More Rain For Argentina

Another 1-3 inches is headed back to Argentina over the next 10 days. 3 more rain events are expected during this period (3-5 rain days) during a very crucial period for planting and wheat harvest. Wheat harvest will remain slowed and a switch to additional bean acreage and less corn acreage can be anticipated, as farmers try to combat this unexpected continuation of overly wet, neutral ENSO weather.

Street flooding was seen in Buenos Aires city and fields flooded once again as widespread rains of 2-3 inches returned to C and S Argentina late last week. Up to 8 inches was seen in Santa Fe and 4-5 inches in Entre Rios, Buenos Aires and Uruguay. On the bright side, some soaking rains reached northward into S Brazil and currently continue there.

The 10 day outlook has the greatest totals in SE Brazil, with limited totals in parts of Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina and parts of Mato Grosso into NE Brazil. The rains cover much of Brazils crops keeping ideal conditions going for many, but the rains in C Argentina only renew the excessively wet conditions and problems there.
