Jesus Christ in the light of Holy Quran

What t he bible says abo ut J e sus Christ Mo ses is greater than Jesus because he put life back into a dead stick and transmuted it fro m the plant kingdo m to the animal kingdo m by making it into a serpent (Exo dus 7:10 ). Elisha is greater than Jesus because the bo nes o f Elisha bro ught a man back to life merely by co ming into co ntact with the co rpse (2 Kings 13:21). What t he Quran says abo ut J e sus Christ Saint Mary the mo ther o f Jesus Beho ld! The angels said: "O Mary! Allah hath cho sen thee and purified thee- cho sen thee abo ve the wo men o f all natio ns. (Quran 3:42) He r Birt h Beho ld! A wo man o f 'Imran said: "O my Lo rd! I do dedicate unto Thee what is in my wo mb fo r Thy special service: So accept this o f me: Fo r Tho u hearest and kno west all things." When she was delivered, she said: "O my Lo rd! Beho ld! I am delivered o f a female child!"- and Allah knew best what she bro ught fo rth- "And no wise is the male Like the female. I have named her Mary, and I co mmend her and her o ffspring to Thy pro tectio n fro m the Evil One, the Rejected." Right gracio usly did her Lo rd accept her: He made her gro w in purity and beauty: To the care o f Zakariya was she assigned. Every time that he entered (Her) chamber to see her, He fo und her supplied with sustenance. He said: "O Mary! Whence (co mes) this to yo u?" She said: "Fro m Allah: fo r Allah Pro vides sustenance to who m He pleases witho ut measure." There did Zakariya pray to his Lo rd, saying: "O my Lo rd! Grant unto me fro m Thee a pro geny that iure: fo r Tho u art He that heareth prayer! (Quran 3:35-38 ) Z achariahs Praye r While he was standing in prayer in the chamber, the angels called unto him: "Allah do th give thee glad tidings o f Yahya, witnessing the truth o f a Wo rd fro m Allah, and (be besides) no ble, chaste, and a pro phet,- o f the (go o dly) co mpany o f the righteo us." He said: "O my Lo rd! Ho w shall I have so n, seeing I am very o ld, and my wife is barren?" "Thus," was the

answer, "Do th Allah acco mplish what He willeth." He said: "O my Lo rd! Give me a Sign!" "Thy Sign," was the answer, "Shall be that tho u shalt speak to no man fo r three days but with signals. Then celebrate the praises o f thy Lo rd again and again, and glo rify Him in the evening and in the mo rning." (Quran 3:39 -41)

Go o d Ne ws f o r Mary Beho ld! the angels said: "O Mary! Allah giveth thee glad tidings o f a Wo rd fro m Him: his name will be Christ Jesus, the so n o f Mary, held in ho no ur in this wo rld and the Hereafter and o f (the co mpany o f) tho se nearest to Allah; "He shall speak to the peo ple in childho o d and in maturity. And he shall be (o f the co mpany) o f the righteo us." She said: "O my Lo rd! Ho w shall I have a so n when no man hath to uched me?" He said: "Even so : Allah createth what He willeth: When He hath decreed a plan, He but saith to it, 'Be,' and it is! was (Befo re) fo rbidden to yo u; I have co me to yo u with a Sign fro m yo ur Lo rd. So fear Allah, and o bey me. "'It is Allah Who is my Lo rd and yo ur Lo rd; then wo rship Him. This is a Way that is straight.'" (Quran 3:48 -51) His disciple s O ye who believe! Be ye helpers o f Allah: As said Jesus the so n o f Mary to the Disciples, "Who will be my helpers to (the wo rk o f) Allah?" I am the messenger o f Allah (sent) to yo u, co nfirming the Law (which came) befo re me, and giving Glad Tidings o f a Messenger to co me after me, who se name shall be Ahmad." But when he came to them with Clear Signs, they said, "this is evident so rcery!" (Quran 6 1:6 ) No t crucif ie d That they said (in bo ast), "We killed Christ Jesus the so n o f Mary, the Messenger o f Allah";- but they killed him no t, no r crucified him, but so it was made to appear to them, and tho se who differ therein are full o f do ubts, with no (certain) kno wledge, but o nly co njecture to fo llo w, fo r o f a surety they killed him no t:- Nay, Allah raised him up unto Himself; and Allah is Exalted in Po wer, Wise;- And there is no ne o f the Peo ple o f the Bo o k but must believe in him befo re his death; and o n the Day o f Judgment he will be a witness against them;- (Quran 4:157-16 9 ) In t he Day o f J udgm e nt One day will Allah gather the messengers to gether, and ask: "What was the respo nse ye received (fro m men to yo ur teaching)?" They will say: "We have no kno wledge: it is Tho u Who kno west in full all that is hidden." Then will Allah say: "O Jesus the so n o f Mary! Reco unt My favo ur to thee and to thy mo ther. Beho ld! I strengthened thee with the ho ly spirit, so that tho u didst speak to the peo ple in childho o d and in maturity. Beho ld! I taught thee the Bo o k and Wisdo m, the Law and the Go spel and beho ld! tho u makest o ut o f clay, as it were, the figure o f a bird, by My leave, and tho u breathest into it and it beco meth a bird by My leave, and tho u healest tho se bo rn blind, and the lepers, by My leave. And beho ld! tho u bringest fo rth the dead by My leave. And beho ld! I did restrain the Children o f Israel fro m (vio lence to ) thee when tho u didst sho w them the clear Signs, and the unbelievers amo ng them said: 'This is no thing but evident magic.'
