oxygen supports the combustion of feels which supply mankind with heat, light and power, and it enters into oxidative Combination with many materials. The speed of reaction and effectiveness of combination increases with oxygen concentrations greater than that of air Industry has established 99.5% purity for the bulk commercial product. The great importance of the industrial gas, oxygen is due to the usefulness of the acetylene torch for steel welding and steel cutting, and for the welding of other metals, to lesser degree to the oxyhydrogen flame. Oxygen gas in the breathing apparatus for a visitors at high altitudes and for oxygentents in hospitals is a high altitudes and for oxygentents in hospitals is a more recent development.

CAUSTIC SODA [SODIUM HYDROXIDE (NaoH)]

Caustic soda, also known as sodium hydroxide (NaoH) is an important industrial chemical product produced on a tonnage basis in both solid and liquid form. It is deliquescent, absorbing water vapour and carbon dioxide from the air. It is also extremely corrosive and should be handled with great care. Adequate protection from bodly contact with the solid form or concentrated solutions should be provided. It is also a fire hazard compound as it heats spontaneously and may ignite combustible materials that are nearly. A large part of the huge amount used annually in the U.S. ( About 21/2 million tons) is produced by the electrolysis of the sodium chloride solutions in the electrolylic cells, such as the Hooxer, Nelson, Force, or Allen-Moore. Chlorine is a by product of the reaction. Alternative process is the soda-lime method.

EMPTY HARD GELATINE CAPSULES

Gelatin capsule was first invented in 1834 by Mothes, a French pharmacy student in collaboration with a French pharmacist Dublanc. They used one piece olive shaped structures which had to be sealed after filling with a drop of concentrated gelatin solution and were counterparts of the modern day soft gelatin capsules. The inventors used the capsules to mask the tastes of obnoxious materials. Mothes first sold empty shells but later supplied only filled ones. As such other inventors tried to appear on the scene to overcome the patent of Mothes. Lehuby in 1846 invented a two piece structure which was identical with the present day hard gelatin capsules. He called them mes enveloppes medicamenteuse or medicinal envelopes. the first British patent was granted to Murdoch in 1948 who was Lehubys agent. Lehubys process for production of gelatin shells was essentially the one used today. The first large scale manufacture of gelatin capsules was undertaken by Eli Lilly & co. In Hampshire. In U.S.A. the manufacture commenced nearly a century ago. Large scale machinery for manufacture of empty shells, which was full automated, was designed in 1913. Filing and sealing machinery came into being in 1950. At first the devices were semi-automatic but by 1960 fully automated versions were marketed.

DYE LEVELLING AGENT

Processing of textile materials involves the use of diverse types of compounds to perform various functions. The compounds are variously known as textile auxiliaries, textile chemicals, textile process chemicals etc. They may be broadly classified depending on he purpose for which they are used into two groups (1) Those which are used in textile processing to serve some purpose or purposes and after these purposes are served, they have to be removed from the textile material being processed and (2) those which continue to form an integral part of the materials being processed by way of either chemical reaction with the textile substrate or mechanical deposition of water soluble or water insoluble substances in the textile substrate and are expected to remain on the material more or less permanently with standing the subsequent rigorous action of varying degrees exerted on the end products during the use by the consumers. These two classes may be called temporary and permanent textile auxiliaries respectively. Levelling agents used in dyeing acid dyes on wool or nylon as IN class of (normal dyeing) vat dyes on cotton or carriers and dispersing agents used in the dying of disperse dyes on polyester fibres and solution aids used in dissolving sparingly soluble dyes in printing pastes which normally contain a small amount of water are some examples of temporary textile auxiliaries.

BATH SOAP (VARIOUS TYPES)

It goes without saying that soap is indispensable to our daily life. Accordingly, the manufacturing industry should continue to develop as one of the most important industries. Soap may broadly be classified by use as follows:- a) Soap household (toilet soap, laundry soap etc.). b) Industrial soap. c) Special soap. Among them, the consumption of special soap which is used for medical purposes and shampooing is not large. Industrial soap which is important, being used in the textile industry etc. is not consumed in a large quantity, either. Household soap which is most important quantitatively accounts for the larger part of the consumption of soap. The production of laundry soap has sharply decreased in recent years with the global spread of synthetic detergents. Indeed, it appears as though soap has given place to synthetic detergents. However, toilet soap enjoys a stabilized demand and its manufacture is not likely to lose in importance for a long time to come.

CUT FLOWERS (EXPORT ORIENTED) (GLADIOLI, MARIGOLD, STATICE, CHRYSANTHEMUM, ROSE) WITH GREEN HOUSE
Flowers are symbol of beauty, love, affection, romance tranquility etc. Besides their aesthetic value, they are important for their economic uses, such as for cut-blooms and for extracting perfumes and other products. In our country, flowers are sanctified and are commonly used in worshipping the deities in our homes and temples. We are intimately associated with them, and on all festive occasions like marriages religious ceremonies and social functions, the use of flowers and garlands has become almost essential. A large genus of erect, same notes or climbing shrubs widely distributed in the temperate parts of the northern hemisphere and on tropical mountains. About ten species have been introduced for cultivation as ornamentals or for production of rose water and attar. The genus includes about 120 or more species a large majority of which are native to the Asiatic region. It is divided into four sub-genera of which three are small and aberrant and the fourth, Eurosa, contains the roses proper. VIRGIN COCONUT OIL

Copra is prepared from ripe or nearly ripe nuts. The stage and period at which the nuts are harvested influence the quality of the copra and the yield, Nuts harvested during dry summer months give a higher yield than those harvested during rainy months. Coconuts take generally 12 months to ripen, nuts harvested earlier than 10 months yield copra of poor oil content. Fully mature nuts give high yields of copra of good quality. Two types of copra are made milling copra and edible copra. Nearly 4/5th of the copra produced in India is of the former class. The quality of copra is judged from the amount of oil it contains. Recorded oil percentages of copra from various producing countries range from 57-75%. It has been pointed out that copra which is partially deteriorated through mould attack gives an abnormally high yield of oil. Similarly, copra from the kernel still remaining in 7 months old seeding has an oil content as high as 77%. The yield of oil from copra depends on the moisture content of the copra and on the efficiency of the milling equipment.

Tomato is a very popular vegetable throughout the country and it is grown in many states. Apart from use in vegetables, its down stream products like soup, concentrates, sauce, puree, ketchup are also equally popular and they have a longer shelflife unlike fresh tomatoes. Tomato is perishable and needs to be transported carefully to avoid damage during transit. With the advent of new technology, many down the line products are made and are consumed round the year as table enrichers. Fresh Tomatoes are very refreshing and appetizing. They are a good source of vitamin C. the main tomato producing states are A.P. Bihar, U.P., Punjab, M.P. Tamil Nadu, West Bengal and Maharashtra. Two varieties of tomatoes are available in India they are the large round one which are quite sour and the longish type which are sweetish and less sour. the procesed items from tomatoes include, concentrates, juices, ketchup, and peeled tomatoes and purees. Most of the tomatoes products are made from tomato pulp, which is unflavoured finally divided flesh and juice separated from skins and seeds. It is usually concentrated to a greater or less degree before use in other products or for canning.

REFINING OF PALM OIL, SUNFLOWER OIL AND

Most crude oils and fats, whether obtained by pressing, solvent extraction or rendering are given a preliminary cleaning and clarification treatment by setting, screening, filtration or centrifugation to make them more resistant against deterioration during storage. When required for edible purposes they are nearly always given a further refining treatment. In most cases, however, some refining treatment must be applied depending on the nature of the impurities and undesirable constituents and on the purposes for which the oil is required. The impurities may be of the following types. (1) Fat-insoluble particles dispassed in the fat. (2) Material held in colloidal suspension in the fat. (3) Fat soluble substances. The fat insoluble impurities can be removed by mechanical means such as setting, filtration or centrifugation; they consist principally of seed or tissue particles, mucilage, fibres from press cloths, dust, mineral matter traces of moisture. The material held in colloidal suspension or solution consists, largely or phosphatides, carbohydrates and nitrogen-containing compounds and often complex compounds of these. It can be removed by treatment with steam, water, electrolytes, followed by setting, centrifugation or filtration with adsorbents or other aids.

MAIZE STARCH, LIQUID GLUCOSE,DEXTROSE (MAIZE AND ITS PRODUCTS)

Starch is a group of polysacchrides, composed of glucopyranose units joined together by-glucosidric linkages. It conforms to the molecular formula, (C6-H10O5)u, where n varies from a few hundred to over one million. Starh is found as the reserve cerbonhydrate in various parts of plants and is enzymatically broken down to gluose to other erbohydrates according to the metabollic needs of the plants. Industrially, starch is broadly divided into two types viz, natural and modified. Natural starches, also designated as unmodified starches or simpluy starches, are obtained from grains such as and sorghum. from roots like potato, tapioca and arrow root, and from the pith of the stems of certain palms such a sago. They are further classified into cereal starches and root starches. The characteristics of the natural starches are changed by chemical or enzymatic action and the products of these reactions are termed modified starches. This group includes dextrins, acid-modified starches, oxidized starches, starch esters, starch ethers, dialdehyde starches, and cationic starches. Starch occurs naturally in the plants and its percentage vries with the plant and also in different parts of the same plant. Corn (maize) sorghum grain wheat, rice, potato, tapioca, arrowroot and sago are among the important sources of natural starches. The grains of barley, rye, oat, and the millets are also employed in the production of starches.

Sugar is a universal sweetening agent and sugar - cane is the primary age - old source of it. Sugar cane is a very important industrial crop, accounting for about 60% of sugar production in the world. From the times immemorial the word sugar is being used variously to express delight as well as distrust sarcastically. Sugar has been used in human diet through the functions of pancreas, depending on the quantity of sugar consumed. It is must for human diet when taken directly or indirectly through various carbohydrate containing food stuffs. Sugar as sucrose is important for energy and metabolic activities. When sugar was prepared from sugar cane in the beginning cannot be definitely stated, but brown sugar or gur (Jaggery) was the first known form of sugar manufactured from sugar cane as well as from wild date palm (phonnix sulvestris), palmyra palm (Borassus Flapellifar).

COMPRESSED BAKERS YEAST

Bakers yeast is an inseparable bakery ingredient to cause fermentation in the dough used to make bakery items. As a result of fermentation we get soft and fluffy bakery items. In the present era there is an increasing trend towards processed and fast food consumption like bakery items. While demand for bakery items is saturated in developed countries it is increasing at a consistent pace in the developing nations with increased demand for processed food items like pizza base, burger buns. Yeast is a unicellular microorganism which primarily requires sugars, water and warmth to stay alive. In addition, albumen or nitrogenous material is also necessary for yeast to thrive. There are hundreds of different species of yeast identified in nature, but the genus and species most commonly used for baking is Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The scientific name Saccharomyces cerevisiae, means a mold which ferments the sugar in cereal (saccharo-mucus cerevisiae) to produce alcohol and carbon dioxide. Yeasts are usually spherical, oval or cylindrical in shape and a single cell of S. cerevisiae is around 8?m in diameter. The chemical action and growth of yeast that causes dough to rise then became apparent. Yeasts, bacteria, and molds are fungi, vegetable growths, Yeasts are commonly egg shaped and about 0.01 mm in diameter. The yeasts cell contains complex organic substances called enzymes whose characteristic is that they catalyze a chemical reaction.

POULTRY & BROILER FARMING

The production of poultry in the United States and generally throughout the world is carried out by a highly specialized, efficient poultry industry that has been a leader in trends of scale and industrialisation that have taken place in American agriculture over the past half century. The total number of chicken produced in the United Statee annually amounts to more than 3.6 billion. These are kept for two separate purpose the production of table eggs. The organisation and methods used by the two aspects of the poultry industry are different, and generally commercial table egg production and broiler production are carried out by separate enterprices. Availability of feeds and their ingredients contributed significantly to increased Poultry production is our country during the two decades.

POULTRY FEED
The manufacture of the concentrated poultry feeds is a hi-Tech area; For the formulation of concentrate a veterinary doctor having extensive field experience is a must; to prevent any disaster in form of large scale mortality which may be due to imbalance in disease preventive medicines and vitamins added in the concentrate formulated. The proposed project is for manufacture of concentrated poultry feeds in pellet form and powder form. This is the most advanced and modern method of feeding poultry. The advantages of pelleted feed enriched with controlled doze of vitamin and disease preventive medicines are that these enable the poultry farmers to achieve assured and (rated) growth right from chick stage to Broiler. There is minimum wastage which made it more economical. Poultry feeding is currently based on a well developed knowledge of the principles of poultry nutrition that has been put in to extensive practice. Chickens as is the case with all higher animals, have much more complex nutrient needs. More than 40 specific chemical compounds or chemical elements are nutrients that need to the present in the diet to support life growth and reproduction. These nutrients can be divided into six classes. Some what according to their function and chemical nature: (1) Carbohydrates (2) fats (3) Proteins (4) Vitamins (5) minerals (6) Water. The carbohydrates, fats are required mainly as sources of energyin the body.
